LSU favored on recent history. However, this is a new USC team with everything on the line and a point to make. I expect an even and aggressive game. ✌️
Same for LSU
@@MeauxSTTDBWe haven’t won a week 1 game in 4 years. We thirsty!!!
USC has been trying to cancel this game for a year now. They don’t want non of that Tiger football.
Riley is going to pull out a bag of tricks like Kiffin and Tuberville
@@damianoby8540 as he should lol. Hope we do too
Where I think usc will make a big step in the run game is actually at linebacker. Easton Arnold is one of the best run stopping linebackers in the country if coach Henny can get them to open up some gaps better he will be a force in the run game
Hopefully Cobb can return to Ok St. form too.
@@stevencarlos14nooooooo he is tooooo slow

I have a lot of confidence in USC'S new Defensive Staff. Grinch did not take advantage of the talent USC had. Guys were out of position and had to think too much before the snap. Lynn's philosophy is very player friendly. Don't forget Coach Henderson.
USC has 3 Defensive Coordinators(Lynn, Matt, Doug), & Eric and Nua
USC has one of the TOP 10 Offenses in the Country
now with TOP 10 Defensive Coaches in the Country
USC DB/CB and LB positions are FULL of "SENIORS & R-SENIORS"
USC will WIN this GAME
College football's #1 offense against college football's #116 defense. USC has led the nation 2 years in a row giving up explosive plays of 30+ yards. Brian Kelly 8-3 lifetime vs USC. Line down from opening 7.5 to 6.5 meaning casual bettors are betting USC. USC was 3-9 last year against the spread, and LSU was 8-4. We have too many new coaches new schemes new 3-star kids lining up against 5-star kids.
It would take a miracle.
You weren't the #1 offense last season. That was Oregon then USC.
And we've hired 3 new defensive coaches.
@@prman9984can you not google?
LSU had more ypg and more ppg last year than Oregon and USC.
If LSU is planning on leaning on the run they are not going to score a lot of points. LSU will be forced to throw the ball to win this game and I think SC’s DB’s will get at least one pick. 42 to 28 SC.
Nussmeier eked out a win against an unranked Wisconsin in his bowl game. Moss overwhelmed #19 Louisville (which beat Notre Dame) in his bowl game, and Moss' QBR and completion %, against a stronger defense, exceeded those of Nussmeier in his bowl game. Since that point in time, Riley hired the best defensive staff in the country and added top talent in depth to the squad. Bear Alexander and Bralen Shelby will feature on the run D. D'Anton Lynn's '23 ucla defense was #10 FBS against the run, and at USC he will have better assistants and better talent, particularly with CBs and Safeties. Look for USC to play man on LSU WRs and role their big Safeties up. Riley's offenses have averaged over 40 ppg year in and year out. Playmakers abound - speed and size in abundance will create mismatches. I like USC to outscore LSU.
Not so fast my friend, as Lee Corso would say. LSU just overhauled the entire defensive coaching staff. Blake Baker is the new defensive coordinator.
At his last stop at Missouri, in his first season, the defense improved from triple digits overall the previous season to 40th overall in his first season. LSU has more talent than Missouri.
The defense will be much improved from last season. Switching over to offense, LSU’S starting LT & RT, Will Campbell & Emory Jones will both be 1st round picks in the 25 NFL Draft.
The 2 guards Dellinger & Frazier have played 40-50 games together. This offensive line is elite, make no mistake.
With a talented RB & TE room, with multiple freaks at the WR position, the offense will be good. Will it look the way that it did with JD at QB ? No, it won’t. It’ll still be good though with Nuss.😂

@@petevon1 You’re obviously overlooking the fact that the bowl game was his first as a starter & played the entire game. As the season rolls along, he’ll only get better. Now, there’s some fat for you to chew on.
It's impossible for USC to have hired the best defensive staff in the country because LSU did that.
@@jedolivier2688 You of course know that the recent bowl game was also Moss' first start and full game. Moss will be in his *third* year with Riley's offense. Huge advantage: USC.
LSU fan here. We're1-4 the 5 years in opening games. I have no idea what this team will look line or what to expect. I'm hope for a dominant win and not be embarrassed like we have the last few seasons.
The best thing I noticed from LSU's spring is that Kelly is keeping his nose out of the defense... LSU's defense will be legit this year. .. and I don't think they will be on the field a lot in the first five games
I hope the defense is on the field. That means the offense is scoring at elite level
I’ve seen Garrett Nussmeier against UGA and Bama … and Purdue and Wisconsin (he scored a lot)
That guy is good. And the OLine gives him lots of time to throw.
If Kaleb Jackson (I dnt know why BK is so against giving freshmen carries Jackson avg 5 yards a carry and even returned kicks well but got few carries) and Josh Willams and Caden Durham can establish the run behind that OLine…
Nussmeier and play action passing will be dynamite.
Not to mention running ball will help keep that defense (that lacks depth not talent) off the field and
Because freshman can’t block.
Fair assessment. FightOn USC
LSU will be a different animal on defense this year! I say Tigers by 10 to 14 points. I don’t think it will be as close as people may expect. Geaux Tigers!
@Shamutiger1967
LSU defense is too much for USC.
LSU and the UNDER
The Nussmeier - Mason Taylor connection is gonna be legit
Don’t sleep on Pimpton
LSU had bad defense last season in general.
Savion Jones, Jacobian Guillory, Brayden Swinson, Dashawn Womack, Harold Perkins, Whit Weeks, Greg Penn are not bad football players.
No 3 star players in that front 7.
Coach better. Give them a chance.
Stop handicapping them.
The DBs are the 3 star guys.
Top 10 team in blue chip ratio.
Top 4 team in active NFL players.
It’s so annoying watching them perform like that. It’s their performance not their talent level.
Facts, I saw Athlon had LSU’s blue chip ratio as high as 4th. Gotta coach better.
Going to be a good game Fight On
We're turning up this season. I hope the country is ready, and when we win, I don't want to hear anyone talking about "LSU isn't good." #FightOn
Yalls D line is about to be tested badly.
@Cdrop63 looking forward to seeing how we respond to those tests.
@@StandOutProd919 I’ll be at the game so I’m curious as well. If you don’t know who Kaleb Jackson is you will soon. Dude is a tank and behind our line I think it will decide the game. If yall can slow the run game you have a legit shot
@Cdrop63 this SC team is alot better than they are nationally getting credit for. But are definitely in a show and prove state as opposed to last year with the preseason hype. I like this energy going into the season. Good luck to LSU as well, AFTER week 1 lol
@@StandOutProd919 we honestly are in the same situation as this is BKs 3rd year. Saban is now gone, and we haven’t won a non conference week one game in 4 years. It’s a lot on the line for both programs indeed. Good luck to yall as well after week 1 😂 but we desperately need a fast start playing in the SEC this year with OU and Texas
What LSU people you been talking to the only question we have is our secondary! DL could used some help but we have enough bodies there to plug a hole 🕳️
Man Bo Davis bout to have them boys with an attitude!
"the only question we have is our secondary" - You realize that this is a massive problem against a Lincoln Riley offense, right?
@@prman9984 nope not really because he don’t have a quarterback. There’s no Caleb Williams back there.
@@prman9984 Well duh but the game will still be won in the trenches. You aren’t just about to throw the ball all four quarters and win lol
@@ginobling1828lol he’s had 3 heismans and every qb he’s had has been one of the best
It will come down to, can LSU stop the USC run game. LSU will establish the run game but swings, screens & TE crossers will keep USC defense honest. And Nuss can take the top off if challenged.
Extremely good point about stopping the USC run game, this LSU front seven has to come prepared to help out an experienced (but very talented) secondary.
No, it's can they stop Miller Moss to Zach Branch and Duce Robinson?
@@prman9984 Miller Moss will be shell shocked if LSU stops the run. Look at what Blake Baker did against Tennessee last year. And Milton was a seasoned veteran.
✌🏽 we'll be just fine ,wzit and see 👀 W's.
Both teams have interior DL issues. LSU is flatout paper thin at DT.
I'd take a higher scoring, Riley's offense scores just enough to win type of game. Nussmeier has to prove he's the man, but he's definitely not anywhere near Jaydon Daniels level.
USC needs to win and win big next year or we’re just gonna be like the Dallas cowboys. The cycle of “this is our year” only to be let down
If there is not much improvement in the SC OL and DL, forget about it. SC does not have a chance.
Good thing we have much improvement.
My money is on the team with the best OLine. Joe Moore finalist that brings back 4 starters. Best set of bookends in college ball. Nuss will contend for post season honors. Another great set of bootdawgs at WR. wash rinse repeat. Kaleb Jackson will set college football world on fire.
LSU DTs got the numbers. With the 2 transfers tigers go 4 with plenty plenty college football experience, 4th, 5th and 6th year guys. Bo Davis will have them ready. LSU goes 2 deep on the edge with quality and experience. They will make it a long day for moss. Kevin Peoples is one of the best in the business.
Backend is set with the addition of Gilbert. That allows Ryan and Burns to move to positions that better suit their natural talents. Cory Raymond will have his CBs ready. He has 8-9 to form a 2 deep.
TIGERS get the W. Cover the spread. Don't give a shit. Trojans don't get points added to scoreboard before or after game ends.
Good shit baw

@@mxl_reps_951 Of course I am. I'm on youtube responding about these podcasts. You not a homer? Just trying to educate the trojan nation about your season opening opponent.
Sound silly 😂
SC by 4 final score 35-31
I’m bullish on this USC team. I think they go into Vegas and get a statement win. LR needs this win badly.
We'll lose. Stop playing these Week One Sunday games in NFL stadiums.
As a SC Gamecock fan I really don't have a dog in the fight but I think this game has a TON of question marks all over it. SoCal still has huge questions on defense - they have been absolutely horrible since Riley got there. Have they now got the dudes and coaches to turn that around in 1 year ? I don't know. Riley may be a QB whisperer, but Caleb Williams is gone, and honestly I am not sure Riley is truly invested as a coach at SoCal. I think he is angling toward the NFL. As for LSU it's pretty widely known that they failed at beefing up their really bad D line through the portal - so I think they will be almost as vulnerable on defense as they were last year when they had a ridiculously good QB and several NFL WRs which helped them win several shootouts. Can they replace that offensive capability enough to overcome the lack of defensive line talent ? I'm not so sure. Nussmeier is still a question mark in my mind.... I'm not convinced either team has the talent to win 8 or 9 games. I say all this not having looked at either team's schedules, so check back with me at the end of the season and see how I did. lol ! And I am really looking forward to LSU coming into Willy B and getting surprised by a much improved Gamecock team. GO COCKS !!
D'Anton Lynn turned UCLA from 120+ to top 10 D/#1 running D in one year. No reason he can't do the same at USC.
Riley is not thinking NFL at all. That's all national media garbage.
USC can easily win 8-9 games since they have the easiest schedule in the Big Ten. We only play LSU, ND and Michigan. Everyone else is pretty easy.
I am a duck but go SC. Hate SEC
Tired of getting y’all ass beat by the SEC??? 😂😂😂😂
We hate you more
@@Shamutiger1967
When? They have a winning record vs them and the Big 10✅
USC BEATS LSU BY 7 POINTS! FIGHT ON! Angel USC'78 😊
Bro, USC wins by 7! USC DEFENSE surprises LSU! USC Offense is better than last year, cuz Moss takes what the defense gives and moves the chains! Fight On! Angel USC'78
UCLA's defense last year was so much better than Missouri's, right? They [UCLA and Missouri] also played against equal level competition, right? The PAC 12 was just as stellar across the board as the SEC, oh wait . . .
The country is going to see a completely different USC team especially on defense this year. They are so hungry and ready to prove everyone wrong about their D. LSU is good and it will be close but I say USC 31 LSU 27.
LSU and Ole Miss are DARK HORSES to win the SEC.
FSU was stout last year. USC this year is no FSU. LSU is better than last year.
LSU 32
USC 17
LSU ceiling is 24 points
😂
SC 35 especially if the slang the rock aggressively
USC could easily score 50+.
Low scoring game.
Low scoring as in 38-35?
Not a chance 😂
