I live in Cottonwood just below Jerome. I have been here numerous times and it is an interesting place to visit. I have also done ghost hunting here and caught a shadow figure at the old high school.

Wow, we lived in cornville. We were there for a year and loved it. Love the fact that you caught a shadow figure. Jerome has some great haunted history. Thank you for the comment and watching and we will see you in the next one.

You should try riding a bicycle up from Clarkdale into Jerome some time! OK, that's not for everybody but the downhill going back is awesome. I recorded concerts in Jerome for KNAU Radio station, some parts of the town are literally falling into the Earth because of how many adits were dug too close to the surface back in the day. Adits are where miners followed rich veins of ore and dug under existing buildings, there were no mining authorities to regulate who dug where so Greed pretty much led the way; that concept has taken over Arizona and reigns Supreme to this very Day. As I now live exclusively in northern AZ and travel about I often find myself talking to Mom and Grandpa Dudley Powell as I see what has happened to this amazing place. There have been many ghost stories in Jerome yes but, also many visions of the Virgin Mary praying; the Virgin of Guadalupe is very Real there and up here in Flagstaff. So, don't let a little thing like ghosts deter you from visiting Jerome and, consider parking your car and walking or bicycling around town a bit. Talk to the locals, they know so much about the place and are willing to share. Please don't litter or speed when you drive in Jerome, many a vehicle has gone airborne and it is very easy to get distracted. Visit with respect, there's so much to see and do in Jerome, there is a good reason to just slow down.

Indeed Jerome is now a tourist town in the same way Madrid,NM is a tourist town. Don't walk off Main St in either place unless you want a lesson in modern history.

They burned the dead miners in the smelter and proceeded to pave the roads of Jerome with them. Step lightly folks.😊
