There are lots of youtubers that play one instrument really really well, like Davie504. But things are at a whole other level with these people who have actual music degrees. We don't often see David play other instruments, but honestly we shouldn't be surprised when we see David play drums and bass or Adam Neely play classical guitar and piano or Charles Bertoud plays piano. Of *course* they studied all of these other instruments and have a well-rounded background in broad aspects of music.

It’s so wonderfully generic, without really stealing anything specific. A bit like an Oasis song.
The GenX1 was a real missed opportunity. I know in 2019 Stylophone showed a really gnarly new synth, but I’ve never seen it for sale in the wild. I played it at Synthfest that year.

The piano part is pretty derivative of I Am the Walrus, honestly, as is the Shakespeare sampling. Which is all kind of funny considering he’s already made a video where he remakes I Am the Walrus.
I kinda wish he would’ve gone a little less Beatles for this one, but I guess they did ask for British psych pop. Maybe he could’ve gone more experimental like early Pink Floyd, but oh well, still a pretty tune.

I've studied every DBP video and I say studied because of the many re-watches. I've become so used to David Bennett's very obviously British voice, that my mind couldn't figure out why David was picked for this task. You've become such a common part of my day I've completely eschewed your accent in my mind. This was a great watch.

I loved it David. I want a Gen X! What a fun little toy! Brilliant composition....very Beatle-ish and very apposite after Sir Paul's gig at Glastonbury...

All your videos are so enjoyable! As a massive Beatles fan, and as someone who loves music in general, I love your work! I'm not British at all, but after watching this video, and I'm not being cheeky, I fancy a cuppa tea. Lovely, mate. Cheerio!

If this isn't just a cover of The Kinks' "Autumn Almanac" I'll be disappointed

Compares very well to other pastiches such Echoes of The Ruttles' Piggy in the Middle, Questionnaire etc. and the backwards vocal is really cleverly done.
