Yoh That Resolution when you said “I prefer them in 2nd inversion” 😮💨🔥 🥵 I always love it when you pianists do that…
It's an honor to experience your interest, skill, and joy of playing Jazz piano. Good job in getting to this level with I'm sure true effort & dedicating yourself. Hearing the way you play just sounds like so much "fun" for both the listener & you - thank you for that. 👏🏾
You’re welcome❤️😃
You're such a blessing in the industry. You just keep on simplifying complex musical sounds and make them attainable
i have no business being here... but for the vibes 😅🧋
You are welcome😅😂🩷
Classical background as well here. I remember my first year studying jazz wondering why my dominant chords just didn’t sound good or too ‘vanilla’ most of the time 😂. I understood altering the upper extensions, but it wasn’t until I grasped that it was just triad shapes that it actually clicked.
Anyone who’s interested in jazz piano should watch this video, well done! 👏🏻
Yeah😂
amazing teaching! as a beginner jazz pianist in middle school this is a neat trick ill definetly use in my playing
🩷💯🎹
Huge Erykah Badu vibes in some of these chords! i think i can hear this E(b?) triad over G7 in the beggining of Green eyes at the npr tiny desk, performed by RC Williams
What a combination of talent, hardwork and cultural heritage, I'm so glad to discover you❤❤❤
Thanks so much❤️
You teach so well
Going to implement what I learned from this video thank you!!
Hope it helps☺️
Thank you. Let your smile shine 😃!

Wishing you a happy practice!
This video is gold! Thank you. Crunchy yes! Bill Evans vibes no?
As of yet I’ve not checked Bill Evan’s out in great depth. But it’s possible
I have the same problem many thanks for the PDF GidBless you forever
It would be nice if you could offer something on an acoustic piano. Also you started out playing I Love You and later The Days of Wine and Roses but didn’t follow up with applying your chordal suggestions to those specific tunes. We need to know what key you’re in and how the melody integrates with the harmony through one chorus of the tune. This approach would be the most effective one for students. Otherwise what you’re doing is way too abstract for beginners. Most online jazz piano tutorials fail on these points. Thanks for your presentation.
You need an acoustic piano in order to learn something? Also kindly go read the title of the video again, notice the word “advanced” this was not a tutorial for beginners. If you need more guidance here are a few links to some videos for beginners I’ve done to address your need:ruclips.net/video/07aY_MWdMq0/видео.htmlsi=lJThox9syxTwc9gL

@@thembelihledunjana Thank you for your response to my comment. And no I don’t need an acoustic piano to learn something. I was just suggesting it to offer a different sound or timbre for your playing. And no I’m not a beginner and the links you sent me did not address the suggestions i made which were intended to make you a better online teacher, different from the crowd of other teachers. My suggestions came from observations of current jazz piano method books as well as current RUclips instructors.
@rodluther982 What I’m doing works for me. But thanks for your input
❤❤
My buddy dated the violinist for the Houston symphony. He told her to lay down some tracks on his song. She said “where is the sheet music, I can’t improvise.” Zappa said the same thing about classical musicians.
Welcome back😂
👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
What type of jazz is this? 😊
By the way, I'm curious if you have any recommendations to improvise over dominant chords only? I always feel strange, but maybe I need to transcribe. I'm a classical pianist who learned the voicings but hasn't improvised enough. It sounds like you went through exactly what I'm currently going through. I have a good ear but want to become natural with jazz.
Making a video on this soon. Nonetheless yeah, transcribing is the way to go!
Thembi please note that I tried to get the PDF and pay you £2 but the payment would not go through?
Unless you get this sorted you will lose money…
Which pdf are you talking about?
@@thembelihledunjana the triads over major chords?
Oh, I’ve received a few donations on my end so it doesn’t seem to be an issue but I’ll check it out. Thanks for your patience🙏
Buh u a so dangerous
Although I like your video, I have to disagree with the method, you're showing the use of triads for extensions as a trick Instead of explaining that dominant chords can be built on minor and diminished scales and extensions can be also minor triads or anything else you can find within those scales, not only triads. Otherwise, good job.
Thanks, the point was to touch on one aspect
@Jazzmaster58
Could’ve kept your disagreement to yourself. She took the time out of her day to show others a concept that she uses that works for her that might help others.
@@hectorsoto5836it’s a fine comment. I’ve seen much worse on the internet. Everyone has different styles of learning that suit their own uniqueness. This video was very helpful for me and the comment here was ALSO helpful reframing it in a new way! Thanks everyone for the tips and tricks :)
So make a video
I think they’re both correct. Explaining it in tricks and as a detailed concept. Sometimes we don’t want to learn in detail we just want something quick. For example I learnt to play by ear as a kid and so I can just watch a person play nd see how that fits into what I already know nd just pick it up real quickly. Yet, at the same time I’m a theory nerd nd like to know why things work nd if time permits I’ll dabble in the Theory… Not everyone who drives a car needs to know all the science nd engineering working in the Engine 😅
