It’s so nice of them to include INSTRUCTIONS with yours… they just threw mine in a box loose floating around and didn’t have any at all so it took me a minute to figure it out. I didn’t know if I even had all the parts lol. Wish I had found your video sooner… thanks for making this! Reassuring that I did it correctly :)
A small tip - when you have the pressure release valve set to the filling rate, you can leave it and just use the main valve (blue handle) to stop/start filling the can - runs faster 😊👍 . Good vid Sarah - keep em coming!
Pretty cool device. I've been canning for a bit now and just purge a can, fill from bottom and seal the lid on foam. So far so good. I am going to try this with a NEIPA soon to see how much DO it might be getting but so far I've had cans that are a few months old and it tastes great.
I was looking at that, but it seem to not work much faster than the beergun. BUT! Duofiller from norway is my go to now. Cost a littlebit extra, but it fills 2 at the same time + purgeing. Fully automatic, and very small.
I believe tapcooler is a norwegian company and is only sold/imported to usa by great Fermentations. I prefer using the beer gun method and a stand. Way less finicky when you’re doing larger amounts of cans.
@@FloraBrewing that's true. I'm really enjoying your videos, I just found your channel recently via recommendations when I was watching a video from the craft beer channel. 🤗
I’ve never understood the need for this product. I get counter pressure for bottling because there’s headspace and you’re worried about foaming in the narrow neck. But with canning, it’s wide and you’re filling to the brim anyway. There’s no headspace for O2 to hideout. Like, you pressure fill, then open it up and expose it to the same amount of air anyway! Donno, maybe it’s just me. My beergun and cannular combo is working great with my neipas for months.
I have used a counterpressure filler once for bottles and I definitely cocked it up, after a month or two the beer tasted like cardboard. I'll have to revisit it at some point but I'm sticking to kegging for the time being :)
Well I have some that are over a year old and they seem to be holding up just fine (sans my explosion but that was only the Rye Pale that didn't like the 120º heat in my garage)
I definitely want to get one of these! How did you go about setting your Cannular machine? I can't seem to get mine set properly. I either have crinkled cans or it doesn't fully seal the lid. Any recommendations would be super helpful!
@@FloraBrewing You don't notice any parts of the top that aren't fully sealed? Unfortunately, I've mine for some time now and likely am unable to get a replacement if it is defective.
Who are the nine haters? Ah well..... Thx for this video. By happenstance you were testing the exact setup (Tapcooler & Canular seamer) that we are about to invest in to move from bombers to cans at our humble nano Cidery. Only diff is I am going with the Canular Pro semi-auto to avoid having to train anyone helping me with packaging. Did you do a video on your Canular? I keep seeing comment and reviews about raising the platform to use US 16oz cans instead of the 16.9oz cans Kegland sells. But the only video I watched about the Pro didn't get into the platform issue - but I think the Pro might be more adjustable. Great vid as usual! Hopefully one daty you can try our cider if you ever expand into Bev reviews.
@@FloraBrewing IDK if you ever watched the reviews from the Portly Gentleman channel but his one on the Canular Pro has some very sound tips for getting it setup with properly tight gearing. Cans on exploding on someone means they aren't keeping it cold. You're a homebrewer. There's going to be "can conditioning." I recommend cans and crowlers to be filled to the top for oxidation purposes. Less space, more beer, less O2, less oxidation.

Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the detailed video. I have been thinking about canning for years now. Finally put it to bed and never thinking about canning again!
lol exactly. Bottling filling takes up way less time, setup wise.
The sound of clanking bottles it grating to me now haha I totally get your feelings though

yup yup! I think my Mike Hess style lids are causing some spray when opening they're a little weird.
I run my bottle gun between 3 and 5 psi. The counter pressure bottle filler (attached to a nukatap) at between 12 to 15 psi. Both great bits of kit.
Totally I run mine a little less than you but same idea

Yeah mine is from great fermentations. Had no idea it was originally from Norway!
I have been giving canning some serious thought. You and this toy make it look easy.
I love canning over bottling
Hi,
Do you know how to fill a key keg with a manually pressurised filling tank? Or have any links to the right equipment to fill a key keg? Thanks!
Great video. Is it me or are craft beer related videos the only videos that almost don´t get a thumbs down.
It's because the beer world is full of very nice people!

Why are you eating cardboard?

@@Vormulac1 not looking forwards to tasting wet cardboard for a reference factor. 🤢

interesting piece of equipment and a good video . I think i will stick to bottling though. Love the channel , keep up the good work :)
Yeah it's pretty innovative. I cant wait to try the tapcooler on bottles, it's just changing a silicon gasket thing.
What sanitize liquid you are using?
Can you give an update on taste of these cans over a few weeks?
I gifted them but I can tell you I got rave reviews from the receiver so far!
How long do those cans last.

oh really? I adjust the little white plastic base so that the can fits snug when it's engaged but that's really it
@@FloraBrewing You don't notice any parts of the top that aren't fully sealed? Unfortunately, I've mine for some time now and likely am unable to get a replacement if it is defective.
Is on it best to flush with co2 before you seal it on the tap cooler?
You can flush or you can cap on the foam. I usually cap on foam.
Once you set the release valve to the correct setting, leave it. Use the valve to stop the flow. Great video.
Thanks for the tip!
"Okay, we are all lubed up..." - I have a feeling it's a good thing, that Jenny was'nt around 🤣
We brewed this weekend and Im pretty sure she made the same joke lol
Does that valve setup you connected directly to the keg come with the device or did you have to order it or did you just have that laying around?
The valve came with it. It only comes with the canning setup though I beleive
Do you live in the Indianapolis area? Or in Indiana?
Well that’s a fun item! Nice!
It sure is!
do I really need one .... send it fast to Brazil?
