Hello, beginner here! Any help would be appreciated. I'm still trying to understand why the chords I see on videos are significantly different than what I've been learning. I've been told 99% of popular worship songs use the Em, G, D, and C chords, but that's not the chords being shown on these videos. In fact, for example, the G chord(s) are different on 0:05 and 0:35 from not only each other, but from the "normal" G chord that I've been taught. I've been kind of stuck learning guitar since encountering this issue.
Is there an easier way for me to understand these nuances in chords and a way for me to learn these chords? If there's a way to explain what I'm not understanding it'd be greatly appreciated. God bless!

Slow the video down and see if that helps. It should at least give you an idea what he’s doing and then you can adjust from there if you have to.
Kind of confused, he's got a capo on the 4th fret and he's playing the song in "B" but yet the chords shown are in the key of "G"??
That is because he is playing in the CORDS of g but because his capo is on 4th it transposes to key of b
@@mrmaybe4620 I understand he's using the G chord form etc, but when you move it down the fretboard, even though the form stays the same, the musical key changes... He's playing in "B" not "G".
@@arnieg65 yes but that is the only reason you play with capo to change the key without changing the shapes. For example if you use the g shapes (shapes in the key of g) and put a capo on the first fret it will automatically be in the key of a flat and on the second fret it will be in the key of a. The third fret is b flat and fourth b and fifth c.
I believe this changes when using different shapes like the shapes of d but im not sure which fret is which key :)
@@mrmaybe4620 I think were not in agreement, my confusion was triggered by the notes shown on the screen as he did the tutorial. They were not the notes he was playing, they were the shapes he was using instead of the corresponding notes.
