  • Chef Gerard Tice, of the Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston, makes life in the kitchen look easy as pie - specifically, Boston Cream Pie, the heavenly dessert that's actually a cake, as well as the Official State Dessert of Massachusetts. Susan Spencer talks to Tice about how he keeps the hotel's Boston Cream Pie tradition alive.

Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh worked here. Ho Chi Minh was a baker and Malcolm X was a waiter.

If I ever go to Boston I will try it (as long as it's under $10).

I wouldn't order this if it has nuts on it. Why does everything have to have nuts? Any Boston Kreme pie that I ever saw had no nuts. Some of us don't like nuts. Why should we be left out? Make two kinds. One with stupid nuts and then a better version.
