Hi, welcome to my sweet country. For your information, the round fried potato snack is PACOURA, not ELIAS. ELIAS is the name of that little chef. whoever wants to come to Afghanistan please find a proper translator or speak hindi, and most of the people understand. thanks again
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. At 2:32, when you inquired with the translator, the correct name of the dish is Pakora, not Elias. Elias is the name of the vendor, and the dish itself is called Pakora. While a similar dish is popular in India, it may have some variations compared to the Afghani Pakora. Cheers.
Not all Afghans know Hindi.. it's only the people who live in the south and east (and Kabul) who know Hindi/Urdu. West Afghanistan is mostly Persian speaking.. they don't necessarily speak Pashto either (similar to how all Indians don't necessarily speak Hindi). We've spoken in hindi with those who knew - so you can see that in the other vlogs 😃
I appreciate your vlogs and showing the world thru your camera lens. So much work and stress that goes in producing this content. But, Pomegranate the way you drink not healthy at all. All the precious minerals and healthy fiber discarded. Seeds and flesh are edible. The drink is just pure sugar. All the food you eat on the street not looking healthy at all. sorry for my intrusion I may took it personally. I don't know why I care. I am just expressing my opinion.
Thanks for being concerned and letting us know, Joshua! We don't typically eat street food that often - but want to experience it in every country (where we get vegetarian street food) and share it with everyone here 🤓 agree it is not healthy... but some of this is so similar to snacks back home in southern India, that we went looking for more. That last bowl of chickpea salad was very healthy though 😛
