Cube could've ruined their voices if they insisted on giving the usual trainer. for Miyeon tho, her vocal training under yg kind of matched her, I'm done with bp and miyeon thing. But damn the yg mark didn't leave her voice. Still, it's her real voice, bec you'll kinda know when a voice is trained and taught to sing in a way not good for them :< fortunately, it's not the case for Miyeon and the rest of the members, which I'm really happy about.

Taeyeon & Miyeon = middle/ power
Tiffany & Yuqi = low/ unique husky
Seohyun & Minnie= high/ harmony
but overall are great vocalists individually... gidle is lucky that they have so many diverse voices...

This is why Gidle is the only active group that can rival Mamamoo in both talent, chemistry, and empowerment for me. Both groups have incredibly stable and unique voices across the board, charismatic members who bring something different to their groups, empowering messages in their songs (which they usually write themselves), and seriously genuine chemistry among the members. I think besides 2NE1 and Wonder Girls, there's been very few girl groups to hit all the criteria in my opinion.

Cherry bullet also has at least 1 god-tier vocalist but their music doesn’t do it for me so I don’t know how they’ll turn out. They’re relatively unknown and unrecognized, and from a small company.

Haeyoon has potential but is underdeveloped, I listened to one of her voice collections and she's just not there yet. But BORA...that girl is already Mamamoo level and people will someday compare her to Wendy.
But I don't like their music at all so it's easy for me to undervalue Haeyoon. But Bora's the one.

Bora’s vocals sort of remind me of Nancy from Momoland in some way - obviously not in terms of strength, Bora is WAY stronger than Nancy - but they both have this kind of Disney Channel princess tone to their voice? but yes, i really love bora and the way she does belts so easily is totally god vocal!! as for haeyoon, I totally think she’s been underutilized in their discography. i first got my eyes on her during produce 101 and i was so surprised she didn’t get into the final lineup because her vocals in that show were amazing!! and now that we know the truth behind those shows... i would say she deserves a lot better and would totally recommend her as a vocalist! i think her and bora have two totally different vocal styles though and i agree bora is more stylized, stable, and consistent
Even better, I think they're making their own path if not becoming industry leaders as a self-produced girl group who puts out songs that are actually better than so many out there. In substance, this is an even more impressive feat. Their vocals (and stage presence) is only the icing on the cake.

Miyeon's technique is really good. She's incredibly stable and is always on pitch even in encore stages
Hell, even Moonbyul said they were the group she had looked forward to the most on Queendom. When the live performance queens look forward to what you're going to bring to the table and come away satisfied, that says a hell of a lot.
just to add, people might say that they are not that good compared to other idol groups which have the best vocals, dancers bla bla bla... but still, even if they are 'not' that good individually, put all six of them together, even himalaya hill can start to shake. and hey! we have the best female rapper ever beating all 2nd/3rd gen altogether. so, yeah.. thats just it. and yep, agree with you here.. peace and love!

I stan a talented group who can write their own music, understand the emotions of their music and convey it in their powerful performances. Not to mention they always sing live and kill every single choreo. It doesn’t matter if they’re not the best of the best. No one’s doing it like them and they’re already setting their own standards.

Same, I only support groups who first of all have vocal talent across the entire group, then I see if they're involved in their own music and/or performances. There's plenty of solid groups in Kpop, but that means nothing to me if they aren't in control of their own careers, which is why Gidle and Mamamoo are the only groups I stan at the moment.
That's so important in music industry. Someone is called musicians when he know all about his music. That's the point I not found in other group. We know that in other group they get music from producer and just sing it. That's good but not enough. They can't get effort from his music without build it self.

Nobody's perfect. There were lots of vocally genius idols but (G)I-DLE have very unique voices. You can tell who's voice is singing when they have their comeback. That's the reason why I really love their individual tones rather than forcing themselves to be perfect.

Let’s not forget that SOYEON, the main rapper, hit Minnie’s, a main vocalist, high note in the LION DEMO. AND Shuhua, who is still in the process of improving fast, has a unique voice that makes it hard to even distinguish it from the other members sometimes, and even the members have said that themselves.
Tbh if shuhuas vocal were unique it could actually be easy to distinguish from others. For example i think minnie, miyeon and yuqi have really unique voices and i can always telk its them. No hate but shuhua really has a very common voice.

@@deanxzayn1408 I think Shuhuas voice is unique because she can easily sound like any other member of her group, her vocal color is very pretty and has the ability to camouflage with the other members voices. Not many vocalists are able to do that.
They have the best Vocals in this generation, belting doesn't prove that you're good at singing at all. A lot of groups sounds high pitched all the time that means they don't have dynamics. And yes Idle vocal line can hit both low and high notes and that what makes them stand out and to add that they have unique destinct voices even the rapper LoL. I just wonder why they don't add belting in their songs (except Lion)
I especially hate that fact that a lot of Kpop companies *cough* such as JYP *cough* are so obsessed with high-note belting that they force their girlgroups to sing ridiculous high notes that are extremely difficult to get right, even for well-trained soprano female voice type.
If my memory's correct, members of TWICE, EXID and some other girlgroups have openly complained that some notes in their songs are so freaking impossibly high that it really stresses them out.
High note is not one of part making music good. But harmony and feel of vocal can make that. On person who that not know very well about music and vocal will like it. But not yet with person who knows music and vocal. I sometimes feel mercy with Idol who be ordered to sing in high note although he can but that's so bad to reach that note. That's will have the impact for they mentals and vocal ribbon in long or short time.
As Soyeon said, she knows her members voices and future potential but is the song who leads which vocals should be placed on each second

@@thedivinefolktales3555 there r plenty factors that will let u know ur tesitura, the tone being the most important imo, ur RELAXED vocal range (uppercase relaxed cuz u can just have a wide range as a result of training ur voice, a soprano could be good enough to support a E3 and an alto could be good enough to support a E5) and finally what I like to call soprano/mezzo/alto issues, what I mean is some issues that certain tesituras tend to have, for example I'm more willing to think that someone who struggles w nasality is probably a soprano, someone who's very chesty and pushy a mezzo and so on, but ofc this depends on each Vocalist, these r just few things that are common and could help u determine someone's tesitura

Not having many royalist fans like sm, jyp stans (for buying album & vote on music shows, awards) but it's good that some k-netizens knowledged their talents, Hwaa is doing well for digital chart and this is the most succeessful comeback as for now. Korean fans and overseas fans, pls give them a lot of supports! They're really talented group and deserve better!

Miyeon is the best singing live of modern music, she has a special technique and her lungs are powerful, she is stable and powerful and that's good.
tbh idle’s really lucky they have minnie. her voice is one of the most unique voice i’ve heard from a kpop community, it’s calming and soothing. and i just cant stop listening to her parts cause it’s always great, but then again idle is lucky to have each other and they all complete each other well. so proud to be a minnie bias n a neverland🥰🥰

As a blackjack I totally lose hope when 2ne1 disbanded then i happened to stumble in the mv of lion and before 5 seconds I already found a new group to stan. I feel like i got hooked to Idle because I see CL in Soyeon and I feel 2ne1 when they all perform probably because of live singing and legit rapping.
As a blackjack aswell, i started stanning(again) Mamamoo, Idle and Red Velvet. These 3 are live vocal queens. Literally.

In 4th gen, I can't think of any girl group that having unique vocals like (G)-IDLE.. they might have best vocal line as (G)-IDLE or better than (G)I-DLE but I can say that no another group in this generation has distinct voices as (G)I-DLE

Majority of people prefer Minnie over Miyeon because her voice is colorful. Soyeon is having fun playing with her voice and it gives texture and so much elements to their songs. Miyeon's voice is already excellent for an idol but she's predictable and you can find similarities with other Korean singers. But, how many times did Minnie surprise us with her voice? Almost every song. The good thing is that, they are both members of G idle.
Actually miyeon provided quite a lot of background vocals to enrich the gidle songs. Try searching hidden vocals gidle songs. Minnie has the airy angelic voice, which is similar to soojin's voice too, just that soojin's voice is a bit sweeter. However in a radio interview, minnie also said she wasn't able to project powerful energy in her vocals. This is where miyeon and yuqi come in. Gidle's songs are colourful because of these 5 or 6 different voices. In songs that require uplifting energy, miyeon gets more lines. In songs that are more edgy like tomboy, i think minnie and soyeon get more lines. Miyeon's voice has been evolving in 2023, which is apparent in their english ep songs, gosh i wld never expect those lady gaga-like voices from her in i want that. And she actually tweaked her voice specifically for each english song. Yuqi's voice also has improved a lot and became more stable. In the past, she still needed miyeon's help to find the right pitch when covering other artists' songs. You can see that in their crazy karaoke sessions and a radio interview. Minnie's voice is the unique angelic mysterious voice which adds some texture and uncertainty to the gidle songs. Her voice is usually used by soyeon as first verse or intro and sometimes shares chorus parts with miyeon. I absolutely digged minnie's voice previously and still do. I would say all 3 of them as well as soyeon have unique voices. But honestly speaking, by hearing how miyeon sang in the new english ep songs, which really blew me away, and now i can't wait to see what new songs and vocals miyeon can deliver in the future because she really made a statement there, which is her voice is not predictable at all!
I just admire that they are honest when it comes to if they sing live or not. Other groups just pretend they sing live everything when they not. Idle just admit they did it with debut.

I'm excited waiting to Shuhua's voice to develop, she has a huge range and now is more stable and confident. Still saying she is (G)I-DLE's secret weapon, I can't wait to see how her voice will be at the end.
I think maybe she is too shy trying to sing, if she experiments she could try a lot of things with that range (Just check Dahlia OMG that's main vocal material)

And two years on. listen to her now! Wow! She always wanted to be an actress and I think that leads to the versatility in her range and sound. But she has carved out her niche with the super high yet soft and airy, sensuously whispery voice! And she's nailing the high harmonies consistently.

The worst thing is is most of the songs you picked to prove their vocals capabilities are not actual (G)I-DLE songs. That’s kinda the rub. Since they have so much creative license to produce their own music, they should write songs that allow them to show off the full extent of each members singing, even if they have to write 3 or 4 or 20 songs to do it. It’s not like they have limits. Especially singing. The songs can be b-sides with no choreo.
Also I want (G)I-DLE to give Soyeon a full rap track, just so she can show all of her rap talent in an actual (G)I-DLE song.
I agree, Soyeon holds back a lot on rapping in GIDLE songs, she barely gives herself more than 15s per song.
Their latest mini album I Burn is the most vocal-focused album they have to date (it's really really good too), but they have yet to perform the bsides live.

how can people not know, even though it's very good, it feels like it's not known to the public because the group that just debuted is already popular on social media, while gidle doesn't, I rarely watch videos of gidle groups in tiktok. . The group is very unique and very good in terms of dance, vocals and so on. Their songs are also very melodious and nice, they each have incredible talents that are not present in other groups. i hope gidle will continue to progress and succeed next year, i will always support despite the fall and continue to give encouragement, good luck

This proves that Yuqi is considered in the vocal line along with Minnie and Miyeon by Cube. All covers that are by the vocal line are by these three, because they are the best in the group. Yuqi is definitely the lead vocalist and only her can be ( many say that she is in the same level with Soyeon and Soojin which is quite funny, because these two have poor control and no support. Yuqi has great support, the best in the group, and quite good control ).

As a neverland since Latata era, I want to give my honest opinion about their live vocals. What I mean by live vocal is singing and rapping live. Soyeon is undoubtably the monster since debut era. Her live vocal is so clear since that era. Both Miyeon & Yuqi didn’t fall that far from Soyeon but Miyeon improve gradually and I must say on the same level as Soyeon. Next in line is Minnie. She is an incredible singer but due to her confidence her live vocal is sometimes too thin especially when she sing hard choreographed song. Then Soojin. Damn girl her improvement is skyrocketing during this Hwaa era. Before you can hear that she’s overpowered by backtrack but nah she said not anymore. Next, Shuhua. Imo I put her last on the list not because she’s weak but due to her lack of line. It’s kinda hard to judge her improvement of live singing when she had little lines but all I’m hoping for is that Shushu will be more confident next comeback and she’ll pick more lines.
