28:55 Finally! Someone is smart enough to wield a sword! They’re so incredibly effective and have so much more reach than your largest Bowie knife. Of course if you’ve got a gun, the sword is definitely better as a backup weapon, depending on your situation. But on top of the reach of the blade, the silence of using it, and the lack of needing reloading make them fantastic weapons.
Well they werent smart enough to figure out armour is useful it was a bit all over the place and they forget a number of things at times throughout the story, half the time they were using a sword in a gun fight which was just stupid
So the author combined two videogames and wrote a story based off both. Interesting
And added wendigos; don't forget about that part.!😂

@@CHIVALRYALIVE34 wendigo were the antagonists in until dawn. Honestly didn't care for this story that much. Parts didn't really make much sense to me. Aside from the storytelling at times the writing was well done

Wow, so four hours Doc, you had me forced to split this one across two days and enjoy nearly every minute of it! Don’t get me wrong, by nearly I am referring to all the chances that they had Michael at the ready for execution, but as in bad spy movie style he kept escaping! That was enough to keep my grade on this from a Triumph to just outstanding. It can get to be too much after so many times. Aside from all that I finally got to “see” a character effectively use a sword in constant combat and quite damn well at that! I made another comment about it and I think the story proved my “point”, (no pun intended)😂. But it’s true that not enough of these types of survival type stories ever have even one person who chooses to at least have a sword. I won’t beat a dead horse here, but it was quite satisfying. The rest of all the time was fantastic! Who’d guess that one could listen to anything for so long and not even find the urge to stop for the sake of lack of interest. No, this kept me enthralled the whole time and I’d love to hear more from the author who I’m fairly certain I already have as this was not a new release. You’d most likely find it under “classics” rather than there. And rightfully so! Definitely one worth the time investment, and it reached into all the areas of an actual end of the world situation. Foraging for herbs, avoiding predators whether infected or Supernatural, and keeping a city behind a huge and supremely strong wall. One huge question that I do have, where was the electricity generated from? Had it been that it’d all happened so recently that it just wasn’t shut down yet? Or were they near a waterfall that had an hydroelectric dam? I don’t think it was ever explained and things such as that do tend to get under my skin. Albeit minimally.
So I must offer the highest of Praise to Terra627, the author of this Outstanding piece of work! And without forgetting who brings us so much joy the Great Dr Creepen himself for his time and extensive effort that he has put into this for our entertainment. Both of you have gone beyond the scope of a standard narrator and writer, and have set and raised a new bar for all of those who think that they compete with you. Alas they merely follow and as good as many are, they’ll still remain lesser. Thank you both for so much just for us. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🫡🫡🫡🫡

I found myself making comment after comment on the silly/wrong details of this story. Not because I was wrong, just realizing something obvious about the author.
I have some questions about some of the plot points. My first one is where is Matt? He was mentioned multiple times, but he never appears nor his fate mentioned to my knowledge. Second, how did Bev end up infected? Where was the Infected that bit her?

The medical benightedness always rears its head in tales like this one-Describing the cordyceps infection as fungal. Good. Two sentences later calling it a virus. Bad.
The whole point of the opening to The Last of Us, the show, was to explain and foreshadow why fungal infections might become more dire than a virus or bacteria.

Lots of issues with the story but thats what happens when you maken it too broad you miss out details and go off track in your own fantasy world rather than sticking to plot

This is so obviously a fantasy world of the author with a number of there interests included the made it clear at the start they dont like the "mainstream media" 😂 some of the characters are probably even based off people they know

But I get it, the cordyceps intro was needed as a reason for Samantha to bring in a sword. What I don't get is why Michael needed Jessica to put the message under Hannah's door but I don't feel like wasting two more hours to find out if there is a reason other than plot convenience.
