- Meet Blossom- my sweet, playful, cuddly little girl.
Blossom was trapped with her 2 sisters around 4 months ago. I quickly realized Blossom was a little different than her sisters. She seemed to get out of breathe quicker and tired faster than them.
After an initial vet appointment we believed she would need heart surgery. We waited months to get to see a cardiologist (everyone is very booked out because of Covid and vet shortages). Sadly we discovered her heart condition can not be fixed by a surgery. I will include the note below from her vet explaining her condition:
“Blossom was born with a heart defect called atrioventricular canal syndrome or endocardial cushion. The heart is supposed to have 4 separate chambers within it. Blood is supposed to move through the heart in a coordinated way to get reoxygenated in the lungs and then be pushed out to the body. Blossom's heart has holes in the walls, resulting in essentially 1 chamber separated by valves. Because of this, the blood is not going through the way it needs to to supply her body and, unfortunately, she will likely go into either congestive heart failure or will throw a clot that will be fatal. There is no surgery or treatment for this other than a heart transplant which is not available in veterinary medicine. For now, we're keeping her on medications to help her heart function as well as it can, reduce her risk of clot formation, and make her as comfortable as we can for the time she has.”
Blossom is so loved and I wanted to give her the best life for the time she does have left. I’m hopeful that’s more than 2 months but I’m also realistic. She is at high risk of throwing a blood clot and we could lose her at any time. Because of this I wanted to fit as much as I can into her little life. ❤️ We put together this Bucket List to give her lots of kitty experiences. I’ll be posting videos of some of the items on the list.

Ashley, you are a warm, loving, caring person 💜 I don't know anyone who would go to such lengths for a kitten. This isn't part of your "job description." This is from your heart 💜 Blossom is blessed to have you. Only we know her life may be short. All she knows is love and happiness.

RIP Ashley. You were like an angel in life, and now you are literally and Angel. If your mom is reading this, I am so very sorry. Your daughter was such a wonderful wonderful person.

She is so very happy.
I was told my cat had a fatal heart condition when he was about 6 months old. I took him to another vet just to be sure and they sent his test results to a cat cardiologist. They said he did not have a heart condition and even sent his results to a specialist in New York to confirm. My cat is going on 9 years old now. I’m hoping for the same outcome for Blossom.

You should (not) be ashamed of yourself for shamelessly pushing kitty pot on sweet, innocent Blossom and turning he r into a complete kitty stoner! XD I LOVE watching cats go nutty on 'nip. It's always entertaining and Blossom's high times were no exception. Thank you for recording and sharing them, and thank you SO MUCH for giving her the opportunity to roll around in a pile of catnip. Blossom's Bucket List is such a fantastic idea from a huge heart.
