The company I worked for provided company trucks where the operator would pick up all the workers then we'd drive to location. Only problem was that sometimes my crew didn't want to pick me up which was a pain in the ass. It kinda made me pissed that they did that. I can't speak for all companies but if it's a good company they'll most likely give you a company vehicle with a gas card. I think it's rare that they'll have you drive your own car unless they were reimbursing you.

Hey man how did it go?
Is it possible to be dropped off at man camp for two week stay and then be picked up at end of two weeks? I don't have a car right now.
My dad has been working in the oilfield the majority of his life. Funny enough his name is Marcos. My current job is shit. I want to work in the oilfield and make a lot of money and put that money into savings and once I have enough, get out and put the money towards what I really wanna do which is acting.
Thanks for your information.
I'm a very light dude. Not the strongest. Is that gonna matter if I wanna do this job or should I bulk up first?
Not really I worked with a guy that was 5'7" about 170lbs and he was a machine! There are going to be multiple tasks that require physical strength but if you have a good crew I'm sure they'll help out
Great Content. Very detailed. Thanks bro.
Thank you!. Im of to Albert in a few week.
I have an interview today for a floor hand. I’ve been in oil and gas for almost 2 years now for frac sand but the floor hand is more money
Getting ready to try and be a floorhand now done alot of construction and such and my whole family is worried about me but im doing it anyways
Thank you for this video.
In short, my wife and I of 24 years recently separated and I lost everything as a result. Career included.
I need to find an entry level job where overtime is basically uncapped and earning potential is high. I have heard working in an oil field can be this. Is this accurate?
If so, how would I go about finding such jobs? Would companies hire a 48 year old with zero experience in the industry?
Thanks so much for your help!
Thanks for the info man! Great video!👍🏾
I'm in my mid-40s, in excellent health, no wife or kids. I'd like to get in to it. Ready to leave my career in elevators and I like to travel as well and cold weather doesn't bother me. Where do I sign up?
Check out the Facebook groups
@@miguelpineda9525 Thanks. Any one you'd recommend? Are you the guy in the video?
@@Quad8track im not but I’m looking into joining the oilfield myself I’ve been told to looks in the Facebook groups and you’ll see people post job fair or positions that are available in the field
@@miguelpineda9525 Same here. I'd like to contact the guy in the video. I can't find his name.
very informative, thank you.
I have 10 years of experience in exploration Drilling, I want to join the oilfields as a floorhand.. Any advice for me please.. Thanks
Did you find something?
What company did you work for ? Im looking around the ft lupton area.
Thank you for this advice. Appreciate it a lot. :))
Are there any 44-year-old floor-hands out there?
Great video 💯 fixing to go be a floorhand now 😁
I’m a 21 year old college drop out about to go to an interview as a floorman tomorrow don’t know how to feel to be honest
do it, make some money then go learn a trade
@@neverhungryagain2187 nah he can just get his cdl
@@telavid809 cost money to get cdl
@@neverhungryagain2187 yeah but given the context he should have enough to get it or some companies will sponsor you
what's gonna be required in the fit test?
We start guys out at leasehand cleaning shit before they get moved up to floorhand
I don't have my cdl anymore so this is now my option at 46.I already work outside with airplanes but lay offs are coming.
Whats the diff of roustabout and floor hand ✋🏾
Trying to stab a joint when the metal floor was slippery was the most difficult part for me. Otherwise it was long hard work for good pay.
My biggest deal is my Asthma it gets back at random times and I have to use my nubulizer. You think they would be cool with that?
If anybody is looking for oil field work apply to Patterson uti based in Texas
What's starting pay as floorhand
I have an interview there today but for Ohio/wv area
Just be prepared to cold and miserable or hot depending on the time of year. Good boots are another one. Redwing pecos with the supersole. Your feet are going to hurt from standing for 12hrs a day its normal. Just embrace the suck. Your about to make more money than you've ever made in your life.
Good points!
On the job I was required to wear FR overalls and they were hot as hell to wear in the summer. As for footwear I had insoles for my feet that helped a lot.
And while at most times it does suck, sometimes the payout can be more great.
what kind of money are we talking about ?
@@TheDa6781 Around 2500 a week starting out
@@catdog9572 as a deck hand ? man, that must be some serious work.
@@catdog9572is it one week on one week off or every week. If the former, that’s not more than we’ve made in our lives
Ducking amazing video man
What company you with? I haven't heard floor hand before. We call them ground hands.
How is a LEASEHAND different from a FLOORHAND?
No roustabout on your rigs... Positive Attitude is a must, leave the B.S. at home..this is going to be your family they need to know you got their back as they have yours. You should have what we call Thick Skin. Their will be a lot of jokes with the fellas. Stay Safe. "Dirty Hands Clean Money,"
I have to showup tomorrow morning for the job, what should I wear? 😂
Got my cdl suspended so when I get that fixed will I be able to apply for a cdl position or is it a long process and I should probably just apply for floorhand?
Hey! So interesting, but i have a question.... How stong should i be?
Do any companies give you the option between day and night shifts?
To be honest it Sounds Scary especially the H2S
Fellow Coloradan (Colorado Springs); I can attest: CO's gotten PRICEY!
Yes indeed it has
Ive been thinking of a career change for a few years. Im a licensed aircraft mechanic but ive been away from that industry for over 10 years since a on job injury. Im 46. Is it too late? Im currently working in the school system
Just got hired. What boots do you recommend bro? Ima be in Williston. So I need something that’s gonna keep my feet warm. Please lmk thank you
Congratulations!
All of these are steel toe
Cheaper boots:
Noble outfitters $90
Caterpillar Waterproof $100
High quality:
Dr. Martens Rigger $150
Ariat Workhog $200
Cat Indiana 2.0 $150 (If you have the money I would strongly recommend these, the inside padding is excellent and they are pretty warm)
Also wearing weather proof socks like carhart is a huge difference
Can’t go wrong with a pair of insulated waterproof steel toe red wings👍🏽
Mucks for winter redwings for summer what company I'm in Williston too
Is there any difference between oil drilling and exploration Diamond Drilling ?
Diamond drilling a lot more physical
Only PQ
After a month you left ?
Do u gotta have your own vehicle or they give u a company vehicle or meet at a shop then y’all drive to the site
I'm in colorado myself which oil rig would you recommend going to
It’s hard work
My best motivation is seeing my checks an remembering what they use to look like when I was a security guard lmao
My checks make my old ones look like spare change in the cup holder
do you get paid 1.5x for overtime?
H2S isn’t something you really come across. It can be harmful but it’s really the last thing most people actually worry about. There’s much worse stuff in the refineries and Chem plants. I’d be much more worried about phosgene or HF
Bro iv applied and called several places but when you bring up no experience it's like ot scares then away I'm willing to do the work I want too iv wanted too for a while and I'm willing to learn even if I have to travel that ain't am issue for me im 18 I ain't got anything going for me rn yk 😂
