    Me encanta la forma paciente y detallada con que explica la Mtra. Esther Ekhart, aprendo mucho tan sólo viéndola, pero por favor ¿habrá alguna forma de conseguir estos videos con buenos subtítulos en español?. Muchas gracias.

    hello esther, I just want to ask whether getting a bruise on the forearm is a normal thing whilw doing headstand. I recently noticed that I get a bruise on my elbow. it has also gabe me a dark spot next to my elbow wc gave me the conclusion that it was probably due to friction. how do I avoid these? really appreciate the feedback. thank y

    Hi, 53 yr. male and I can do this for 2 mins straight. Not a yoga student. Now one thing bothers me about almost every explanation. The weight distribution is rarely talked about in detail. In my learning curve, I've had to play with this. I have not yet found the sweet spot. One article says, 80% head, 20% arm support. I tend to agree. When I've used and still use too much arm power, things turned into an arm stand and stability was lost. Too much head, and I could feel the strain on the spine. Keep on playing with it , I guess. Again, I wish teachers would elaborate more on the feeling of weight on head vs arms.

      Hi! I totally understand! I had the same issue. You should not feel any weight on your head. It should be just feeling the floor underneath and helps you center. Most of your weight should be in the shoulder girdle and the abs are what hold you in this pose! It can be done of course with weight on the head but that is not correct as far as I learned when studying to become a teacher:) I was doing it wrong at first with too much weight on the head and I didn't understand why I would always be sore after! I have the problem that the top part of my arm is longer than my head so I have space so if that is the case you can place a blanket across the top of your arms in-between them and your head which makes up for that space. If the top part of your arms is shorter than the distance between your head neck then you would want to place a blanket underneath your arms. you can measure this by bringing arms bent inwards like your doing a tricep curl and then lift your elbows by your ears. if your elbows are about the same height of your head then you don't need modifications. if they are longer, put a blanket in between head and arms and if they are shorter put a blanket underneath arms!

    My head starts to feel heavy/pressured when i walk in with my feet. What am i doing wrong? :( my shoulders aren't away from my ears enough?

    • @marymckenna9117
      @marymckenna9117 6 лет назад

      You are putting too much weight into your neck! Sometimes people whose elbows are higher than your head if you bring your elbows too your ears means you need a blanket in between your head and on top of.your arms. I will try to find a link here to help you!
