      +hatice bayrak Exactly. Jimmy was absolutely disgusted with his mother by the time he went to his death. The way he looks at her in the episode prior was so sad. He knew she wanted to be the "mother" now that Ang was gone. When she said Tommy would've even remember, that REALLY upset him. It was nice that Richard made sure Tommy really did remember his mother (not meemaw). Jimmy never would've left Tommy alone with just Gillian, but knowing Richard was provided for (at least for the time being) he knew Richard could help out Gillian w/ Tommy.

So cool the dynamic between the two and that this had to be the last time they saw each other. Jimmy tells Richard "It's time to come home" but secretly, he's even more broken than Richard is, dealing not only with PTSD but the self hatred that inevitably comes with incest. The first time I watched this scene I saw this as Jimmy legitimately consoling Richard, being someone who has faced war and managed to reintegrate into daily life, which is easy to believe since not having half of your face blown off is definitely a good thing. Watching it again, Jimmy's definitely more fucked up. Even if he considered suicide, Harrow decided that he wanted to live. Jimmy didn't have the slightest doubt that he wanted to die. One of the best series of all time, it's a shame the last season wasn't quite up to par.

He would've observed from a distance, acquired his targets (Nucky and Co.) and waited for things to go south. When Eli pulled the shotgun, he would've been dropped followed by Owen and Manny, leaving Nucky for Jimmy. Jimmy invited his own execution, and made it clear to Richard.

    Yeah he knew he was getting whacked. That's why throughout the episode he's seen playing with his son, trying to make amends with Nucky and getting drunk with Richard. He knew his time was running out so he wanted to make as many rights as he could before the end. That's why he didn't even bring a gun.

    I wonder if Richard knows it was Mickie Doyle that assisted in setting up both Jimmy and Angela. Keep giggling,Mickie, Richard will be there for you soon.

    Richard and Jimmy were the only ones who knew what the other had been through. When you come back from a war, you have no choice but to adjust to society. Life doesn't wait or stop for anyone, and it can be easy for veterans to get left behind.

    Yeah of course i mean hes the only character that stars in the opening of the show, the recorded beginning of each episode . If anything when they decide to end the show he might be killed off or who knows but it wont happen until the last episode or last season but thats a stretch.

    Personally, if I had the choice to see Richard more throughout the series with the potential of him getting killed versus leaving him alone and alive, I might prefer the latter route. However, I think there's still more in store for his character. Nucky killed Jimmy after all. I think if Richard finds out about it - which is most definitely possible - things may get interesting.

    Excuse me if this is a dumb question, but it seems that Jimmy is dressed in different attire during the scene where he will be executed. When he left the house, he was not dressed in this attire. Did he change in his car? I know the directors wanted the effect of him shutting the door in sync with the thunder, leaving in the midst of a storm... but it all just seems a little unreasonable.

    Jimmy should have been the central character in this show not Nucky. Jimmy had so much happen to him that they could have taken this character which ever direction they wanted but decide to kill him so Nucky can become a "Full Gangster" he still looks and acts like a bitch to me. If Hatrrow had gone with Jimmy and had sniper to back up Jimmy I wonder who he’d shoot first. You’d assume he’d shoot Nucky first since he has the gun to Jimmy’s head but then again Harrow thinks positively of Nucky and his family as shown later on when they meet

    • @JaegerMeister808
      @JaegerMeister808 2 года назад

      I’d say Eli then Owen. I think he’d shoot Nucky in the arm and then the same for Manny. Leave those two alive for Jimmy to finish it.

    I loved watching this show, but sadly the day they killed off Jimmy, I was done with it. I've not watched this show since. As far as I'm concerned, Jimmy was the best character they had. Killing off was plain stupid. Michael Pitt and Steven Buscemi were a great team and had great chemistry. The only reason I watched this was because of Michael Pitt. Once again the studio got it wrong.

    if Richard gets knocked off it's because Nucky's still alive. Nucky's the only one who really knows Richard and what he's capable of. but aside from that you're right, he's basically a ghost.

    I dont think so. If the two went together prepared for war, Nucky Owen Manny and Eli wouldnt have stood a chance. Jimmy and Richard could have won, Jimmy chose not to. Besides his own personal turmoil, I think he realized he didnt want to be King of Atlantic City, after he was for a short time. It was an empty life, and didnt fill the void in his life like he thought it would. I think Jimmy chose death.
    Owen and Manny are badasses no doubt, but Richard would have taken them out first.

    ...and then Jimmy goes off to die...EXACTLY in the way that Richard had been killing others...an inch below the eye. Both of them break my heart. When Jimmy says " I died years ago in the trench"...somehow you feel a tiny portion of the hurt they'd been carrying (and dealing) all along.
