I'm a garment construction nerd that has been watching you for years. Thank you for sharing your content over the years. Your videos helped me get through three years of being bedridden because of extreme health problems. Am now just.starting to walk again and can sit up at the table for 1-2 hours and sew again.
The precision is quite impressive.

Вы не в курсе, что за полоску она подставляет, когда строчит?
Белая лента - это пластиковая обвязочная лента, которая часто используется в упаковочных работах. В областях с более толстым материалом возникает разница в высоте на прижимной лапке, из-за чего давление прижимной лапки и зубцы подачи становятся нестабильными по сравнению с нормальными условиями. Намеренно добавляя высоту с помощью пластиковой обвязочной ленты, давление прижимной лапки увеличивается и стабилизируется. Это также полезно для прямой направляющей линии.

Bonjour ! La sangle blanche est une bande de cerclage en plastique, souvent utilisée dans les travaux d'emballage. Vous pouvez l'obtenir dans un magasin de bricolage comme Home Depot. Merci.

What is that white strip you use while sewing and what for ?
It is a piece of nylon packing tape - you know the stuff you get around boxes that you have to cut with a knife. They use it because the presser foot has a tendency to PUSH the top layer of fabric over the bottom layer so the placket would end up twisted. The nylon is very tough, very clippy and has a cross hatch pattern on it, so it grips the fabric but allows the presser foot to glide over the top. Ive lost my bit and need to find another.
The other reason is it is a guide for a perfectly straight line between two points.
This is a Japanese tailor - everything they do is next-level precision - if you want to learn how to sew ultra-precise - this is your channel. Compared to this Savile Row tailoring is very much "that will do, close enough"

@@ateliersaison I learned almost everything I know from your channel - I taught myself to tailor bespoke suits over the Covid pandemic lockdown. Eventually, when I took a class on Savile row tailoring I knew 70% of it already.

That was my first thought too. My back aches just watching it.
She obviously isn't in that position all day. Of one stretches regularly during the shift, then straightening up is easy.
@@bohemiansusan2897 The sweat shops I've seen here on YT, stretching will get you fired.
@@quademasters249 this video is of an altelier not a sweatshop. Stretching from time to time while I work has never been an issue wherever I've worked sewing.
