They keep talking about whether a team is “playoff caliber” but we haven’t seen a 12 team playoff. There is a lot of parity in college football, we will see a 3 maybe 4 loss team get in and yes a 1 loss notre dame would get in the playoff whether they “deserve it” or not
To praise USC after beating LSU is silly. They beat a LSU team that got run over by Nicholls. Sure they won that game, but they were man handled by a much smaller school.

They do play NC State in week 5. But the heart of the question is true though, how do you keep your players up for the next two games after the emotional high of the win at ND.

What??? Ok I'm totally against Brandon on this one. If USC is 9-2 when they play them, likely ranked in the low teens, and that's their ONLY ranked win, it does not matter even slightly if they got 11-1. Notre Dame needs serious help. They need Texas A&M to go on a run, they need FSU to go on a run, they need USC to run the table, Louisville to go on a run, AND to win out. If, and I think is likely the case, none of those teams are ranked top 10, and they have 0 top 10 wins, and a MAC loss. They aren't in regardless of their record. The committee has shown, STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE MATTERS. If you don't have as many quality wins, you don't get in when you also lost to a MAC team.
If Notre Dame runs the table they will absolutely be in with the 12 team playoff. They won’t run the table but an 11-1 Notre Dame ABSOLUTELY isn’t left out. The committee doesn’t give a rats ass about schedule. They want big names for more money
