Thanks for sharing this!! Takes me back to when I used to ride the 1900 series fishbowls to school around 1971 through 1975. Loved all the buses from that era.
You've taken me way back to childhood with this little video of yours. I remember sitting in the back with my mom watching the traffic follow the bus and being totally entranced by it. How I miss those big back windows! By the way, I LOVE the music for this - it's incredibly apropos, and cheery as well. Well done! :D
The old Kirk Avenue terminal was torn down, and a new one is being built in the same location. A garage across the street has been completed, and I believe the buses are taken there for repairs.
Gosh! I recall all of that, too. That was such a wonderful era!!!!! The older buses and the colors were so beautiful then. Thank heavens this footage exists! :-)
The one thing I've noticed between the Fishbowls and Flxibles is that on the Fishbowls, the rear window was the same size throughout production. On the Flxibles, the newer the bus, the smaller the rear window.
I rode the #3 Baynesville to UMBC for 5 years ('77 - '82) and this really takes me back. Those were great old buses and the MTA drivers were top notch!
I have to tell you, I really like that MTA "T" paint scheme on their GM's and Flxibles! I wish someone would come out with a Model of the Flxible Buses...they too were a part of the 1960/70s/80s bus fleets...we had many in Chicago! :) Great movies, bless you! I love the music and the buses too! :)
Buses are cheaper because they cost less to operate and purchase. At the same time the high cost of a trolley is worth it because of the many years of service they can give. There are still streetcars in other U.S. cities that continue to operate after 50 and 60 years of service. Boston currently still operates some streetcars that are 68 years old. New Orleans has a whole fleet of streetcars that turn 90 years old this year. No bus has ever lasted that long in continuous service.
BALTIMORE MTA NEED TO REBUILD VINTAGE MTA BUSES FROM THE 40'S 50'S 60'S AND 70'S TAKE THE OLD FARE BOX OUT AND PUT THE NEW SMART CARD BOX ON ALL VINTAGE MTA BUSES.
Thanks for sharing and the great music
I road the buses many times when I lived in B-more. Thanx for video. 👌
Long live the Fishbowl!
I grew up in Severna Park. I remember riding the #14 into Baltimore to meet dad downtown.
Eso me acuerda en puerto rico en la decada de los 70 y 80 para los 60 yo no habia nacido
I like the old buses better
The good old days 👊🏼

Great images! Miss the GM Fishbowls, Flxible New Looks and the "Flying T!" Thanks!

The #3 went to UMBC? WHUUUDDDDD??
I remember when the MTA bus fleet looked like this in the early 80's. They are probably late 60's/early 70's bus models.
It actually is a GM early 60's bus model wow
1920s music is part of my life as well as buses. For me there is no problem.

How has Bush Division shrunk in nearly 40 years. We need more space these days.
I left out some words. I meant to ask if buses are cheaper to purchase/maintain vs. trolley cars?
Dam i miss them they was the best mta buses from back in the day when i was going to school
Ahh..1980. When the mob was whacking people left and right, cocaine was king, big glasses, bushy hair, and men wore plaid pants.
Are buses to purchase and maintain VS. trolley?
Época em que não volta mais.
Ônibus muito bonito.
I remember I aunt Inez Martin catching these buses going to work
I would not say that buses are completely more efficient and practical. They are in many cases but streetcars do have a place in transit.

The older the better..... nice video
Thank you for sharing this! I love it!!
i.miss.those.buses.
Buses are much more efficient and practical than trolleys, so yes. Its not ideal but the lesser of two evils, so to speak.
I don't understand your question.
music doesn't match the time period....music from 30-40's ....pics from early to mid 70's...it was cute though
I wish that all US and Canadian bus agencies stiill ran these and retired the clean air CNG lemons. I know I am not alone in this. :)
🤠..if it's 1980...why the 1922 style soundtrack....put on some Rick James...it was the 80's remember...🕵️
no rick james.

NOT A D A ACCESABLE 2 YOU COULD NOT GET THE PARTS TO KEEP THEM RUNNING
I live in Baltimore md we use to have those busses long time. They got retired in the early 90th Baltimore city police was using them as well
