* The Lötschberg Tunnel is a 14.612 km long railway tunnel on the Lötschberg Line, which connects Spiez and Brig at the northern end of the Simplon Tunnel cutting through the Bernese Alps of Switzerland.

I visited Switzerland,I was so impressed with the order,civism,discipline,organisation,and cleanliness.. Back in the 90's most of my pen pals were Swiss,I enjoyed writing letters to them and vice versa,really nice and friendly people,I wrote an advert in one of the Swiss magazines that I collected when I was in a youth hostel in Basel,and when I went back to Algeria,the Swiss penfriend letters just did not stop coming. What a feeling seeing my mail box full of letters from Switzerland! Warm greetings from Algiers,Algeria to Switzerland and to the Swiss people.

Da kann man sich getrost 2 Stunden im Sessel zurücklehnen und "mitfahren", ohne Stress und Spritverbrauch; noch nicht mal Unfallgefahr ist gegeben...........wie herrlich!!! ....und wenn man die Strecke dann noch kennt...dann sind das ja Erinnerungen wie im Traum.! Sitting in my car which is on a Car Train through the *Lötschberg Tunnel ----- Kandersteg BE. It was fun and such a good experience. Only I was a bit scared of the narrow road which brings me climbing up the mountain to the train station. I love this trip!

Wonderful trip lovely view...everything is so clean and green . The landscape mountains and trees are so perfect that looks like a gigantic wallpaper !!!! Gorgeous Country !!!! Here in USA must of the country is flat with huge wide highways , I don't see this lovely mountains very often ! How long is the tunnel that cross the Alps ? Thanks for the video !!!!!
The Gotthard Tunnel is 16.9 kilometres (10.5 mi) long and runs from Göschenen to Airolo. Thanks for watching the video!
@@SigisTravelVideos naaaaa, sorry its the Lötschberg tunnel from Goppenstein to Kandersteg. 10miles seams plausibel, its about 25' train of train ride. The Gotthard is ~ 100km east of that and around 30km long (~25' due to speed limit)
Edit: its for the Gotthard highway tunnel. But there are actually 2 more tunnels below the Gotthard, a railway from Wassen to Airolo and the newer world record NEAT railway tunnel from Erstfeld to Baido.
Well these tunnels are interesting, but i still recommend the Gotthard Pass, at the southern half you can even choose 1of 2 ways. There are the "Tremola" and the usual road, Tremola is very nice but only recommended for 2wheelers (motobikes and mountainbikes due to the road surface and a whole lot of tight turns)
That's a pretty epic view as you come round the corner at 26:38.
There are a lot of alpine roads in Switzerland with views like this

Alternative and equally beautyfull Along the Rhone to Brig> Oberwald> Gletch> Grimselpass> Innertkirchen> Meiringen > Brienz >Interlaken. Saves some time for not waiting to reach the train. I hope to do the "Grand Tour"this summer, the main passes in Swiss and Austria this summer. I'm really longing for it. We live in the SW Netherlands and there everything is flat as flat can be, rather boring! When I look out of the attick we have a 360 degr view of flatter than flat land.
I did drive the Grimsel Pass last year and it's a beautiful route, as so many others in Switzerland.
@@SigisTravelVideos We are just figuring out in which order it is most logical to drive most of the Swiss and the west Austrian passes in a 3 to 4 weeks timeframe. I am eager to go there. Vehicle will be a Toyota MR 2 Sw20 with targa roof. A bit of fresh sunshine would be great.

Great Content, This is heaven, Very clean, orderly, beautiful mountains, beautiful valleys, beautiful houses, and so much more. This is a great place to raise kids and get old and die under this beautiful peaceful land, I am living in South Africa, I have Neighbours from Europe and they wish to return back to This Beautiful Europe but they are trapped here because they dont have money, they came here in the 1700s to come and colonize Africa, now there is no peace here in South Africa ,there are too much crime and corruption here, You cannot walk free with your iphone in the park, you cannot leave you kids s bicycle outsite, you cannot leave your car unlocked, our houses have high walls, electric fence, big angry dogs, guns, home alarm systems and home cameras. Sometimes I tell them friendly that they should have stayed in Europe, why did they want to take our land forcefully, I f was white I was going to go back to Europe, I dont understand how can they leave Europe to come and live like prisoners here. only few white people live free here, the rest are always scared and they are poor, I will rather be poor in a peaceful place.
I visited South Africa twice, and it is beautiful, but yes, the crime rate is atrocious😕
was supposed to be riding one of my sidecars over there this summer...oh well, full screen on the bigTV with fan pointing at me will have to do for now...
