This game is somehow giving me a nostalgia hit of previous Monolith soft titles, a remake of xenosaga might not happen but I'm happy this game will be!
After the last Xenoblade 3 DLC that made Xenosaga canon, I'm a little more hopeful that they'll at least remaster the Xenosaga series if not a full remake.

Animations are indeed stiff and awkward. Alongside the animations being severely lacking, they are also missing that feeling of impact. Also, there doesn't seem to be any gimmick at play with the battle systems meaning your gameplay loop is going to become egregious without some sort of progression or reward system (introduction to new mechanics, mini games, etc)

Game looks absolutely gorgeous and fun. Animation's a bit rough around the edges, but I'm sure that'll be improved on in later builds. Along with Rollin' Rascals, this has now become one of the Kickstarter titles I'm looking forward to, and will keep an eye on.
What makes the xeno series awesome is the world, genius lore and character development that engulfs you in a magical ride. Gameplay and graphic fidelity comes second, but still pretty good imo.

I would love if this is some kind of non-linear "persona-esque" game, but I am excited for it anyway whatever it may turn out to be in the end, and looking forward to play this one day! :D
Just pledged! Pledged to many a kickstarter indie RPG in the past - Legrand Legacy, Edge of Eternity, Eiyuden Chronicles, Anima Gate of Memories and Anima: Song from the Abyss, Armed Fantasia & Penny Blood to name a few - and even though a lot of those are also incredible looking, this is one of the more promising I've seen! Hoping for Xbox/Playstation console releases as stretch goals later on, but I know you're a small team and just prioritizing PC for now. What you've put together for this trailer already looks fantastic with great visual design, beautiful music and some nice hints as to the gameplay. If there's Dark Cloud/Terra Memoria-style town rebuilding - or even just Ni No Kuni 2 style "purchasing buildings for your town" style base building (which is what it sounds like in the Kickstarter campaign page, I'm getting) - in this, I'll be *very* happy (I assume that's what's going on at 0:48). Wish more games opted for those kinds of systems, because I love 'em personally. Man oh man, we can't have enough great turn-based JRPGs from smaller studios these days when big companies like Square seem hellbent on doing away with that style of combat like with Final Fantasy (I fear for Dragon Quest XII: Flames of Fate too, based on comments about _that_ games' combat system). It's probably pretty basic in these early days, but more power to you guys for pursuing turn-based combat! There's so many great takes on TBC in older JRPGs, like shoving enemies onto certain tiles on a grid using specific attacks in Radiant Historia, or lining up shots on the hex patterns in Wild Arms 5, or blending turn based with real-time action turns in Eternal Sonata; there's so many amazing ways for Turn-based combat to shine. Who knows what interesting take you'll have on the system in the future; I know I can't wait to find out. Definitely wishing you guys the best of luck and looking forward to seeing this one come together over the next couple of years via Kickstarter updates and more videos on this channel!
Finally a JRPG inspired title that actually looks the part. So many never quite manages to nail the look and just tend to look a bit off. While there is a slight western influence here and there, it adds a nice bit of flavor rather than being overbearing. Now just to hope that the story will be able to deliver. Was a long while now since I experienced a worthwhile story in a JRPG, east or west, with many ending up as disappointments, lacking either originality or that distinct spark that makes for a truly memorable experience. Though I also know it is by far the hardest thing of a game to nail, so here's to hoping. Though the music sounds promising. Also, if you want a signal boost, might I suggest you contact the Best Indie Games channel and they might feature you on their next video.
The game looks great, totally bookmarked. But just a friendly reminder that mixing up how/what is a common giveaway that something hasn't gotten an edit pass yet by a native speaker. 🤔 "What they are called" would be for their name. "How they are called" would be to get their attention. 🤭 I realize it's still early and stuff will look a bit rough in spots, though!

The world environment design looks nice and the character designs don't look bad. But the content of the locations, animations and combat system require changes. Filling the world - judging by the trailer, the world is half empty, which is not very good. There is not enough activity, interaction and life in the world. Animations are jerky, sometimes too sharp, lacking smoothness. Motion blur - when game developers get rid of blur effects and the like, it is not needed and is constantly turned off by everyone when playing. Combat system - you can somehow change the perspective, make a side or rear view, mixing it with live combat like in the new jrpg type The latest fantasy 15, or at least change the camera, it shows from somewhere below from the half-side and is too close to the character, and therefore there is no normal view and the models are too conspicuous half the screen.
