My absolute favorite part of this video is when you get a smile on your face after something comes together nicely. You’re just so pleased with yourself and how it turns out, and I totally know that feeling. It’s one of my favorites things. Well done on the door!
This is extremely enjoyable, watching the gradual progression and build out. Watching you use all the skills, hacks and experience you've learned over the years is really inspiring. ...Plus, that roll-out shelving unit is wicked!
Thanks for this video. I am a third generation residential carpenter and lifelong woodworker. Im getting ready to build a set of arched french doors for a new client and i learned a lot from this video.
I think that there's something deeply philosophical about that "LET GLUE DRY" steel block. In projects like this (and most other things in life) you can't get decent results if you try to rush or force things. Sometimes you just have to wait for things to happen and events to unfold and plan around the things you can not affect or change. That said I hereby petition to have "LET GLUE DRY" t-shirts and stickers in Laura's shop and I definitely need a miniature version of that block as a paperweight for my desk.
I'm so glad I found your channel through Simone. As a carpenter myself, it's refreshing to see a women doing this kind of work. You're incredibly talented, and your craftsmanship is top notch. Definitely better then most men that I've hired through the years lol. You can see that you care, you feel the wood, you can tell you really enjoy it. There nothing quite like the feeling of satisfaction you get from making plans, building what you thought up, then standing back and looking at what YOU created and built. Hats off to you ma'am. After seeing your hands, and that they look a lot like mine, made me love your channel even more. Well done.
You are a badass! That was so fun to watch. I have been pondering building my own front door to my house. I promised my wife I would start with a new door on our house 6 years ago. What I didnt know was how many things needed attention first in our home and that both of us would go back to school to get our masters degrees at the same time. We will both be Nurse Practitioners soon! This has inspired me to do a little something to relax after almost 4 years of school. I'm gonna build it after I take my national board certification. But before I start my new career at age 45! Thank you for sharing your work! Keep it up!
The trick you used to cut the curved part of the door with a small piece of wood was really nice. I am looking forward to seeing the camper progress every week.
loved the build, as I always do. Loved the secret tips- hot melting the slab to a planed face, sawdust mixed with glue. Those kinds of little details, shared without a word, whereas other makers need to make a whole video just about them, jabbering away. Thanks again!
It is obvious that you are doing the work you love, you seem so relaxed and at peace with the world around you!! Your attention to detail is so refreshing. Andy Jones Siemens South Africa pensioner. I have been to Germany on two occasions and I love your country. Muenchen city of my dreams, Franconia, Erlangen, Nurnburg, Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen. I also visited Salzburg, not forgetting Prien am Chiemsee. Frankfurt alt stadt. Sehr sehr schoen!!!!
Very cleaver build, long and straight build cut in half...Luv'it. The hot melt glue to plywood milling is genus!! And a usual, beautiful job on the video.
Great video. Love the beat of the music, awesome choice. My favorite part of your videos is that smile you make in the middle of a project when things are fitting together. We all do it. We all know that feeling. That's the best feeling during a project to have.
You are an inspiration, I love your work. Please make a beginner series for those who want to enter the realm of makers but have close to zero their experience working with wood, metal and other materials and tools
3:42 Such a cool shot! Awesome job, the door is beautiful! And so happy Smudo used his lookout window. I laughed so hard when I watched your story and you tried to get him to use it and he just walked out the other side you said “Dammit!”. 😂😂😂 Anyway, fantastic work!
It was excellent !! 👍😎Great memories. I was watching the video and remembering my father ... He was an excellent joiner and carpenter. Not only him, but all my uncles, cousins, brothers and me. We are a large family of carpenters, joiners and sawmills. Good Sunday Laura 🌼🌸
Excellent, EXCELLENT work either for how it came and for the really sharp solutions you adopted, not to mention the evident satisfaction from your smile at every passage.
Nice! A Dutch door (that what I've always known them as) for the camper is a great idea. Additionally, I really dig the sign on the wall that says, "Every defect gets repsect". Being I have numerous "defects" I can identify with that sentiment. At least, I'm 93% sure that's what it says.
Beautifully built door, looks fantastic. The only thing I didn't like about the video.....there was no voice over!!! I really like, and appreciate, hearing how passionate and how much you enjoy your projects. There is always an element of happiness and excitement in your voice and missed that in this video.
I am impressed. Well done young lady!! I hope to one day hold a candle to your abilities! Here, I thought it was some 2000$ door and its for a horse trailer?! Lol, So awesome!
Right??? I never would've thought of that. I would've fumbled with the oiece, precariously balancing between messing up my work and losing a finger. This solution seems so onvious, I feel kinda dumb, haha.
You can do a similar technique with insulating foam and a circular saw: put the foam on the ground, your large sheet of ply on top and then make your blade barely deeper than the wood you're sawing.

Stickers are a cool idea! I will look into it!
Just "let glue dry"...yes!
I am VERY on board with this idea! The "Let Glue Dry" block deserves more recognition!
But definitely in your very typical lettering type, I love that style.
I was thinking the same thing! A Let Glue Dry white on black tshirt would look amazing
Lovely job. My daughter indignantly pointed out that "she needs a handle". I told her you will have this under control for sure! Thanks for sharing
Erictheviking ! Looks like the man with the bandaged hand needs your daughter’s advice instead.
She is very smart

So satisfying when it all fits together! ☺️💪

What a beautiful door. Especially that you built it in one piece and then cut it in half is amazing
The trick you used to cut the curved part of the door with a small piece of wood was really nice. I am looking forward to seeing the camper progress every week.
Love the Dutch door action. Hope Smudo appreciates all the hard work that went into his window.
I think he will once the other side is closed :)
Nice Projekt. Was gibt es schöneres als Sonntags Kaffee trinken und dabei Laura's neuste Arbeit zu bewundern.
If you can't see the beauty in this then you have no soul! Gorgeous!
Girl you got the coolest music. If there was a best picture Oscar for woodworking videos this would be it. Coolest video I’ve seen.

I like the way you set up your shots, the good mix between detailed and wide shots.
Thanks, i try my best to keep the videos interesting and easy to follow
So happy to see it was for the camper. My 3 year old daughter said "That was a good movie".
❤️❤️❤️
That is so cool!!! Even a window for Smudo.
It is obvious that you are doing the work you love, you seem so relaxed and at peace with the world around you!! Your attention to detail is so refreshing.

the 5:08 smile when everything went together is priceless!!
Great work on this door
I enjoy watching people get things done, especially when they make it look easy. You do that.
Great video. Love the beat of the music, awesome choice. My favorite part of your videos is that smile you make in the middle of a project when things are fitting together. We all do it. We all know that feeling. That's the best feeling during a project to have.
Woodworker, metal fab, and on and on. A Jack oops, Jill of all trades. Such a joy to watch.
So much joy in this video. Thank you Laura!
You are quite a craftsman! Great to see someone who takes pride in their work.
I love how you built in a little low window for your dog!
the smile on your face every time something works or the pieces fit together 🙂🙂🙂
❤️
I like Smudo's window, nice touch.
Remarkable young lady, a real artisan. A joy to watch such skill.
I love the way you edit your videos.. the music, angles etc.... great on a Sunday morning...
WOW! You are amazing! I surprisingly fell upon this video...and I didn't want it to ever end!
A perfect addition to the tiny home/ tourer. Looking good!!!
Looks like oak doors . Beautiful .Now time for inside work. Thank you Laura !
You make it look easy ! Neat and clean too.
Awesome Laura. You are in total control of ur craft.
Most impressive build!! Even Smudo has a window to the world!
7:26 That smile of satisfaction is lovely, you are so very talented.
I love that along with the way she runs her finger or thumb over the piece she's just been working on. 'Definitely into it.
Would this door prevent gases from exiting a room? I'm looking to get rid of lice
Me too did you try this one yet? I found some on a german website they say they’re tried and tested might give them a try!
@noxvi4753 Those claims seem far-fetched to me but who am I to question their narrative?
Great Dutch door! Nice craftswomanship!👍✌️😊🙏🏼⚒
Nice idea! A window - door 👏🏻👏🏻
Great result. Ballsie corner drill and chisel! Love your hand close ups, not in a weird way.
Like the polly blocks, great idea.
Incredible level of craftsmanship!
Great choice of music and great videography.
You are an inspiration, I love your work. Please make a beginner series for those who want to enter the realm of makers but have close to zero their experience working with wood, metal and other materials and tools
Is one of the features that it can be completely air tight?
It's kind of funny how her name is Laura KAMPF.
Qué bueno con Laura estoy aprendiendo a construir mi camper y también inglés Happy to meet you Laura
I love the window for your dog!
I am amused that she named her dog after a 90's German hip hop artist..hallo hu hu ich bin der Schmu, wer bist du?
Świetna robota🙂
Excellent work Laura, congrats.
Sehr sehr schönes projekt. Den trick mit der spenglerschraube finde ich sehr gut. Einfach und mega effektiv.
That was thoughtful. A window for your 🐕
It was excellent !! 👍😎Great memories. I was watching the video and remembering my father ... He was an excellent joiner and carpenter.
Not only him, but all my uncles, cousins, brothers and me. We are a large family of carpenters, joiners and sawmills.
Good Sunday Laura 🌼🌸
Cool hack gluing the wood to the plywood for a reference face:)
I had the same thought, gets listed on my internal how to list
Scrolled through looking for this comment so I wouldn't make a redundant comment...that is a cool technique.
Using a thicknesser as a jointer....
@@noremorsewoodworking2258 you're from the UK? In the US the terminology is a bit different. We call a thicknesser a plane, and a plane a jointer!
The reason she glued the style to the piece of plywood is because it was twisted. Otherwise most of what she does leaves me scratching my head.
Well done! I really love the Smudo window! Thanks.
Nice carpentry :) and quite enjoyable to watch, greets from Stuttgart 💚
First class craftsmanship!
Great project and video. Music is on point. Looking forward to seeing the trailer progress.
I learn something every day. Today it's Laura's plywood reference for planing. Ingenious.
10:53 Smudo looking out of the glass! How cool!
Yes, he looked so happy. I wonder if Laura will make a scaled-down version of the door for Smudo?
Yeah, ok! Now you are showing off!! ha ha! Really nice video and great job on the door. Thanks Laura!
Some very good tips there. Thank you. Lovely job!
The Love of Woodworking by Laura
Applause 👏 Nicely made perfection.
I would shake your hand any time. 🤝
Thats woodworking master skill s 👏👏👏
Hallo Laura, es macht richtig Spaß Dir zu zusehen. Diese Zufriedenheit und das glückliche Lächeln, einfach toll.
Übrigens, klasse Tür.
Smudo saw an escape route. Well done.
Excellent, EXCELLENT work either for how it came and for the really sharp solutions you adopted, not to mention the evident satisfaction from your smile at every passage.
It's been awesome seeing that many small woodworking tricks in the video

Auf deutsch auch Klöntür genannt.
Loved the look out for Smudo the second I saw it's a clear window on the bottom part :D
Beautiful door beautiful film! Loving this series. 👍👍
That's so well done!
Thanks for sharing your amazing talents!
Very cool. And you got Smudo to look out the window for a little bit too :)
Super nice! And my favorite video of the day. I learned a few things and the video just made me happy.
Your videos always inspire me to continue making things and being creative! So excited to see how the camper turns out!
Aah a dutch barn door, best feature: the schmuck smiley of a job well done .😃🇳🇱
Love that kind of door! Great Vid!
Absolutely beautiful.
Nice work ! and a bunch of so great tools !
I’m loving this project!
Love the bottom window for Smudo!
I've seen all sorts of tricks for jointing a board face with a planer, but that hot glue trick is definitely the most efficient and simple.
beautifully done by a beautiful lady, thanks for sharing
Beautifully built door, looks fantastic. The only thing I didn't like about the video.....there was no voice over!!! I really like, and appreciate, hearing how passionate and how much you enjoy your projects. There is always an element of happiness and excitement in your voice and missed that in this video.
Absolutely brilliant work!
That’s a pretty solid looking door. I like the way the arch on the door matches in with the arch of the roof.
Beautiful door. How do I like to see the way you work.
Smudo hate trailers. Even bigger ones 😂 Stay safe
Great video thank you! That's a clever way to flatten out a board if you don't have a large jointer!
A very, very accomplished build. You look very proud, Laura and so you should!
That looks absolutely amazing! But your constant smile about it coming together is even better to watch. You just made my day.
I am impressed. Well done young lady!! I hope to one day hold a candle to your abilities! Here, I thought it was some 2000$ door and its for a horse trailer?! Lol, So awesome!
I love it when you let the glue dry.
When you started cutting an almost complete and already pretty looking door, I almost had a heart attack!
Me too :)
That polystyrene jig saw trick though.... 🤯
Right??? I never would've thought of that. I would've fumbled with the oiece, precariously balancing between messing up my work and losing a finger. This solution seems so onvious, I feel kinda dumb, haha.
I know! I saw it in her stories and... well, my life changed that day!
You can do a similar technique with insulating foam and a circular saw: put the foam on the ground, your large sheet of ply on top and then make your blade barely deeper than the wood you're sawing.
Please don’t. Bad for your health and for the enviroment.
Where’s that?
Looking forward to the next in the series Laura!! Can’t wait to see how the layout inside is managed..Should be coming soon
I learn so much from watching your videos. Enjoy every one I watch.
Thanks for making and sharing them.
