Finally. I don't understand why people don't like this album and the next. I have them both on repeat
they don't like them maybe cause they are too personal, and I guess some people just like the idea of Lana putting metaphor on dark things with poppy rythmed sounds. I love blue banisters it's like reading her secret journal
currently obsessed with Blue banisters (not as much as b4 in 2021) but it’s so good! a lot of underrated songs 💙
cuz they’re simple ppl who love simple music 😒
Honestly, I love Lana, but Chemtrails is my least favorite album. I'm sure the meanings are deep, but the music itself isn't very "listenable" like her other work. It's very poetic, I just personally don't like the inconsistent rhythms and lack of rhyme scheme in some songs where it seems like she's kinda talking. The songs also aren't very different from each other.
@@RohanBlum I understand what u are saying but her music has never been listenable since day 1. All her albums need to spend time with. I can't say it's my favorite of hers but it has so many good songs. And I still can't get over dark but just a game and the bridge in dance till we die
this album was a epivetal moment in her career and for herself I think. After this, we started to see less and less of Lana Del Rey and so much more of Elizabeth Grant. Her next two albuns are her most vulnerable and brutally honest ones, thats why chemtrails feels so breeze and minimalistic, it really feels like a state of self-reflection incapsulated in time. Loving your reactions, youre so great at analyzing lyrics ❤
You absolutely nailed the theme of this album in this statement:
“And now in Chemtrails Over The Country Club it seems like she finally realized if she just doesn’t put any expectations on herself, doesn’t let others do it, just does it for herself or for someone she loves, or for no reason at all… that’s where she finds happiness.”
Wild at heart is my fav song in this album. "The cameras have flashes, they cause the car crashes" always makes me think of Princess Diana 🥺
Tulsa Jesus Freak was originally called White Hot Forever which was supposed to be the album title. After she found out the man who the song was about was cheating on her she changed the song and album title. She also talks about that man in A&W on Ocean Blvd.
Omg I didn’t know that before I’m so glad I know that now.
she also only bought 1 billboard to advertise the album and it was in Tulsa, where the man lived lmao
@@frankiej1637I remember that 😭😂
His name was Sean and he is from Tulsa Oklahoma, so referring Tulsa Jesus Freak to him in connection that he is from Tulsa and is very religious is her politely calling him out “ you should stay real close to Jesus!”
What does White Hot Forever mean?
The chorus of "Wild at Heart" is actually directly sampling the bridge of "How to Disappear"
Why am I just find this out omgg
🤯🤯🤯
Even wilder than that actually! (haha get it I'm so funny) The melody of the pre chorus is almost identical to the chorus of "love song", the instrumental of the chorus is the same as the bridge of "how to disappear", and the melody of the chorus is almost the same as the melody from the verses of "hope is a dangerous thing...". It's almost like a medley of NFR and I love it.
For Free is actually a Joni Mitchell cover. Which is cute cause in Dance Till We Die she says “covering Joni” ❤
White Dress is one of my favorites Lana songs ever! Chemtrails is definitely an album to hear when you want to feel peace and just relax
In "Breaking up Slowly" when she says, "I don't wanna end up like Tammy Wynette", it could also be referencing an incident from 1978 where Tammy claimed she was kidnapped outside of a department store in Nashville, TN and driven 80 miles away before they let her go. She suffered a broken cheek bone and some other minor injuries in the attack. However, after she passed away, her kids claimed the kidnapping was staged to cover up a domestic violence incident with her husband George, because she was too embarrassed to publicly be known as a DV victim when her most famous song was "Stand by Your Man", a song about staying with your man no matter what he does.
She recently changed the lyrics of Chemtrails while performing live to “He’s born in December and he got married when we were still together,” she sang. “Sometimes I wonder what his wife would think if she knew that I didn’t know anything/ He’s born in December and I’m born in June/ He’s born in December and he got married while we were in couple’s therapy together.”
😮
I WAS THERE FOR THIS
White Dress was recorded in that voice register as a ''joke'', Lana and Jack just having fun in the studio, but finally they both liked it that way. And For Free is actually a Joni Mitchell cover. I love you analysis of the album!
I read your comment and realized that the first line in Dance till we Die is “I’m covering Joni”
The next 3 before the Grammys?! Go Cass go! 😂
I think Lana is a genius to start the album talking about how she started singing in the streets, and end it talking about a man who sings in the street for free as she plays for fortune. It's like closing the circle.
Love all your reactions, as always! ❤️
I can’t WAIT for her to hear kintsugi and fingertips. She will never be the same after those 2.
I honestly didn't like these songs on first listen but they definitely grew on me later, especially kintsugi
ive loved fingertips since my first listen but theres something about kintsugi i just cant *feel* like the rest of her songs despite the beautiful lyrics :( i have the same problem with margaret (but i think thats mostly bc of jack's vocals). hopefully when we get the ocean boulevard reaction cass's analysis will open my eyes! @@Angel-xi6vv
You were born to interpret Lana’s music! I am a Lana Stan and I still get blown away by your analysis every single time and that too on the first listen! So happy tunnel under ocean blvd is coming so soon, we deserve a 2 hour video for that probably there’s just so much to unpack ❤️
My favourite song at first listening was also Dark But Just A Game. This album had the bad luck to came after NFR. I think Lana knew that people would compare the next album to NFR so she decided to keep it simple. I love it so much because it was released when the pandemic was still on and it was very relaxing to hear, specially title track has something very chill about it. Blue Banisters has also a very "pandemic" sound to me, she mentions it in the lyrics. I loved your reaction!! ❤
blue banisters is messy but you’re gonna love it however “did you know…” is some of her best work yet
It’s her best one so far
chemtrails is better than ocean blvd
@@korololo8466me when I lie
@@korololo8466hell no
im a loyal honeymoon girl but i have to admit dykttatuob is such a masterpiece
This album and the next are INCREDIBLE!!! We needed some experimental folk music from her!
I need a Lana county album but not too country more like country mixed with her style.
This one?! YES
Next one??? Ugh🤮
they're both beautiful i dont understand the hate @@melg6834
@@melg6834 WHATTT I actually love Blue Banisters. Dealer is the best song on that album tho
Blue Banisters is for people who love Ultraviolence. It’s basically the softer bsides to that album.
Soooo excited for the next two! Also important - Spotify doesn’t have lyrics for ocean blvd for some reason, wanted to let you know bc I know you are a lyric girlie! Aaaaand I know you stopped doing music videos but the videos for chemtrails over the country club (song) and candy necklace from ocean blvd are absolutely iconic and a must watch!!
I hear people talking about their souls leaving their body during songs, that’s what the end of Chemtrails (the song) is like for me. And Keep Dancing Til We Die’s bridge is god tier. I could do with a whole album of it. I feel like BB is controversial but I love it and hope you do too!
It’s kinda hard to find love when your used to rolling like a rolling stone, yeah ❤️❤️❤️
This might be her most "unique" album, not only in concept, but musically. It's so streamlined yet so diverse. I'll die on the hill that it's one of her best bodies of work. Also, to go along with your commentary on "White Dress," I'm not sure how much you know of her story with relation to the media, but she definitely has no love for how she's been treated over the years, beginning with when she was drug through the mud at the time of Born to Die's release. She still has to justify herself and her story to this day because of all the bullshit rumors and gossip she has to hear about herself. It's honestly very sad. That woman has nerves of steel.
We want a chemtrails music video reaction. It's one of her best if not the best
Totally agree
People with impeccable taste understand that this is a top 3 LDR album thank you
Just some background:
Tammy Wynette and George Jones (referenced on the lawn), had a very abusive but infamous relationship for many years. Tammy was considered the First Lady of Country Music. He was actually arrested for being drunk and riding his lawn mower to the bar and (rumored) to have shot at Tammy.
It is also believed that her husband, George Richie (not the same one), fed her pills and killed her to gain her fortune. She had many surgeries through the years and died very young.
She is a country music legend and one of my favorites.
Listen to “Stand By Your Man”. One of the most iconic songs of all time.
" I don't wanna break up with this man, i kind like this one" honey, you've got a big storm comin'
So underrated by everyone including fans, but I love this one. Too folky and country sometimes. A gorgeous album! Yosemite is a gem
The next album, BLUE BANISTERS has slowly but surely creeped up to the top of my most favorite Lana album!!! So excited and can't wait for you to react to it!!
Please, Lana fans, correct me if I'm wrong, but I want to add context to why she went from a grandiose album (NFR, and my fave Lana album btw) to a very chill album as you said (Chemtrails):
Yes, you are correct. Lana received a lot of acclaim from critics and fans alike for NFR and for the first time in her career I feel like she was finally understood, or so she thought. While she was riding the highest wave of her career, during that time she was also cancelled by many as well because of some controversies online (won't get into that), she broke up with a guy I feel like she thought was the one (the Tulsa Jesus Freak because he lives in Tulsa), and then the pandemic hit, so all in all I feel like the NFR era ended up pretty badly for her. She went from the TOP to the literal PITS. I also feel like during this time she kind of took a step back from being out there (she even closed her original Instagram account) and grew closer to her family and female friends. I feel like Chemtrails is the start of a Lana who isn't that crazy chick anymore, I don't think she's actually being sarcastic in Chemtrails, she actually is enjoying the simpler life and simple things and being a simple person. And you will continue to hear more of that Lana in her next two projects. I mean, Ocean Blvd was even dedicated to her family, or so she said.
Hope that clarifies!
I love her voice in White Dress, like reminiscing about the past is so emotional you can barely speak
The women she mentions in "Dance till we Die" are Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Courtney Love and of course Stevie Nicks.
All incredible women who have greatly inspired Lana and who she is good friends with now.
You should check out "pink champagne" it's an unreleased song, demo of let me lov u like a woman, it's so good
^^ I didn’t like “Let Me Love You Like a Woman” at first and then I discovered “Pink Champagne” and it changed my whole perspective on the song!
I truly understood Chemtrails after watching the White Dress + CoCC music videos, the latter being one of her best ever, and listening to the album through multiple times. It is something special, to be listened through nonstop
I am very excited for your Blue Banisters reaction. It is really up your street :)
Once your done with the rest of her albums out you should listen aka lizzy grant it’s her unreleased album before her fame and it’s REALLY good. She has a lot of unreleased songs that r amazing.
Technically it was released at some point but got recalled. But yes I agree she should react to Lana's unreleased songs after!!
YES I love that she ends the album on someone else's voice. Something about some of my favorite artists (Lana, Beyonce) is that they always highlight others and are willing to share the spotlight. Earnest collaboration is so important in the dark game she's in. Can't wait for the Blue Banisters and Tunnel reactions--they really piece together Lana's narratives she's been building for the past decade.
An important lesson everyone switching from apple music to Spotify should learn is Apple Music has the real lyrics from sources but Spotify’s lyrics are wrong a lot of the time😭
oh god
I'm honestly shocked no one else is talking about this 😭 the worst was when they put "we could get high on something trippy" instead of "some pink champagne" on LMLYLAW
Wait until you realise they dont have ANY lyrics of ocean blvd@@officialcassreacts
This is the best moment of my life. I’ve been waiting for this whole whole life actually cause I love ur Lana reactions
IT'S FINALLY HERE
blue banisters is my favorite album, i think you'll love it even more
Omg yes! I hope you’ll be able to fit all three albums in before February, can’t wait to watch, us lana stans love you!!!
this album gives me nostalgia about stuff i’ve never experienced and that’s my favorite thing about it. cotcc, white dress and dark but just a game are my absolute favorites ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹 happy new year btw!!!!!!! omg i remember watching your first lana reaction in spring i believe and it’s been almost a year!!! love your videos 🙏🏼❤️
I've been checking for this video since yesterday, and I had a feeling it would be posted today. I'm so excited; what a pleasant surprise for after work
Yess Finally!! Blue banisters is very underrated and there's clearly a theme in that album, Family, sisterhood, healing and yes miss Corona virus but for some reason people call it "messy". The sound is also very varied and more diverse than CoCC. Can't wait for Blue banisters and certainly waiting for Ocean blvd because that one is a masterpiece.
Ocean Blvd is going to change your life ugh I can’t wait
This could not come at a more perfect time
Girl, I really love your review/ reaction and how you get to explain your side understanding behind the lyrics! Best Lana album reaction so far! ✨💛
Chemtrails and Blue Banisters are one of my personal favorite albums. Back in 2021, My bestfriend and I used to listen to it everyday while smoking and having coffee on the balcony, I introduced him to Lana and it made him a fan. But now we're a thousand miles away and he stopped talking to me and ghosted me for no reason. I miss him so much. Wishing him luck in his acting career.
Thanks for your lovely reaction, Cass! You never fail to amaze me. So excited for Blue Banisters and Ocean Blvd! You better get ready on angry Lana especially on "Dealer" 😁
Happy New Year!!!
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE TURN IT UPPPPPPP… I really really have a deep connection with this album, idk why. It’s just so special to me, I think because of the nostalgia that revolves around it even though it wasn’t that long ago 😭 I LOVE ITTTT, THIS is in my top 3 at the moment FOR SURE!!
We waited so long for this. 😭 I feel like this album is very underrated. Especially because of how quickly after Blue Bannisters came out.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS CASSIEEEE
I simply loved your reaction! The interpretations of most of the songs are so good and deep! Beautiful analysis to a very smooth album! ♥️
I WAS SO WAITING AND READY FOR THIS
GIRL, I was thinking about your lana journey yesterday! 😊
Omg i feel excited whenever I see you upload
It’s my birthday and you uploading is the best gift ever, thank you.❤
i’m so excited for the next one!!! blue banisters is my favorite lana album and i really hope you enjoy it
happy new year!! i missed your lana reactions!!
You should listen to Titanic Rising by weyes blood i swear you are gonna love it (Andromeda and picture me better are the best songs ever)
Hi Cass. Proud to be a new subscriber to your channel. Love all of your reactions. Regardless of whether they are in music, television, or movies. You have such a congenial, delightful personality and a calm, soothing manner. Keep up the great work.
In tulsa jesus freak she just experimented with audiotune just to create art, I think it‘s a good way to use it and the work is creative
Weyes Blood, featured on "For Free" has two of my favorite albums of all time
Titanic Rising is chef's kiss
'Titanic Rising' and 'And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow' are two masterpieces

Let's not overlook "Front Row Seat To Earth"
I’m so excited to see your reaction to Blue Banisters!! It’s my favorite album of Lana’s☺️
something trippy part like the pink champagne. He says this in the unreleased version of the song. This is the unreleased name.
Also in regards to the line about “no rose left on the vine”, obviously it could be a very literal metaphor, but I saw someone say before (long time back) that it could also allude to Hollywood in that Vine is an iconic street there. Its intersection with Hollywood Blvd is a known symbol of Hollywood itself. So the line essentially could be saying there is nothing good, pretty or pure left in Hollywood, just the vine which is bare and sharp/ dangerous.
I got giggling and kicking my feet and questioning reality as soon as i saw the notification!
so excited for your reactions to arcadia and living legend on the next album. you will LOVE them
Love your videos. I hope you will watch with us the Lana videos after your album journey. A lot of gems there. Especially chemtrails is one of my favorites
definitely my favorite album of hers. i’ll truly never get why some people don’t like it
One of her best albums 😭😭😭♥️
i love this album so much. its so comforting, it feels like a hug. it reminds me of beggining of spring, getting out of winter. it really grew on me :,)!
I loved your reaction ! ❤
can you pls do a saltburn reaction? would love to hear your thought on that one. also i’m really looking forward to you posting letterboxd reviews!!
YAY THE DAY HAS COME!!
The narrative on this is the more conceptual, so excited for ocean, it has become my favorite
I can’t wait for you to have a Mitski era 😺😺
50:25 that lyric hits different after listening to fingertips on did you know theres a tunnel under ocean blvd.
Im so eager for the next two albums omg🤭😍cant wait for your Ocean Blvd reaction its her best album
No it isn't.
I’ve been a big Lana fan since day one, slightly obsessed tbh. But your interpretation are so on point and help me understand her lyrics in ways that never crossed my mind. I’m sure the poet in her appreciates this.
I love this album soooo much 😭 it really helped me grow as a person.
I’ve missed your Lana reactions, girlie💕…you really break down the lyrics, and I always get something out of your interpretations that I haven’t thought of. AND I feel absolutely VALIDATED, since Dark But Just A Game and Dance Til We Die are my favorite moments on this album.
You’re 100% correct that Lana really begins to grow and change from NFR on. This album, Blue Bannisters, and Ocean Blvd are albums you need to let breathe and grow.
This album and Blue Bannisters almost seem like therapy for Lana, and she seems to really find some inner strength, because Ocean Blvd is so wise and beautiful, so honest and vulnerable, like she isn’t afraid to embrace who she is.
Every Lana album has its place in my life and heart, but truly, NFR and Ocean Blvd are my favorite children. Although every album contains something I can’t live without.
TITLE TRACK SUPREMACY 🧎♀️🧎♀️
I have to agree w u
Couldn’t agree more
I was waiting for thissssss
as a cinephile i'm so excited for your movie reviews
yeeees I'm so excited you're getting to Ocean Blvd soon!!! 🤩
Chemtrails is so underappreciated! I'm happy you saw the beauty in it ♥ I bet your poetry brain is gonna have a blast with the next 2 albums, I can't wait :)
The gasp I gusped when I saw this on my timeline I haven’t started and I’m so pumped
You are the QUEEN of Lana del Rey reactions ✨❤❤❤
I really love ur lana del rey reactions, can't wait to see her last album reaction ❤ keep going
So excited for blue banisters, it grew so much on me the last year.
And if you like visuals the mv for chemtrails references the book women who run with the wolves and is so cool ❤
OKAY!
Thought:
"Keep that bottle at your hand my man,
Find your way back to my bed again". - This couplet is Lana telling her boo what his options are; he can't hold on to her AND the alcohol.
"Trade this body for that can of gin" - is Lana trying to convince her man to choose her over the liquor.
Truth: I never fully pondered the meaning of Tulsa Jesus Freak, but I know the song by heart and it's actually one of my favorites on this album because of its sound, but I now after listening to it, this is what I think!
I need your A&W analysis yesterday...
I agree, I’m a HUGE fan of her vocals on white dress. So intimate, so beautiful, so soft but broken. And the nostalgic lyrics 🤍
i'm so excited for your blue banisters reaction i think you'll love dealer and black bathing suit so much considering how much you loved dance till we die
I know you don’t usually react to music videos but the chemtrails title track video is lots of fun and very surprising!! I recommend watching it
Hey y’all ! Wishing you a good and nice year, i hope everything will be fine and comfy ❤ keep safe !
i love ur lana reactions sm and ik you’re focused on her rn but you should react to preachers daughter by ethel cain. it is truly a masterpiece of storytelling and it is entirely self written and self produced, she even played all the instruments by herself. even if you don’t do a full fledged reaction to it i highly recommend giving it a listen!
49:15 you're gonna know more about it in the next albuns
i can't wait for your reaction to blue banisters! i love that album
COTCC was a bit of a grower for me too, but I personally loved blue banisters from the first time I ever listened to it. That one and ocean boulevard are a bit more heavy in its lyrics so be prepared, I had to take breaks the first time
SEATED for this u have quickly become my fav reacting channel!
also did you switch from apple music to spotify? because ocean blvd still doesn't have lyrics on spotify (at least 4 me) so I hope they fix it before you react to it 🤞
“I hope she has that daughter, I hope we get to see Clementine some day”… oh Ocean Boulevard has some things to say about that 😭
