First credited means top billing. It depends on the actor's popularity and how much the producers want them, it doesn't matter what role the play, leading or supporting.

I actually think it should Timothee's name first. I don't think it means "top billing" or "most known", but yeah maybe, I don't remember seeing something like that in other movies, actors that portray protagonists always come first!
Yeah the first billed should always be the main character. Not a supporting one. Imagine The Shape of Water where Sally Hawkins is not credited first because she isn't as well known as Octavia Spencer.
Armie is too handsome to be underrated. Oliver in CMBYN really is his breakout role. Definitely deserves an Oscar nomination. Hope the member can see it. And hopefully CMBYN can win BEST PICTURE too. To me, it's really the best picture of the year. There was never a film that can reach to my heart like CMBYN. Great job on the casts and crews.

Call Me By Your Name was incredible! I’ve watched it at least 10 times now (I need help lol). Everything about it was so beautiful from the cinematography to the chemistry between the actors to how the imagery from the book was bought to life. It should at least be nominated for an Oscar but it doesn’t have to win one.

I first saw Armie for major role in a movie was The Lone Ranger which was a shitty movie, so i was little bit sceptical about Call Me By Your Name until i saw that movie, and man.... I LOVE HIM! his character, acting, and chemistry with Timmy was amazing!! One of my favorite movies in 2017

Abdelrahman Elbedawy 1st the story in general is stupid, 2nd it's too long (2 hours +) with that shallow & unworthy story to watch, 3rd the lack chemistry between Johnny & Armie (we know that wasn't Armie / Johnny's fault because they're great actors), 4th Johnny was literally Jack Sparrow in Indian costume, 5th it's a big budget movie so I'm expecting at least decent quality. i can go on and on with things that are wrong with that movie actually 😋😙
Ps. In an interview Armie mention that there's one movie where he got the leading role but he hate it, he didn't mention the movie but i think we know what movie he's talking about

While I’m not really a film critic, I feel that I’ve seen a substantial variety of incredible works in my life from The Pianist to A Beautiful Mind to Forrest Gump, Spotlight, etc. but Call Me By Your Name very well may be the greatest movie I have ever seen... & I mean that as no exaggeration. I hope you get to experience it while it’s in theaters. It is truly sublime.
It is certainly a beautiful film . . . but "the most beautiful?" I think I'd choose "The Painted Veil" for that honor. Or perhaps "Lawrence of Arabia."

Okay...I just love how Hollywood acts like they are all about the Me too movement. Then they give awards to a movie about an adult male seducing a young boy and make it so beautiful that you forget that it is filthy business indeed. I know men who have suffered greatly for their whole adult life because some older man messed with them when they were a teenager. Actually some of the ones I knew are dead because they ended up with Aids. It is the ultimate selfish act on the part of an adult. I am astounded at the people that are holding this up as some kind of wonderful experience. Shame on all of you!
Obviously, you did not see the film. It is about a 17 year old (soon to be 18) who seduces a 24 year old and their consensual love affair. A beautiful film!
