It's ok to like what you like without trashing someone else. I've seen a lot of Dead and Phish--totally different bands. The Dead was an early influence, but Phish has grown and refined their style way beyond that. Zappa and Santana were also clearly influences. I don't know of ANY other band that can do 237 different songs over 13 shows with no repeats, and own them all. They had another whole show's worth of material they could have played in addition.
only someone who hasn't listened to Phish would say they sound like the Dead. Its completely different. The only thing they took from them was recording every show and long jams. Learn a little bit more about music Polston before you say idiotic statements like that. And they are masters of music. They play every genre of music and have lasted 30+ years. Best live band ever.
