- We explore Antigua, Guatemala for 2 days as we begin a multi-month Latin America trip. We try Guatemalan food for the first time and explore popular tourist sites throughout the city including the Santa Catalina Arch, Cerro de la Cruz (Hill of the Cross) and the San Fransisco Cathedral among others. We also prepare to hike Acatenango which will be in our next video!

It looks like you guys are starting off your trip right! I went to Guatemala years ago and really enjoyed Antigua! The other place which I found really beautiful was Lago de Atitlan and the nearby volcano, which we were able to walk on even though it was still really hot! I can't wait to hear more about your adventures and to go back again myself someday!

Aww we really wanted to but sadly only had a week to travel before meeting our cousins in Honduras. Next time though for sure! :)
Do you encounter real poverty? How do expats retired there deal with the infrastructure issues and poverty that surrounds them?
We weren’t there long enough to really get a good understanding of that. But I can say that the part of Antigua we were in was mostly sheltered from serious poverty

I bet it would be really fun to tour on bikes there, but for this trip we are working on the road. We have some long cycling tours planned in the future though 🙌🏼
