Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
46 years old and I still haven't recovered from Littlefoot's mother dying
I was coming to comment the same but I'm 36!
This movie is the modern day equivalent of Walt Disney's "Bambi".
My brother had months of therapy because of this movie after we saw it in the 80’s. He was so traumatized.
Facts
@@minty_JoeMore like the Gen X version of Bambi, not exactly the modern-day version of that tearjerker. The modern-day equivalent of Bambi is…”Up”, I guess? Maybe “The Wild Robot” might be a contender for the title of “The Modern Bambi” if it sticks the landing this September?
Sorry to be a pedantic MFer, but…🤷🏻♂️😋
Great choice. This director, Don Bluth, made some of the very best animated movies of the 80s. Disney had to up their game to even compete and that's why Disney had a run of classics in the 90s (and I think the Lion King borrowed a little bit from this one). Bluth's other movies in the 80s were The Secret of NIMH, An American Tail, and All Dogs go to Heaven and they're all great
I applaud you for not crying when you watched The Land Before Time, cause when I watched the movie for the first time I balled like a baby😂😂😂😂
46 years old and I still do
Between this, an American tail, and the secret of NIMH, Don bluth owes me STACKS of cash for therapy.
Don't forget RockAdoodle!
Yes, that is George Lucas, creator/director of Star Wars. And Steven Spielberg joining in with George as executive producers. The film soundtrack was done by James Horner, famous for his work on Apollo 13 and Titanic movie soundtracks.
One of the favorite childhood movies.
RIP, Judith Barsi, 1978-1988.
It was very tragic to hear what happened to her, as her father committed double murder -suicide, killing Barsi and her mother. 😔
Both this movie and All Dogs Go To Heaven were released posthumously.
We need to get her to watch All Dogs Go To Heaven. 1. She cries easily and 2. One of the best lines ever "Yeah but this Hood guy's out 30%"
OMGGGGGG - I DONT BELIEVE IT
Why?!! Every time, someone has to remind me of that tragedy. EVERY TIME!!!!
@@ScenecrlyK.S.O.You need to see Watership Down.
@@ScenecrlyK.S.O. why? It's the truth.
Yup yup yup!
I'm in mid 40's, and still use that phrase. My gf is younger, never saw it, says "Adam did you get those item while out?" Yep yep yep. Completely over her head but I laugh internally
In memory of Judith
Those words are actually on her gravestone
this film had me crying ugly tears as a child, I think my mum regretted letting me watch it because I think I got to see it twice and then never again lol 🦕
It still makes me cry ugly tears and im 35 lol
Rooter the GOAT giving Littlefoot some words of wisdom after his mother’s death.
on the grave stone of the girl who played ducky, they had her iconic phrase from this movie " yep yep yep!" they didn't have anything set up for their deaths and had nothing to do with either sides of their family , so a friend of hers from school raised the money when she grew up and gave her and her mother a plaque . they had gone unmarked all that time .
My daughter's favorite movie when she was a little girl. I remember we bought plushies and plastic toys for all the characters. Until Lion King came out - she wanted to be called Ducky.. then Nala.. love the sentiment of this movie.
Oh so you're going to re-traumatize us with this? That's fine 😄 Looking forward to it!
The Land Before Time movie remains a special place in my heart and childhood.
As a child I remember weeping for little Foot when his mom died, at the time I was only 7 years old, so I couldn't process death but I can process the fear of losing a parent and I just couldn't image losing my mom back then.
Mind you this before The Lion King and Pixar movies so The Land Before Time movie was pretty ground breaking at the time.
This movie now has a whole new tragic meaning to me, as a 42 year old now that I lost my mom in 2019...I now feel the grief Little Foot felt and the meaning of life after death, hearing his mom say
" I will always be with you in your heart"
That's how I feel about my mom now, she is always with me and in my heart, I feel her all around me, her soul and energy...I hear her voice everywhere now.
So now when I watch this extraordinary classic movie
it's take a whole new meaning for me now.
when I got older finding out about the tragic story I heard and watched about the 12 year old actress Judith Barsi who played (Ducky) who was brutally murdered by her own father in 1988 right after she did Land Before Time.
Young child actress Judith Barsi was abused, beaten, by her Alcoholic jealous father who was resentful and jealous of her fame and fortune.
He would beat her, and out of stress little Judith Barsi would pluck her own eye brows off and cut herself, other actors and actress on the set of movies and small parts on sitcoms, would see her destress on her when she would come on the set and they reported it to police, because it was getting away of her work and the actors & actresss and producers and crew members would put her under there wings.
Her father was a angry jealous, envious Alcoholic.
One day her mom had enough of the Physical abuse, of both of them, and she left the father for good and her mom was starting the divorce processings.
They had a restraining order against him.
Both Judith Barsi and her mother were starting a new lease in life, her mother got a new home for both of them and moved in, one night well Judith Barsi was asleep in her bed, her father came in and shot her in the head with a shot gun well she slept, the mother heard the gun shot and ran towards her room but her father shot the mom to death also, he then douced the house with Gasoline and tried to burn the house...but only half the home was burnt because the fire department got there on time before the whole house burned down, unfortunately and sadly Judith Barsi & Her mom still got burned parshly.
The father then drove to his shed and shot himself to death.
They are now Buried together, they used to have unmarked graves, there little Plaques desolved into the grown and got lost until Judith Barsi fans and some Hollywood actors came together bought both Judith Barsi and mother new big beautiful grave stones for her fans, friends, and family to visit.
It was one of Hollywoods most saddest and tragic Grizzly murders in history, it was the end of an extraordinary little young girl who had her career cut short, leaving eveyone saying (What could have been) cutting short a young fledgling career of such an innocent angel.
(The Land Before Time) and( All Dogs Go To heaven) were her two last films and most iconic movies before her tragic death.
She was a promising young actress and she was a kind hearted little Angel.
RIP Judith Barsi aka Ducky yup! yup!
(1978-1988) 🕊️🕊️ ❤️ 😇 👒🥿
I get very emotional when I hear her cute little voice when she portrays (Ducky) in the Land Before Time, it's so innocent and so adorable...my heart weeps And it tugs at my heart Everytime I hear that little angels voice.
Oh man, get a box of tissues or 2 ready...the feels of this movie
The music was composed by the late James Horner, known for scoring Braveheart, Jumanji and Titanic to name a few. He really was one of the best of the era.
Duckie! Fyi the girl who voiced Duckie (and Ann Marie from All Dogs Go To Heaven) got killed by her dad over jealousy over her success. Sad.
Oh wow that is sick and tragic.
@@etc7070 Agreed there. Both those movies owe her voice talent to the success. Yep yep yep....as Duckie would say
We are in the darkest timeline
I cried when I heard what happened to Judith Barsi. She was taken so young, I can’t imagine a parent killing their own child. How heartbreaking, i believe the wife was going to take Judith and move her and her daughter away from her husband, but ironically she lost everything because she didn’t want to divorce her husband
That was horrible. She was also the voice of Annemarie from all dogs go to heaven. That was her last movie. I cried too.
@@serenitytoepperI watched that movie when I was younger and petrified me. Still petrifies me as of today haven’t watched it since then
OMG - SO SAD
Can't wait for this one! A masterpiece!
Yo I really recommend checking out sequels 2-5 and 7 too. Not that the other movies aren't worth watching, but in my opinion, those 5 are the highlights of the franchise.
As terrible as it was that Judith was killed by her father it goes much beyond that. He was an abusive drunk that absolutely terrorized her and her mother, constantly threatened to kill them. He told other people he would. So tragic. .She deserves to be remembered, such a little angel. Tiny little innocent thing.
The deepest part of the tragedy is that nobody believes him when he said he would.
yeah i remember reading how she was ripping her hair out as a trauma response and when she showed up for the Jaws Revenge premiere she was really shakened, cause apparently before they left he took a knife and put it to her throat and told her if she and mum didn't come back he'd kill them. But he ended up doing it regardless, all out of jealousy.
I saw this in highschool in the 80s... loved the little girl dino saying she could get her OWN fooooood. ❤
This movie is so good. I still cry every time I watch it. Never fails. Still one of my favorite movies from my childhood.
I forgot how much this movie hurt.
“See! See! See, you’re- I’m not gonna call you stupid!” 😂 love the levity.
LOL
Omg this is my favorite animated film 💜 SO happy you're reacting to it.
Ooooohhhhh!! I need to hydrate in advance for this haha. I always cry
Highly suggest reacting to the following overlooked animated movies:
Charlotte's Web (1973)
Wizards (1977)
The Hobbit (1977)
Heavy Metal (1981)
The Last Unicorn (1982)
The Flight Of Dragons (1982)
The Secret Of NIMH (1982)
Fire & Ice (1983)
The Adventures Of Mark Twain (1985)
An American Tail (1986)
Kaena: The Prophecy (2003)

I suggest turning on subtitles, since you might have mute all the music.
7:14 - 90s kids had Mufasa, 80s kids had Littlefoot's Mom.
Facts.
"Don't lose your way with each passing day, you've come so far, don't throw it away~"
One of my childhood films. I cry everytime watching this film. The song at the end is my all time favourite song.
Diana Ross - If we hold on togheter.
Thankyou for watching this one 😊
Great reaction Kemi! I highly recommend reacting to Don Bluth's most well known film (which is animated) "The Secret Of Nimh" from 1982. Bluth also was the producer of "The Land Before Time".
2nd for Secret of Nimh !!
Third! N.I.M.H. is Don Bluth's personal favorite; a great storyline, great cast and being able to apply techniques in animation that was once thought as "too costly". Just as visually stunning as his later films (An American Tail, Land Before Time, All Dogs Go to Heaven) of the 1980s.
For me this movie is a classic and I grew up with it as a little girl myself, all of the land before times movies not just this movie, but all of them and honestly even as an adult looking back at it all now there is so much that they try to teach us back then and they put messages in the movies and for kids and honestly I still love that there's a lot of friendship lessons and things to learn that they try to teach in each and every movie, and honestly it's still as a special place in my heart.
One of my all time favorite childhood movies.
Some very powerful lessons that can be learned from this movie.
Such a beautiful reaction to a great movie.
Thanks so much for sharing this.
Love, prayers and abundance of blessings and a Merry and blessed Christmas to you and your family ❤️🙏
I love the cherry scene! 😊🍒
This is definitely a film I had to see in theaters as a kid, having loved dinosaurs and loving animation.
If you have not already, I would love you to check out another of Don Bluth's movies, The Secret of Nimh. It is probably one of my favorite animated films of all time.
The music in this movie is amazing ❤
this film kills me I just can't especially the scene with him crying in her footprint 😭😭😭😭
It was directed also by Steven spielberg
I grew up with the 1st 3 movies then found out there are another 10. I watched them all during lockdown a few years ago lol
One of my all-time fav series growing up! These were the videos that came out whenever I was home sick from school! Love them so much!!
I watched this as a kid and the dinosaur in the bushes FREAKED ME THE F OUT.
Land before time is MY childhood. I watched them all, and by all i mean those of the 80ties and 90ties ❤❤❤ littleffod and his friends are so great, full of good messages and love ❤❤❤ thank you for watching it. Hope you continue at least to movie 5 those are the classics of Land before time. 😊😊😊
What's this? The Land Before Time? Next thing you know, they'll have you reacting to Fern Gully!
Happy nearly Christmas 🎄 to everyone 🙏🎁🥳🥰
This is the first movie I ever saw in a movie theatre.
Don Bluth is truly one of the best filmakers out there.
I have the entire series of these movies...My kids and grandkids love all of them...Thanks for the reaction.
Mother death always hits hard
One of my favorite childhood movies.
Watched it with my mom and the strongest memory of it is us both crying alot during it.
Beautiful movie
This is the first movie I remember seeing in the theaters
This movie always makes me cry 😭
Youd love 'RockAdoodle'
Tami you are going to absolutely love this film! And I urge you to have a tissue box because while it is a loving family film, it’s also emotional. It’s almost like watching The Lion King, but with dinosaurs.
🦕🦖🩶🧡💚💛🤎🩵
I know about dinosaurs and I can model and animate them in blender.
Saw this a long time ago I think when I was little! Tuning in from So. Cal USA 🇺🇸 love your channel KSO! ❤️❤️ love to all!
I think there in Florida at that time they have earthquakes instead of honorees and wings 😊
Did you really just watch Mrs. Foot die and NOT cry??? I definitely expected you to grab a tissue 😋
Do the whole series ^^
I remember getting this movie in a happy meal at mcdonalds
Favorite Land Before Time Characters
1.Littlefoot
2.Ducky
3.Cera
This movie is so timeless!!
Oh wow. I haven't seen this cartoon in ages. Shiny pee pi no no 😂😂😂
A very long time since I seen ❤
I really love Land Before Time, I recently rewatched all 14 movies and the episodes that was aired from Cartoon Network before. I'm glad you watched this, I'm wondering if you are watching the other movies too. It isn't as good quality in story as this one but most of the songs are so heartwarming. Some sequels are bad but the good ones are worth seeing too ❤
Sad fact. The little girl who voiced Ducky was murdered by her father.
sooo sad
As much as I love The Land Before Time I refuse to watch the movie 😂😂😂😂
Hello, I await your reaction to Toy Story 3...
Goddamn, that opening narration is epic.
I wonder how many sequels came out after this?
EDIT: There were 13 sequels. Also, a tv series. I remember a few. 2nd one was the only one I really liked(had it on VHS). One of them had ALIENS, of all things, lol.
One of my childhood favorites 😭 I probably cry more as an adult watching this movie. It made me love "long necks" the most 🥲 I'm glad you got to watch it!
Kemi thank you for this reaction. This was such an amazing film when I was young and it holds a dear place in my heart as well as the sequels. I would love for you to see the remaining 13 sequels.
