I am 35 now, have been single my whole life. I don't have close friends or any friends who care. In recent years I started solo travel and solo shopping. Eating alone and watching movies alone have been the norm. Sometimes when the feeling of loneliness hits, it's really painful.
It's not just Asia. We are more connected than we have ever been in human history - but on a meaningful and personal level I don't think it has ever been this bad.
I’ve noticed this trend while traveling through various Asian countries. The culture of long work hours and social expectations leaves little time for building relationships. It’s a silent crisis that needs more attention.
Lol yea right and people in the west who work from home with some much free time or commute to work with public transportation have time to build relationships?
@jiahao5489 Last I checked China is a communist country and they have the same country. There's nothing capitalistic about China. Every single company in China is majority owned by the CCP and has a Chinese communist branch in their headquarters. There's NOTHING capitalistic about that, the money earned in China belongs to the Chinese Communist Party. In China, the CCP does as it pleases and in capitalist countries there's greed running amok. In China, men like Jack Ma lose everything when they talk like capitalists while in countries with capitalism, all of the money flows to the wealthiest and practices like that are known as corporatism. I don't know how many times I have to educate you CCP bots but then again, you are compelled to spread misinformation because your goal is for communism to spread across the globe.
It's rough. In my 30s, live thousands of miles from family. Moved here with my girlfriend at the time who has since passed away. I have good acquaintances at work, and the gym, but they stay there. North America is 20 or 30 years behind Japan. Japan and SK are the canary in the coal mine. If we can see what is not working there today, we can change course and avoid the crushing white tsunami that is coming. For those who do not know what a white tsunami is, it is the situation caused by 1 child or 0 children per family. Where eventually there are 6 retired people for every 1 worker. A situation that no nation can survive. edit: 6 retired for every one worker was just a projection for SK in 2060.. really a nation won't survive even 1 retired person for every 1 worker. So 6 is just impossible.. it means no more farming, no more food, no more hospitals, just mass starvation and suffering.
The future belongs to those who have children. SK will be fine as long as they don't mass import people like the West . There's benefits to this. Cheap af housing and land. Employers competing for workers ex.... A nation isn't a business it can't always only go up (population like profit.). The nation will remain because a nations is a group of people who live in that geographic spot. They will have hardship but as long as they don't kick the can down the road aka the west and mass immigration they will come out ahead. One thing people don't realize is that, women who got forced abortion and sterilization in China are still alive and well because this shit happened from 1978 to 2015....... Imagine, within your lifetime, you see parents kill their baby girls or had forced abortions and then China lifts the ban and you can't unkill your child or get more children because you have been sterilized.
Unfortunate harsh truth, he internet has ruined civilization. As human beings we aren't meant to be able to have hundreds to thousands of people over thousands of miles be in our social circle. He’s right tho, it is for looser. People could be doing so much more with their time. This is why i listen to the videos while im doing what i have to do
Back in the day, we used to have something called "third spaces". Places that wasnt work or home where you could hang out and socialize. These used to be things like Taverns, Tea Houses or more resent Malls. It didnt use to be a chore to socialize, it was something you could just do whenever you wanted. You made friends with those who was around, now you need to go out of your way to make friends. I used to be a loner with no friends, but i did the hard labor to get friends and socialize, but its labor. I can sympathize with everyone who pays for social interactions, i would by pizza instead of making it, except if you were to make your own social circle from grounds up, it would be like farming the wheat and tomatoes for the pizza yourself, and if you want meat and cheese on it, you need to get the pigs and cows as well. Its hard to make friends if you have none, but once you get them, you need to maintain them, and that isnt nearly as difficult. You can get out of loneliness, you just got to keep on trying.
Yea, where I live it’s real rural, but we still had some third spaces like bowling alleys, skating rinks (old school ones with a big room looking straight out of the 70s where people could rent a pair of roller skates and go in a big circle listening to music all evening, not the skateboarding type lol), movie theaters, arcades, and even our local mall had people going and hanging out … until 2020 when everything became stagnant, causing all of those to shut down in just a short amount of time for our area despite being among the last few places for teens and kids to go to, really. Places where they could go to socialize outside of school just immediately cut out entirely, leaving them to where sports and a select few extra curricular activities were all they had to continue a social life, which doesn’t exactly catch the interest of most teens anymore. Those third spaces still attracted people to get out and socialize enough to maintain a connection to others. It forced many in situations they maybe didn’t want to do initially, but ended up having fun after some time as it was a way to meet others much like themselves, even with the internet/social media being around. It’s one of the reasons I knew most people to get their license as a teen - to be able to start driving to go hang out at these places. Nowadays, going by what the local high school has even said, most aren’t even bothering to get their learner’s let alone their license as teens anymore, even if just driving to school. Vastly different compared to how it was for me as a teen back in the early 2000s, but even in such a short amount of time so much changed around here… It’s sad, really, and feels almost by design anymore … even pre-2020. What better way to make people lonely and complacent (and in turn desperate) than taking away such spaces to where they’re dependent on being online 24/7, separated from the rest of society, to socialize (and in turn spending all their money on online activities to feel any sense of “normalcy” for any sort of connection to others) than to take away all those spaces (or at least make it to where they’re harder to keep up with in the modern era compared to tech)? I’m beyond the age of socializing anymore. I’m married with a child, still keep in touch with a few friends from childhood, but I don’t go out of my way to socialize in that sense. However, I’m grateful for the times I did as I had those places to go to… was able to meet people I would have otherwise never met when it came to the internet. I’m just saddened for those younger than myself who won’t really have those places/opportunities to be able to do that - to be older to make the choice to not socialize and not feel any regrets in doing so as they would have been able to do such prior. They don’t really have much of that choice anymore as the internet is all the socializing a lot of the youth has today.
@@TwoBs It's totally by design. I swear up and down my class of 08 were the guinea pigs. We got to see what people were like who graduated above and below us and we were somewhere in the middle. i can count my IRL friends and contacts on one hand, and i've never been happier or as content. i haven't had a girlfriend in 14 years either. you learn to appreciate your time when you get to enjoy all of it on your own merits. to say i am an introvert would be putting it mildly, as i am basically living the hermit life when it comes to actively avoiding people that are not my direct relatives. the best part is, nobody has ever called me socially awkward or autistic or anything of the sort as a result of this self-imposed hermit lifestyle, and that is partly because i meet a lot of new people on a daily basis through the internet as well as having a whole bunch of regular friends online, so that itch gets plenty of scratching without having to physically socialize with anyone. and when i don't feel like socializing online anymore, its as simply as hitting the "leave" button. what little physical face-to-face contact i do experience is not plagued by my lifestyle. i don't get those "bye sir" - "uhh you too" moments that autistic, socially inept people have been meming about for years and years at this point.

Being lonely is really tough, man. I lived in Mexico for 1 year doing some job training - and that was the loneliest I have ever been in my life. I turned to the bottle, I was lost. It was like every mistake I had made in my life caught up with me emotionally and I was spiraling. I knew I was spiraling and I let it happen just to see how far the rabbit hole went. I had two neighbors that were worried about me and would invite me over to drink, they’d talk to me, help me study my Spanish etc… and to this day I’m still friends with them and talk to them here and there. 2 years later I’m in a much place emotionally. I’m back home and I talk to my family and the few friends I have. I also really place a lot of value in those friendships, man. I let them know I love them. If you have social stress or social anxiety, that’s not something I can speak on. Because I don’t have social anxiety. I’ve always been a misfit but hey, I’ve been cool with it. The real anxiety of not being good enough fell off of me during my 20’s. I ended up outgrowing it. There are also a lot of different therapeutic RUclips channels that talk about this. GG healthy gaming is a great guy and he gives all sorts of advice. I also really like Dry Creek Wrangler School. Those are two solid recommendations. Love you guys, hope you’re good out there. one main driving factor that is always forgotten about is that the entire idea of community has been destroyed in the civilized world, think about it friend and family groups are always separated because of jobs, the village concept is where everyone knew one another you'd be able to walk to your friends house and to the bar/ general store all within 15 minutes, your parents or other family members would set you up with someone to eventually marry and there would be commonality and culture all around. all of that has been stripped away from people in developed countries.

Yeah I was self conscious like that too until I start to go to college where I really had no choice (because before I could still rely on high school friends, as fickle as they may have been). I still couldn't bear to sit in the campus cafeteria because it was really crowded and being alone felt way too on the spot, so instead I'd go to fast food joints and what not. I sat alone, still quite self conscious, but then I realized something: people don't care, people aren't looking around each person sitting around in the restaurant, they're just going on with their own life and their own circle, they don't look at every other person sitting in under a microscope, and if they look at you, they'll forget you the moment they gaze elsewhere. Pretty much the same as you do, actually. And from that point on, that's when I just stopped caring and made peace with going on life solo.

You don’t cry because you never had a reason, sounds good to me. As a man we don’t really cry unless for a real reason like passing of family members is the only time I cry. When I get emotionally said instead of crying it actually comes out as frustration and anger then crying but I think it has something to do with social engineering that response in men. Men are disposable to the eyes of other men and women, it’s what we are taught right ?

Hit it off and been friends for 20 years now. Recently made a friend group on SC2 and we also found out we lived in the same city so we met up to go out for dinner. You CAN make friends online, but you need to a) not be a dick, and b) be willing to actually talk to them and meet up.
I used to get much lonlier when I was younger, even though throughout my 20s I always had a girlfriend and some friends. These days, I'm 40, given up on people, because I don't think the right match for me even exists and relationships are stressful... and I've never been less lonely, even though I stay inside all day and don't have any friends. I'm just cool with being a hermit. Would it be nice to have some close friends and a girlfriend? Of course, but it doesn't bother me anymore not having them, for multiple reasons really. I just wanna enjoy playing video games until I die, because I really do truly love games & game culture more than ever. In a way, my life is actually pretty good. Not in the same way as if I had relationships and success, but in a different way. I'm relaxed and at peace, living minimalist, with barely any material attachments, and that feels great.
It's weird, i love being alone. I'm not shy so when random person talk to me I always says I like being alone and somehow I made friends and sometimes they ask me to hangout, it clearly they feel pity and ask me out, once i got forgotten I finally have a free time. It been a full year not interacting with other people not even trying to find a job just living off from people who pay rent at my house. Maybe in the next few years I finally feel lonely, but right now i just enjoy my normal life doing repeating task over and over again without stress.
If I allowed myself, I would rarely ever need to have a face to face conversation with anybody. I do keep a gym membership to also exercise my social skills
Exactly. I also got friends but I hang out with them only because I like and respect them, not because I want to. I realise I like being alone and I stopped feeling any loneliness years ago. At this point I can't even get my head around how I could mentally cope with looking after a wife and kids, probably can't as I don't want any more responsibilities.

I lived alone for 8 years and maybe felt alone 5 times. The issue is the mentality when you exist like you feel lonely. Growing up a lot of family made living at home something that wasnt enjoyable. I took solace in the ability to live without someone else. The issue I find with a lot of people that are lonely, is that they sit there and think about it. Loneliness is typically attributed by mindset more than most emotions. After those 8 years I finally got in a relationship and its extremely strong mainly because of the level of self-reflection. The problem I find is we are in an epidemic of loneliness, simply blaming this on mindset ignores the fact that this is an occurrence and not a normality. I dont think social media caused this, I personally think interaction with social negativity caused it. Seeing a lot of people get put behind bars for things they did or said or... didnt say or do, really drives a lot of people's self-preservation. Women are told men are predators, and men feel afraid to speak because they dont want to make them uncomfortable. Guys dont talk to guys because it requires commitment or possibly conflict can occur. A lot of people are just exhausted by extremes today that they have constantly been bombarded with. Social media is good for a social tool, but it also has info that exhausts people. Id also argue that global IQ has increase by 25 points since the 1940s, many people may just not find much reason in relationships that feel hollow unlike lower IQ which tend not to care. This is an observed outcome in studies.
Agree, to be fine with being alone is a blessing, If you constantly feel a NEED to have people validate your existence by being around you then you're just afraid, Just embrace and accept being alone, Understand your loneliness if you have it but LEARN that there is a difference in being alone and being lonely. For me personally I am simply someone that had no issue finding friends and enjoying life and hobbies but at the end of the day I like just being by myself, I can go and meet friends at any point and be very social if I feel like it, but there's no need to force interraction, Just be in the now and enjoy what is there, Don't jail those around you with HAVING to be with you
i live alone for like 30 years and i dont feel lonely at all. Its more like a mindset id say, there are people who live alone but feel lonely and thats sad, i dont feel lonely because i chose to be alone and im happy. Also i dont see how someone can be alone not by choice, finding partner takes almost no effort at all and making family if you want, so its more a mental problem probably
There’s definitely different levels. Been alone for eight years (oddly seems like a common number in this comment section) and neighbor hit me up yesterday and she got my number… she’s cute but now I just don’t care anymore.
I am alone but rarely lonely. After living with others; parents, siblings, roommates, girlfriend, wife, others accept that I have earned the right to be alone. Those who go straight to living alone after leaving home, are judged

Social Media is ironically the cause of social decline. Due to cancer apps like TikTok, Dating Apps, OnlyFans, etc people have lost the ability to socialize. I think I was born at the greatest time, bc I was too young in the 80s to partake in the cringey adult type things that people did in the 80s, and was a tween when the grunge scene hit, which was a re-imagining of the 70s, but in a technological birth period. I dont know about other Asian countries but here in Japan, the cultural/societal norm here is extremely group oriented. Meaning, you literally have no privacy and always have to communicate with everyone around you. You have to be extroverted or atleast pretend to be in order to survive in this society. This leads to people wanting privacy and being alone in their free time. This is why so many businesses and services such as restaurants are catered towards customers that want to be by themselves. Its the complete opposite from western societies. I feel like this is what alot of foreigners seem to not understand or mistake when talking about Japan for example.
I'm 35 and i've been single my entire life! But i would never resort to AI companion/girlfriend or OF or anything similar! I've tried some of these apps out of curiosity for a few days and no... Using those apps is demeaning. I wouldnt be able to live with myself using AI girlfriends or anything of the sort.
I feel like the real issue here is more than we've turned everything as a society into a commodity, so now when you even look at relationships, it's seen as a commodity where you can buy and sell the parts you want more than it's a life with someone you deal with the good and bad. If all you want is the physical stuff that's something you can always buy, now just a date then move on with life? Movie and conversation then leave for a month? meeting with parents one time? It's all brought and dealt with on a transaction so people no longer have to deal with the everyday problems/monotony of the rest of the time.
Scariest thing is that people have always been lonely, but only now we know about them thanks to the internet and only now their loneliness manifests through these simping incidents. 20 years ago, people were still lonely, if not more, we just never heard of them.
A basic education would show you that there are multiple kinds of normal. Chiefly, there is quantitative normal and qualitative normal. Quantitative normal is approximately what a person thinks when they hear "average." For example, it is normal for Western children aged 5-18 to attend public school, because that's the majority case. Qualitative normal refers to adherence to a standard; for example, normal blood pressure is around 110-120/70-80. If the entire population's blood pressure spikes 40 points, that doesn't change normal blood pressure; it just means most people now have high blood pressure.
@@FunningRast Normal: Conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected. Standard: used or accepted as normal or average. Avarage: a single value (such as a mean, mode, or median) that summarizes or represents the general significance of a set of unequal values. General: involving or relating to most or all people, things, or places, especially when these are considered as a unit. Spend less time watching videos and more time reading.
Social media has made people think they're connected, but the issue is those connections are almost entirely shallow. Doesn't matter how many friends you have online as most of those connections are going to be pretty shallow. Saying goes "mile wide, but an inch deep." At some point all of this will come crashing down and the impact is going to be detrimental for a lot of societies.

Wow, it’s crazy that Zack mentions eating at restaurants alone and how he stopped caring how it looked after he turned 30. I had never heard anyone else say this before, and that happened with me. I never went to a restaurant alone until I was like 31-32 years old. That’s when I became single for the first time in a long time, and I just started going to my favorite restaurants whenever I wanted. No more needing to find someone to go with me. Now I still do it and it doesn’t even cross my mind that someone might think I’m a loner or weird. I really don’t care.
@@Anthonybrother Reality is reality. Illusion is illusion. It’s not even logical to pursue things in an illusion even in the most selfish mindset since anything in an illusion is ultimately, well, an illusion.
@ Yeah that doesn’t even make logical sense. You’re contradicting so many philosophical principles such as the principle of non-contradiction. The senses is part of the body and Aristotle says that the senses do not work for 3 reasons: illusion, hallucination, or delusion. You have delusion, friend. Our soul is intellect and will. The intellect has faculties to know the truth, which is the Principle of Identity, “A thing is what it is”. The most basic principle. You gotta wake up from this delusioned culture. What you see, is what you see, which is reality.
@@alexpark472 You have it backwards. It’s not because reality is bad, but it’s that the person becomes bad. They have consistently lived their life contrary to how nature and reality has been set up that it literally hurts for their intellect to focus on reality. The Principles of Non-Contradiction states that: A thing cannot not be and be in the same time and in the same respect. This just basically means two different ideas cannot coexist if they’re contradictory, only ONE is correct. We know this principle in the fact that when someone lies about a situation, either what they’re saying is true or not. Our general culture has been breaking this principle constantly, since it’s the foundation of why lying is immoral. People now are breaking the most basic and fundamental principle of philosophy, the Principle of Identity stating: A thing is what it is. A chair is a chair. A dog is a dog. The principle of non-contradiction is built upon this. But people now are saying a boy is a girl, vice verse. Thomas Aquinas says that when a person does this, they are considered mentally ill.

learn to be alone, not lonely. Lonelyness is a craving, just like for alcohol or drugs. You really don't need it, you are fine without it, once you make it through to the other side. You are enough. You are all you need. Everything else is a fantasy. Get rid of it. Shape your life the way you want it. Have a calling. Have a job you love. Have anything you love and live for it. Thats what makes you happy.
I'm 47 and now that I'm divorced I love being alone and I'll never be in a relationship ever again. This woman ruined me financially and now if I spend money it's going to be on two girls that absolutely deserve it, my puppers. If I would have stayed single I would probably be a millionaire. Oh well money isn't everything I am happy now and it's going to stay that way.
I honestly think a large impact on relationships is dei. If you want to approach a girl and she doesn't find you attractive she can just have you arrested. Not to mention somehow it became offensive to tell a woman she is beautiful.
Yeah I noticed this was a huge problem at the College I dropped out of. "Unwanted interactions" counts as sexual harassment, myself and other guys have been reported for merely talking to a Women when they didnt want to be talked to, albeit theres no way for them to tell. I feel like we need a place thats just called "you can talk to anyone else here" where everyone consents to being talked to
I was at an outdoor gym, not talking to anyone, pacing back and forth while looking at my feet. I happened to be looking in the general direction (as I said, I was mostly looking at the ground) of a group of college age women, and I got yelled at for being a creep. Literally just walking around in circles, not trying to talk to anybody, just standing in a park looking around between sets was enough to make me a "predator" to modern women. Crazy

Funny as it sounds, stealing copper is quite common in the plumbing trade. At any given time, we may have 100,000k worth of copper locked up in a trailer for a particular project. Most often it's the scrap copper that goes missing. Basically any collections of pieces that are left after am installation is nearly completed. Also, a lot of copper goes missing from demolition phases on retrofit projects. Any time we work in an old school or hospital and alot of the old pipes are being replaced, workers will sieze upon the opportunity to cash it in at the local scrap yard. Although, I do have to mention that most of these instances are directly connecting with a drug addiction of some kind.
That's interesting. I know some people who likes to brag about the stuff they "get" from surplus on their jobs. They bring back some weird things that they won't ever use or need, they just like to point at it and say how expensive it is, it's literally trophy hunting 😂. I don't understand how they get away with it
As a 26 year old I have been single my whole life. I do have to say it does suck some times being alone but moving around so much as a kid I never had time to build relationships until my 20s by then I was already in the workforce and since covid kinda just been solo. As a wannabe voice actor / actor hoping maybe to find someone while going after my dream job or atleast some that shares my same interest. I never understood the whole virtual girlfriend or drooling over female streamers or only fans and stuff. I say personally, go to events, meet new people, or meet someone at work is ur best bet just dont use dating apps unless it's something local, i guess... I believe social media needs to be banned from kids until 16 so they don't hop on this trend early.. also parents need to monitor kids more.
The internet also makes the average person able to see a massive amount of people that in a pre-internet environment would never have access to. Now people can see the "perfect" person that they desire on the internet and it makes anyone else who would be acquirable not viable because the one guy half way across the world is who they want, so why would they settle for anything less. There's also the removal of secondary meeting places, like bars, malls, and other community driven areas that have been phased out because you don't need to go to the places just to talk and socialize with friends, you can text and use discord without ever leaving your house. This removes the chances of meeting random people in the area who you might connect with, socially or romantically. Sure these places still exist, but it's not mandatory to socialize there with the internet
They replaced experience with expectation. So since that have no foundation of relationships (or they have had poor relationships) they treat these women as how they expect or fantasize dating them would/should be.

All part of the plan.
It’s also just the main reason people aren’t having kids is cause of money problems. People also can’t afford to go out a lot.

Loneliness is a person by person type of thing, they have trauma that’s been unresolved. I no longer need anyone to feel happy, alone or not.
I was the most sociable person ever and now I can't stand people
Yea, where I live it’s real rural, but we still had some third spaces like bowling alleys, skating rinks (old school ones with a big room looking straight out of the 70s where people could rent a pair of roller skates and go in a big circle listening to music all evening, not the skateboarding type lol), movie theaters, arcades, and even our local mall had people going and hanging out … until 2020 when everything became stagnant, causing all of those to shut down in just a short amount of time for our area despite being among the last few places for teens and kids to go to, really.
Vastly different compared to how it was for me as a teen back in the early 2000s, but even in such a short amount of time so much changed around here…
It’s sad, really, and feels almost by design anymore … even pre-2020.
They still have these. Now it's just called a bar. Sad

i haven't had a girlfriend in 14 years either.
you learn to appreciate your time when you get to enjoy all of it on your own merits.
to say i am an introvert would be putting it mildly, as i am basically living the hermit life when it comes to actively avoiding people that are not my direct relatives.
the best part is, nobody has ever called me socially awkward or autistic or anything of the sort as a result of this self-imposed hermit lifestyle, and that is partly because i meet a lot of new people on a daily basis through the internet as well as having a whole bunch of regular friends online, so that itch gets plenty of scratching without having to physically socialize with anyone.
and when i don't feel like socializing online anymore, its as simply as hitting the "leave" button.
what little physical face-to-face contact i do experience is not plagued by my lifestyle.
i don't get those "bye sir" - "uhh you too" moments that autistic, socially inept people have been meming about for years and years at this point.
I'm satisfied with having friends and family, I don't feel the desire to have a significant other or offspring.

Yeah but the market kinda collapsed at least in my country: all the agregate websites got banned one by one, the only left are full of scammers and barely moderated, and the offer really dwindled because now the nice ones would rather do onlyfans instead. The only good and affordable offer left are the ones barely speaking the tongue and probably shipped in by some ring if you know what I mean...
Social anxiety is a bitch. Let’s try to kick its ass. You could even likely find friends within this, “friendless” community. Keep your chin up. And have some faith in yourselves. Nowhere to go but up, gentlemen.
Fr. Don't shut yourself in the middle of nowhere with nobody to talk to unless you know what you're getting yourself into. one main driving factor that is always forgotten about is that the entire idea of community has been destroyed in the civilized world, think about it friend and family groups are always separated because of jobs, the village concept is where everyone knew one another you'd be able to walk to your friends house and to the bar/ general store all within 15 minutes, your parents or other family members would set you up with someone to eventually marry and there would be commonality and culture all around. all of that has been stripped away from people in developed countries.

Tl;dr

I grew up in the 90s (the best years) before the Internet, before smart phones, etc where you had to socialize. Unfortunately it's not like that anymore and it's created generations of socially awkward, lonely incels.
100%. I was born in '74, and was a kid and young adult in the 90s. I think I was born at the greatest time, bc I was too young in the 80s to partake in the cringey adult type things that people did in the 80s, and was a tween when the grunge scene hit, which was a re-imagining of the 70s, but in a technological birth period. We got PS, but also had STP, AiC, and TOOL, and all of the 70s music to mellow out with. And no smart phones, no FB, Twitter, IG...you made plans, or organically met accidentally, and went off to have an adventure. People are not peopling anymore...

Just East Asia ig. I believe us in SEA are doing okay relationship-wise.

"I am a normal one and everybody else is crazy" - Asmon, "normal" by definition means the majority.
Not necessarily. "Normal" can be referring to a matter of health. Normal = Sane
@@Windrake101 It's what the majority describes when asked "What's normal?". Like, how it's "normal" for old people to have health problems.

It’s the escapism that tricks a person Into thinking life isn’t worth fighting for
We are seeing the effects of one child policy… rural Chinese families only wanted boys if they can only have 1 child. Now there’s woman to man ratio is all fucked
I hear a lot of the same thing here but isn’t the female population higher than male in the US?
Japan never had that policy and they're one of the worst in loneliness.
@@RobertMalachowski cuz men don't want the bottom half of women cuz they're all whales or crazy, so technically still a bad ratio if you remove those
@@Cybertech134 Probably because they've embraced the internet and online consumerism more than any other nation. Their problems aren't the same as China's, which started off as a population size problem.

Hit the gym become huge grow your ego.
Guys with shitty girlfriends are the loneliest men on the planet. I’m glad my life will never stoop to that miserable level.
learn to be alone, not lonely.
Cooked incel take it's like schizo imagination . I hope it's a right wing Bot comments 😂
Crazy
@@jiahao5489 Not quite. There is a flavour of what the OP is saying floating around but mostly that's in the work place (which is where a not-small number of relation ships used to start). I think that sometiems gets conflated to society as a whole although watch this space as such things can spread.

Been seeing this trend in other countrys but the Asian nations on loneliness is a lot dangerous & wild.
*Individuality* is also not welcome in Asia by default.
In *Nordic nations* (where I'm from)
we're used to being alone or having time alone (even in a relationship) but its a completely different culture in *Asia* and how its vewed by the Public - there.
I don't get how you can catch feelings for a girl you've never met irl
simple, they never met a girl irl to know the difference
They replaced experience with expectation. So since that have no foundation of relationships (or they have had poor relationships) they treat these women as how they expect or fantasize dating them would/should be.
there are people that catch feelings for anime girls, AI's and just plain objects.
catching feelings for another human being seems way harder these days.
@@DDracee probably the opposite, they did which is why they prefer the objects and the fantasy over the reality of it.
I think if you’ve never had a relationship your view is gonna be warped.
"so lonely its getting dangerous" is even worse if you think how other people exploit that loneliness for money
In Japan, the idea of rentable company, who were not necessarily courtesans, called "hosts" has been around already in 2009, when I first visited the country, and I bet it had been around a lot longer.
At 32, soon to be 33, people say I am crazy for not dating or liking others, but I rather be alone than deal with all the nonsense.
I don't like kids, don't like people, and when I go home rather a nice and quiet sleep with little annoyance. So far, never felt lonely once but maybe that's because I have good friends and family.
I honestly cannot relate to the loneliness epidemic and I could never be so desperate to chase anyone or give someone money to interact with me.
imagine if most of your family and friends actually made you feel more lonely not less, that's how many people feel.
I'm single with no friends and it... really doesn't bother me that much.

3:40 Back in the day if you where a weirdo, you'd get cut off from all social circles, untill you got so lonely that you canceled your subscription to life. It was a problem everyone ignored, because if you ignored it long enough, it went away. Now with the internet, you can't help but see whats been there all along.

Those "clubs" are very ancient in asia. There always were those places where lonely men go for the evening, and pretty woman entertain them. And there was nothing explicit going on; just music and dances.
I have a serious gambling addiction. I have had it under control for like 10 years now, but i can't even enter for giveaways or raffles because it puts the taste of blood in my mouth. All this to say, you are responsible for your own addictions. If i can drive by casinos and purposefully not look at them, then you can stop your addiction too.
Except casinos and drugs are way easier to avoid and are not necessities to function in modern society.

As an introvert, this galactic level simping is hilarious
As for someone in my 30s being single my whole life, I've learned to channel my hobbies and interests as a way to make actual genuine connections with people and to love myself. So many people get wrapped on the emotional security that some people cant even figure out who they are or what they like. I've taken on so many engaging activities that I can confidently say life is drastically fulfilling when the sense of self discovery is made.

We've also made it so money can get you women and women want money. We're very shallow. Blaming capitalism is crazy, "Oh people want more than they had yesterday and find ways to get it." What a crazy concept people want more, they always want more.
