Death of FDNY Firefighter Timothy Klein: Firehouse Bunting Ceremony

- In a somber ceremony on Monday, the FDNY honored Firefighter Timothy Klein by draping the facade of the Brooklyn firehouse where he worked with bunting. Dozens of firefighters, fire officers, department and city leaders, and members of Klein's family gathered outside for the tribute. Working from inside a raised bucket on a fire truck, two firefighters draped six half-circles of purple-and-black bunting in pairs over the vehicle doors of Engine 257 and Ladder 170 in Canarsie. Two chaplains then each recited a prayer. After they finished, the attendees saluted while the pipes and drums band played Amazing Grace.

Thank you for taking the steps to becoming a firefighter. I did in 97 to 2014 a vol. Firefighter though. I did it because someone volunteer firefighter lost his life to save a person in a car that was in a flooded creek with other volunteers who were helping to rescue the person.

As a former volunteer firefighter, I feel like this affects all of us, career and volunteer, present and former. While I was in the department, two members died. They were not department related, but that did not matter to us. They were members of our department family. And we responded that way. It was hard, but we had our department family to help us. This is not just connected to FDNY. We are all members of a huge family. Members of any department are part of our extended family. I am sure most firefighters feel the loss. I certainly do.
Firefighter Klein you have command. Watch over your fellow brothers and sisters. We’ll take it from here. Rest in peace our hereo.

My sympathies. My brother FF Mike Ricci (Boston fire department) was murdered less than 2years ago.
As a family member that has lost an uncle to cancer that was a fireman for over 24 years that we as citizens see the many things that firemen go through each and every day they go out to protect our city and our homes. And there are many that may say that firemen just stay at the station at anytime or any given hour they are called upon to put them selves in harm's way to put out fires and save people. As a reviewer that I give my respect and courtesy to those brave men and women that go above and beyond and to the family may the Lord watch over you and guide you . That you have so many brothers and sisters that wear the boots and the jacket that there to back you up

Timothy Klein~ 31 Year's Old way to young to depart from this Earth..Raging House Fire where Flames Engulfed the Second floor causing part if the Ceiling to Collapse and Timothy was caught in the Collapse..Unfortunately that happens all to Often where Firefighters get caught in a House/Bldg. Collapse.
Retired Volunteer Firefighter for Engine 54/Truck 4/Bat. 9 Midtown We Lost 34 guys total and Engine 54/Truck 4 Lost 15 the Most out of any Single Engine House and if Me and My partner that day D.T. would've taken Like 15-20 more min.in the South Tower..well we Definitely would've been #35/36..Again R.I P. Timothy & Enjoy being up in that Great big Engine House in the Sky W/My 34 Brothers that are up there as we Speak..Stay Safe All & God Bless 🙌 🙏💗❤✌
I am sorry for the loss of your loved one. May you find comfort in Jehovah God's word the Bible at Revelation 21:4 where it says that God will wipe away tears and death. What a wonderful promise to look to that God has made.

It is hard to not shed a tear in this beautiful ceremony. Even though I'm a civilian and live in North Carolina, I have the utmost respect for these people who put their lives in danger to help us especially on 9-11. Just like y'all, I still remember it vividly. My condolences go to the Klein family and to all the Brothers and Sisters in the BEST DAMN FIRE DEPARTMENT IN THE US!

@@dv1267 it did, i was 14 yrs old lost my dad happend in las Vegas no mom, group home for boys got to stay untill 21 you think life only happen to them caues you see in on the news. Its every day so yeah im a bit jaded but im honest about it
