Looks like the ol girl is makin a comeback and fast ! Miss not seein the old Dairy Queen sign but hey ,looks great and ill bet the summer of 2024 will almost be business as usual. There will still be things that need attention but yep shes turnin for the better !
Nothing is happening Fast here. Most of the Island is covered with crime scene tape and keep out signs. This will be several years before its booming again. I was through here 6 weeks ago.

I will never get over the fact that FMB had the most beautiful view, coming over Matanzas Pass Bridge and being met with an endless expanse of shimmering green water meeting vibrant blue skies, the horizon dotted with parasailers and boaters alike, and they thought “You know what could make this paradise even better? An ugly, tacky, concrete eyesore that blocks half of the very thing that makes our beach special.”
Developers begged for a storm like this to happen. FMB will be covered in unobtainable luxury condos now

Thanks for posting this. I used to vacation in Ft Myers Beach twice a year. Then in 2019 my sweet father passed away from cancer and the pandemic hit. Life finally got back to normal and I planned to finally go back to FMB in 2023. Alas, Ian hit. My heart aches for the beautiful people of FMB. It’s such a special place. I pray I get to see it again! God bless all the victims of Ian.

I encourage everyone to check that out as it's probably the best video to date in history of showing storm surge. It's insanely scary. It showed the water being over the roof of those trucks and moving like a river.

Very depressing, business owners had not help from the government; sadly, everything is a close and very empty, painful part of the people voting for someone that doesn't care about them.
Try Puerto Rico which is a US territory. All we got were paper towels and empty promises ! New orleans did better than us and theyre still lookin rough . All politicians do is follow the money. Ill lay odds Hawaii has fema planes landing this minute. get it straight. Its all about the money.

beautiful place. The people of Ft. Meyers Beach have suffered so much! They deserve so much more
than they've gotten.
