When I was little me and my mom used to sing this song together. We learned the words and would sing it together all the time. But back then I didn't fully understand the meaning of the lyrics, I did somewhat but not all of it. The other day I came across it again and I honestly could have cried. I played it on repeat all day and listened to the lyrics and I'm so happy I did. My mom is such an inspiration to me and I think she already saw what was going to happen before I grew up. In school I've always tried to fit in with everyone else so people would like me and it's gotten to the point that I don't even remember who I was before all the layers of masks were put on. This song has sort is brought me back to reality, in lockdown and I'm very grateful. I'm even now thinking of coming out to my parents because I'm bi and this song has just given me that boost of confidence I needed. Thank you so much !! :)

I love the country songs sung by women, cause their is such a defined line between male and female singers music. Not to say that that’s a bad thing, but it’s very clear to see. Btw I grew up on old and the country that wasn’t trying to be rap or any other genre.
