  • On Nov. 21, 1945, Justice Robert H. Jackson delivered his opening statement at Nuremberg. Based on the original recordings held at the World Court, this is Part 2 of his Opening. Sections presented here include "Terrorism and Preparation For War," "Experiments n Aggression," "War of Aggression," "Conspiracy With Japan," "Crimes in the Conduct of War," "The Law of the Case," "The Crimes Against Peace," "The Law of Individual Responsibility," "The Political, Police and Military Organizations," and "The Responsibility of This Tribunal." It is to be noted that the oral presentation was not verbatim of the official IMT transcript. His presentation included some ad-libs, variations in wording and editing. See Prof. John Q. Barrett's article "No Poisoned Chalice." (copyright 2013). This post is further enhanced by Court TV's coverage of the Nuremberg Trial on it's 50th anniversary.
