Great video as usual Lindsay. Debris removal is done and the very few businesses that survived the storm are open. But almost no rebuilding going on On the plus side there are thousands of parking spots all over
I pray FMB has a calm hurricane season this year and next. Another big storm is the last thing they need right now. Progress and FEMA are both incredibly slow as it is
Thank you for a great walk around. Great to see such progress since we were down in June. Planning on coming back down the first week of September to patronize as much as we can.
As a former Fort Myers resident and owner of property destroyed on the beach, the biggest problem is if you don't bring the people back with places to stay, the businesses will not be rebuilt. If a useful planning commission and council would have moved immediately after the storm to study the vacant beach areas that formerly housed thousands of visitors are not rebuilt quickly Fort Myers Beach will look like this ten years from now. The zoning plan on the beach (it can take 13 to 18 months to get a zoning change!) is useless, AND if you think that fancy ugly development at the bridge will solve problems, you need realty help. I have no stake on the beach or Florida, but the 30+ years visiting and living there sadden me and my family that loved the place and that the politicians are determined to whine and argue before real improvements can be made you are sadly mistaken. God Bless Florida but it is a pit.
It’s heartbreaking to see the entire FMB community wiped away! Progress is very slow. Our time share resort was demolished. And it could be years before it is rebuilt.
It's so very sad, and slow. I'm sorry to hear about your timeshare. I hope you'll be able to return. If you'd like updated videos on it you can leave the property name and I'll see what I can film.
@@LindsayLola_ thank you! It’s so awful to see FMB in such an awful state of disrepair. My time share resort is called Estero Island Beach Club. I would appreciate any updated videos.
Wow they have made some progress but a long way to go
Great beach area ft Myers 👍👍
Thanks
Stay blessed 🫵🙏😇
Very true, thanks for watching!
Thanks for the new update!
You bet! Thanks as always Deb!

Thanks so much @maumor2
There is a lot of parking, and free parking at that!
So sad. FMB was such a fun place to visit.
I know, it will be again.
Nice video. Check out ours from last month. It features a handful of my murals and how they were effected.
I'll check it out!

I completely agree. We are all hoping for a quiet season.

Please do! Have a great vacation!
You call this progress?! The stores are boarded up and the area is empty!
The pier hasn’t been rebuilt.
As usual, great job. Still looks depressing. Hope it's a lot better by June '24. Jeff
I hope so too
great info... hopefully santini plaza on the other end of the island gets up and running soon!
I hope so too!
Anyone know when the FB Pier will be rebuilt?? I think that would really help !!
It's going to be awhile. There were rumors floating around that Margaritaville was going to donate money toward it, I'm not sure if that was true.
not OSC & 3rd....That's just an alley.. 3rd is the next street..where the Jewelry store used to be.🙂
Thanks!
Sad to sea top of the mast gone I have glasses from there
It's so very sad. I'm sorry to hear that.

You make some valid points.

Remember this ….build back better….NO …if you can see the water you should know , you are too fucking close ….to next disaster.
Where do you vacation Paul? Hopefully not by water.
Great reply Lindsey to a pretty rude comment !!! Atta girl 👍
