My soul! I was there! Pilton1982. I was 18, and Aswad were the first proper reggae band I ever saw live. I danced my f*cking arse off! Tripping out of my head. This is pure, a-grade liquid nostalgia.
Cosmic I was there too. Best time of my life. 57/years old now and still rocking on. Will never stop grooving . Peace and love to everyone. Phil Angelosanto

Wow, Aswad forever! The BEST!
The best reggae band ever. That performance deserves a remaster blu ray edition!!!
ln UK maybe.
Check out Black Uhuru and Sagittarius live.
I couldn't squeeze a cigarette paper between the mighty Aswad and the glorious Steel Pulse. Misty In Roots are in the frame too.
Reggae's golden age, without a doubt!
Nope ..steel pulse...seen both over 10 times each...pulse evert time

I'm 27 I was born in 1993, but I listen to this band since I can remember because of my mom. She really loves the band as I do.
I was in that crowd ! Glastonbury back in the 80's, the days when you could still easily bunk in (over one small fence). Proud to have Cliffton "Bigga" Morrison (keyboards) and Martin "Tatta" Augustine (guitar) as good friends for over 40 years. One Love All. 👊🏼👊🏼
The.great band horns

I was there too, robin, and I danced my arse off, though I NEVER dance!! Honestly, I was 18 and Aswad, Talisman and Steel Pulse gave me a life-long love of Reggae that weekend (despite the bloody rain).
I was there too, the warm sun setting and my whole body tingling with the vibes and music. I'm sad that it changed I'm afraid.
Hey,do you mean the festival changed or Aswad???
Cos,to be honest they both changed and not necessarily in a positive way...
Still,that day was perfect,band and festival🔥🤗🌝🌎♥️

Senyah ah nyam guitar! Pure class..
I there with my brother Phill and he's mate Ian and girlfriends very good gig and a great weekend away from home nice one for posting this online one love
Rip drummie zeb
Better times could have a Empowering Black band a confederate flag flying in the audiance free of Security goons. Real honest live music and the crowd swept away by what ever band rocked up on the stage , life being lived in the moment unlike today when social media judgment calls
dictates much of the flow.
The best ever
Drummy Zeb - Best ever drummer from the Uk - Plus Tony Tuff on bass What? - Beautiful rhythm section!!
Aswad + Steel Pulse - Love Music - Word Sound Power!
My bad - It's Tony Gad on Bass...Steady and Heavy like rock
They were the best. Top ten bands for me. ❤️💛💚
And the horn section!!
Love u Angus my pal from Holland Park xxx
I think you are forgetting Steve "GrizzIy" Nisbett.
This is tight! SOOO Nice! THANK YOU FOR POSTING!!!
It's not our wish we should fight... Aswad's golden years, I was there in the crowd for this one, still have the ticket stubb somewhere, must have been all of £25 to get in (if we paid at all) more likely we got in through a hole in the hedge ! think I'm joking? A far different festival then where the peace symbol still adorned the top of the pyramid stage. Glad I was around for the best era of this great fest.
Andy Ballard my chum & me dog was shown a hole in the hedge by some friendly crusties ,whereas i'd paid £ 28 ,in 1986 . I think the wall went up soon after . Only remember The Cure who was headlining whom were fab but i can honestly say the best vibe / atmosphere at any famous bands i saw iin the 80s was Aswad / Misty in Roots at southampton guildhall around 85 ( & Ian Gillan Band in 81 at soton gaumont). The Aswad show had voddy and big smokes being passed amongst the crowd - cool as fuck 😎love from the swanky new forest
saw misty in roots at glastonbury .think it was 89.
It was 8 quid for the weekend and camping in 1982!
We used the same ticket to see Michael Jackson at Aintree in the 80s?-90s? Jeez... where've the years gone!
The CND peace symbol was at the bottom at first . there was a sun symbol on the top.
the peace symbol was placed on top after it was pulled down after ginger baker set
ALLES VOOR DE. REGGAE LOVE JAH-RASTA-

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😁💯👌♥️🎤📢📣
has anyone noticed Billy ocean is one of the backing singers.
Thats CLIFTON 'BIGGA' MORRISON the keyboard organ maestro .. It ain't no Billy Ocean ... LOL
Billy is Trini, not Jamaican. Highly unlikely.
Brinsley is Guyanese descent and Drummie is Grenadian descent! Not all are JA in Aswad! May Drummie rest in eternal peace! I know his family very well!
Alessandro de Souza 👦 👦
Is someone flying a confederate flag in the audience? 5:55 That seems odd.
I think back in the 80s there wasn't so much tension. the confederate flag was washed by motorcycle bands, rockstars, even the dukes of hazzard ride a dodge charger with the flag on top. Before I learned history I always thought it was a symbol of wild adventure/freedom.
@@rodrigolopezmaya5974 yeah sad people try to twist it into something else

never 25 quid in 1982 i think it was less than 10

The southern rebel flag in the public was not an issue back than
