Great video, Trev. So kindhearted of you to help out the less fortunate. You've walked those streets for years but i never get bored watching it because there's allways something else to see with all these changes.
You're such a good guy, Trev. You really have a great heart. I'm not a fan of pattaya, but I love your channel because of you and your banter and honesty.
As with a couple of other famous "Indian" dishes, the Prawn Puri has it's origins in the UK, and is alleged to have been created in a Bangladeshi restaurant in London. The most famous "Indian" dish of Chicken Tikka Masala was first created at the Shish Mahal (Glass Palace) up in Glasgow. Now under it's 3rd generation Owner / Management. Great family run resturant, in fact the origins of their infamous Chicken Tikka Masala are from Bangladesh as well, that and a tin of Campbell's tomato soup!
Hi Trev, Once, being drunk, After ordering a rather large number of foods at the restaurant at the beginning of chaiapoon, I obviously could not finish all. So I packed up the rest - fried rice, prawn curry and on my way to hotel at Vogue, gave them to a mother and daughter asking for alms. I felt a little odd giving food directly.. That too kind of left over, but not exactly leftovers. I had barely touched the food. Was that ok? Can we give food? Or only money?

Soi 7 is a fun street and decent location not too far from Soi Buakhao. During my January trip I spent a week at Blackwood's hotel. Pretty nice, perhaps a bit too expensive though compared to other decent hotels. They did have a nice free breakfast though along with pool/gym of course.
hi Trev, the agogo was called Silver Star, it was the first agogo i ever went in, you could buy a bucket of ping-pong balls that were worth 10TB each to the girls, it was brilliant launching the full bucket into the air and watching the girls scrambling to collect them! the 69'ers was a great bar, owned by a nice guy called Gary Tupper, it was brilliant for watching F1 on a huge projector screen, been closed for about 5 years or so, but i'm still friends with Gary i have donated 100TB to the guy on Pattaya Klang on a number of occasions, always look out for him, he is very humble when he accepts some help i really like Ali-Baba's, a little expensive but very good food, and the atmosphere with the waiting on staff in traditional outfits is top class!

Thanks for this video Trev! I have been looking for a hat just like the ones on Pattaya Klang you walked past! On a different note... That man taking a "nap" on the sidewalk will make 1000-1500thb a day to sleep on a sidewalk I'm sure and will most likely will top that with this free advertising! There are Thais working hard 8-10 hours a day for 350-500thb! If I see someone on the streets who is disabled in their ability to work, I'll thrown them some cash. That man did not appear to be disabled & if I'm wrong more power you Trev...but it is a dis-service to pay someone to be a bum...that's the very reason there are over 60,000 bums on the streets of Los Angeles & San Francisco!
I used to carry around the Foodland Took Lae Dee placemat which listed many Thai, Chinese, and Western dishes in both English and Thai. That way I could point to the menu at other small shops and usually get what I wanted, sometimes even if not on the menu. You can't exactly to that in your search for Prawn Puri, but I bet if you took a picture of your order at Ali Baba, you will eventually find other Indian restaurants that offer it. Good luck!
i must say the likes of soi 7 and 8 dont seem as popular as they used to be but there still ok hope to try and get back there later in the year got to try one of them samosa another good video

Yes I've been told that 2001-2007 were Pattaya's peak years. My 1st visit was Feb '07, so I too noticed the decline in popularity of both Soi 7&8. This is due in part to the 'plandemic' and the arrival of Tree Town, along with recent addition of another neon nightmare, Myth Night. I'm not a fan of either and after 15 years of discovering LK Metro and witnessing its stratospheric rise in popularity from a sleepy little bargain accommodation center to Agogo Central, that too is wearing a little thin.
I stayed above a bar my first time in pattaya never again. Blaring music until 4 am and then at 7 am you would have the loud delivery drivers or the guy going down the street with a loud speaker trying to sell his crap.

The massage comment you made about people not respecting others. It's been getting worse and worse. Recently had a person who was taking an hour long phone call within the main area of the shop you know where most are getting foot massages.... The staff are too shy or too worried about telling them to be quiet although there are many signs on the walls stating what we all want; peace and quiet. I've had too many massages ruined by people like this recently and I'd love to pipe up loudly and I think they culprits would listen to me however then I'm as bad as them by making a scene in what should be a peaceful environment. I tell the senior staff afterwards but my comments don't seem to ease the issue. I'll say what most are thinking. Russians & Chinese. Enough Said 🙏

Enough Said 🙏
bloody rude that mate!
You're a saint for helping the homeless. Thailand has money for submarines but not for helping their own people.
do what I can when I can mate
You could change "Thailand" to pretty much any country in the world in your comment
