    Welcome back, in this video, I'm showing how to make a door from solid wood with basic tools and standard dimensions for hardware.
    Before you say having a panel saw or a drum sander isn't a basic tool let me say.
    I made the same design door made of beech wood with 3 electric tools
    A handheld router and a jig
    Small green bosch table saw
    and small orbital sander.
    It did take some more preparations and time but trust me when I say you can make a door that will last a lifetime with just those 3 tools.
    These doors are made from solid oak wood. jointed with floating tenon joinery. It is made of styles and rails type of construction with 3 panels in the middle.
    I went with a traditional and simple design to fit the door for the place where they are installed now. It is like a wine cellar with a rustic feel made from the wooden ceiling that I made before I made the door and the stones on the wall.
    I use AGB hinges which are very good and easy to use. I use PU wood glue which is very good for this type of joinery because it expands and can fill up all loose joints.
    For a finish, I went with water-based acrylic varnish which is simple to apply, it dries very quickly without any odor. To save some money on the lumber I made jambs from segmented pieces which were glued into C form.
    it took me around 4 days to complete everything.
    I have many new videos in the making, some with my vivid imagination and unique design and some more traditional woodwork similar to this door where I'll show tips and tricks which you can use in your shop. Besides that, I have a new video review ready this time from ATOMSTACK a diode laser that you don't want to miss. A powerful laser that can be used for almost anything. The video coming up shortly.
    Thank you for stopping by, and I appreciate all of your support. If you have any questionsfeel free to comment or reach out.
    Take care!

    Nice job 👍! Did you buy the tenons in a shop or you did u do for yourself? There is some silicon plastic to do the doors more quiet. With What device you make the hole for them?

    • @Slovenianwoodworker
      @Slovenianwoodworker  2 месяца назад

      Tenons are shop made. Just board thru thicknesser 18mm thick.
      For plastic/gasket i use 3mm slot cuter router bit. Or in some cases i buy with adhesive tape on.

    How do those hinges stay in the door? I have never seen those before and didn’t understand.

  • @mchaisso
    @mchaisso 5 месяцев назад

    Adding a track saw into the mix of jobsite TS, router, and ROS, and it's even easier for a DIY'er to pull this off. But any DIY'er going for a full door probably has a planer which will help with the panels.

      Table saw, router with tennonig jig and sander. That's all you need. To be able to make this exact door. Cheers

    • @scottsmith9936
      @scottsmith9936 Год назад

      @Slovenianwoodworker but that's not what you used, you used a lot more than that and definitely professional tools. Yes we could do it with those tools but if you are going to put basic tools in the title use basic tools. Beginners are not going to be able to extrapolate that level of knowledge and skill. Still a beautiful and well done door though.
