yesterday´s men and one better day are their greatest songs to me, just like the stranglers they developed creatively in an amazing way no one would have expected
If the drummer's right about some of the band wanting to go in for the synth sound of the mid eighties it would have been godawful. I like a bit of synth pop but it wouldn't have suited Madness at all. If he means they wanted to replace the rhythm section it does seem a bit...brutal. Maybe it was more of a personalites clash and they'd split into camps...
How can you not love this wonderful band?
They deserve their place in musical history.
Madness after 43 years my heart still melts 😍
They played my 30th birthday! It was such a great show, they even recorded and released it!
Ok, so they were going to play anyway.
At the beginning with Lee - that child is now in his/her 40's. What a legacy to be proud of!
Her. There's a video on here somewhere of a bit she did on the One Show talking about being the subject of the song. Very moving.
I WAS AT THE FIRST MADSTOCK!
IT WAS WICKED! BEST CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN TO!
