    I've heard Cena both on Austin's and Jericho's podcasts, he doesn't sound out of touch to me at all, he seems to be well aware of why the crowds boo his character and while talking to Austin, he publicly called out the company for being complacent over the years. If he is a yes-man and does whatever Vince tells him to do, that's obviously part of a problem, not a solution. Though I have heard reports before where Cena wanted to turn heel and was shot down, last year it was reported that he spoke up against bulldozing the Wyatts, but Vince wouldn't hear it. Cena also insisted on postponing his elbow surgery to put over Bryan at SS, while Vince wanted them to do a battle royal. So while Vince might be undeniably out of touch, I think the John Cena situation seems to be a bit more complex. I think HHH would be able to handle Cena a lot better than Vince.

      King Magic It would be interesting if Cena for real wanted to change his character with Vince's disapproval, or otherwise, Vince wanting change but Cena saying no. Who knows, a real heated backstage relationship turned into an a storyline, I could take WWE interesting and serious again for once, and I'll probably be not the only one.

    The Rediculusness of Comparing John Cena to Superman,the difference is Superman Struggles to win his fight and he's being tested through trials and hardships,he lost to Batman a couple of times and sometimes he was the antagonist
    Cena is always the good guy,he doesnt't show any stress winning feuds,he always gets his redemption when he loses,he rarely loses cleanly,and when he loses,he justifies his loses and looks like a jackass when he tries to justify his loss.
    Superman = Can be the symbol of hope when he's written right
    Cena = the Biggest Corporate shell in WWE history

    So here it goes, John - I'm listening, Vince - You'll lose the first match - WHAT?! - But you'll win the rematch and that will end the feud - Oh, ok I was scared for a moment - Don't worry. Then you'll cut a promo of how you never give up - Again? - Trust me, John. They'll love it! - Right right - Then you'll say how passionate you are, working every day for the past ten years, and then we'll find you a fresh feud with a guy that everybody likes, so you can fuck him up in the rematch again.

    MVP's losing streak is, in my opinion, one of the best shows of character building displayed by WWE. The audience watched as MVP's ego was chipped away with each loss. As he lost confidence in himself and became more vulnerable, the crowd's vitriol turned into sympathy. It got to the point where the crowd started rooting for him to win, completing his slow turn from heel to face
    I wish that WWE would remember this storyline.

    I can't believe people are acting like Cena has no creative control over his character, storylines and whether he wins or loses. Guys, he's been with the company for 15 years, been on the main roster for 13 years and been in the Main Event for over 10 years, of course he has fucking say over what he does.
    In Cena's defense, professional wrestling is basically a one-show town now, don't give me this TNA or ROH crap... they are both nothing on WCW, ECW, independent wrestling companies in the 1990s or the wrestling territories preceding that, they're just not. If that era of wrestling was still around, it would be much different.
    It feels weird that Cena is probably going to end his career trouncing Ric Flair's World Championship record, considering he's 38 now and probaby won't pack it in until his mid 40s, at least.

      @moneymatt536 8 лет назад +1

      eagleslfootball I never said it was only a cena problem. It's a WWE problem. Burying other guys to get over one guy(currently the Roman reigns treatment). The concept is flawed because the rock was at the top of his game back in 1998-2002 and still put over guys. The rock didn't always win his matches. He was not a burying tool. Meaning john cena after all these years could lose much more matches and still be very credible considering all the guys he's beat. No argument here. No cena hate but it's a WWE thing with top guy's which is frustrating.

    • @HBK492
      @HBK492 9 лет назад

      wwetnaful No. They gave Del Rio the title in 2011, than he lost in his first title defense to Cena, than won it back fro m Cena by burying Punk and beat Cena in LMS with the help of 2 guys. Feud with Cena made him look like a jobber. And also, Sandow wasn't pushed, but it was Cena who turned him into a jobber after beating him with one arm. End of the story.

    • @wwetnaful
      @wwetnaful 9 лет назад +1

      HBK492 Del Rio lost the belt to Cena but at least he won it back from Cena in 2011, but do you even remember his feud against CM Punk afterwards? Punk basically buried him on the mic with another one of his "pipebombs" by saying Del Rio is boring and no one cares abut his destiny and then he said he was going to make the title mean something. What even worse is he beat Del Rio clean in his first title defense and was never the same again. His feud with Punk did more damage to him than and match he had with Cena. And I'm sorry but Sandow was a total jobber before losing to Cena, when you can't get a spot on Mania 29 against Brodus Clay, win the MITB later in the year, but then lose on every preshow while carrying a briefcase.....you don't need Cena to beat you to confirm being a jobber..........

    I really don't understand what is with you fans and this hatred towards Vince McMahon and John Cena. Vince McMahon had one of the greatest minds in wrestling and you all know it. So when he's booking John Cena like he should, he knows what he's doing. And let's face it people, if you were John Cena's spot, you'd all do the same thing. And that is make yourself look good.

      Having Cena play the same old "invincible superhero who can only be beaten by cheating or interference, hardly ever loses clean and has excuses made for his losses even when he loses clean and otherwise always wins" character for 13 years isn't Vince booking Cena like he should. Top babyfaces should lose cleanly every so often.

    You can't compare WWE to the NBA. Basketball isn't scripted or predetermined. The main reason why most people dislike Cena is because he is booked to beat everyone that is put in front of him. I can't speak for every fan but, if I saw him win an actual honest to god fight I would dislike him just little less. Also Hollywood would gladly take the Cena script. Ever heard a little movie called Rocky? Rocky Balboa got his win back all the time. He barely lost to Creed in the first movie. Then he beat him in the 2nd movie. Then in the 3rd he lost to Clubber Lang and in the same movie he got his win back.

    Meanwhile even if Cena put over CM Punk and Daniel Bryan for selfish reasons the fact is still that Cena DID put them over.

    This crap all started when he unveiled the "Spinner-Belt" championship? My GOD!!! That lasted for far too long, even when the title changed hands, the belt design still didn't change. It finally took The Rock to change the damn belt design to what it is now and this guy is STILL at the top. He might not be World Champ anymore, but that shit is irrelevant at this point. It's not about titles anymore with his character, he can have any title he so desires at the drop of a dime.
    ...I was leading to some point, but halfway through me writing this I don't even care anymore. That's a problem, but it seems like that's the only way WWF/E will finally see that ppl are fed up to the point where they don't give a fuck anymore

    I feel we've mulled over the point a million times. It's not likely to change. I mean, you take into account that WWE will always get asses in seats. And whether you feel raw about Cena or not, makes no difference. John will always be the proverbial figurehead because Vincent Kennedy McMahon and the united WWE machine is never going give that up.
    If we truly want to invest our time in better wrestling, we must advocate it. Quit making it seem like such a chore to watch professional wrestling and embody what it means to be a "hardcore" fan. Advocate what needs to be done or refuse to watch. Simple. I mean, I barely watch WWE's televised shows . I don't feel like I miss anything . And no matter how much I hope for a better show, WWE, in all it's glory, never cease to make that a pipe dream. It's even a chore to watch reviewers because there is no enthusiasm in their reviews. So much so, that topic such this will beaten to death. I mean better were the days when we could speak highly of WWE. That be another thing; nostalgia trips. Why do we have to equate the present to the past? I believe we've become out of touch as well if we got to dig so far back to find better days. But I guess that will be the norm because wrestling has become lost art. We are left with stagnant character, mediocre builds that lead to nowhere, and insatiable amount of recycling the same concept at nauseam.
    I feel we as fans, whether casual or die-hard, are more at war with ourselves than the company. You have some who wish for change, some who are find with the way it is, and some who . . . .just don't care. In the end, we still watch. Inspite of monotony that is sports entertainment, we will contribute our time in watching guys like John Cena do his usual shtick almost every night if he sees fit.

    One major contradiction in an otherwise very good video. If Cena is as much of a corporate tool as you claim, by design he in fact wouldn't have nearly as much control over his character as other top super stars had. What good is a corporate shill if he isn't 100% under your command?
    Considering the glaring lack of reports over the last 10 years influencing an argument Cena is a politician to the likes of Hogan, Austin or HHH (where wrestling politics goes, there will be smoke at some point in a 10+ year stint at the top). Combined with the overbearing, extravagance of the Cena brand and how it dominates every arm of WWE's business model, lends me to a manner of thinking that Cena is merely just a willing pawn. Which makes his sin something which has hurt WWE more than politicians since 2001, he's the ultimate yes man.

Think about it he can get over with adults and kids alike, he is really good in ring and on the mic, hes the perfect star for the WWE and Vince Mcmahon is a fan of him and so is HHH. If they really want to prove that they like Finn, then let him beat cena, who the hell is gonna side with cena when Finn does the Demon entrance? NOBODY. He is the only guy besides Brock Lesnar who can beat Cena clean and kids will like Finn due to his Superhero look and the bodypaint. WWE can fuck up Owens because they're stupid, but they cant possibly fuck up Finn Balor.

Also, to me, when Cena won his first WWE title at Wrestlemania, slowly but surely he broke free from the Thuganomics characters and started acting like, "I am no longer mortal!". Ryan Deffley Hogan, Warrior, and Savage won all the time too. If John Cena lost more or if Hogan, Warrior, Savage were shown as beatable, then not only wouldn't it mean anything anymore, but it weakens the entire roster. So maybe people need to think before they say that this guy should lose more because John Cena losing all the time is not a good thing for the roster. Beating John Cena doesn't automatically main somebody a star. It's been proven time and time again.

    Vince is more out of touch than Cena is, and John Cena makes money for them so there is no way that the WWE is going to kill their money maker, no matter how much bitching and whining that the fans do. Just removing John Cena and Vince Mcmahon will not solve WWE's problems. The WWE has the weakest main event roster in years. You not only see Kane continuously on screen, and also he's in main events. You have a terrible divas division, even though the fans don't give a shit who the divas champion is. Yes Cena and Vince are a problem, but it will take more than just having some up and comer pin Cena's shoulders on the mat, and they instantly become a star. It doesn't work like that. Nobody knows how exactly if John Cena even calls the shots without anybody having concrete proof. If he's told to do a job for somebody, he has to do it. This isn't WCW when Hogan and his boys did what they wanted. Austin couldn't get away with refusing to do a job if he is told to do so. Cena has some influence, but there is no way of knowing what he influences. He's not going to lose every single match that he's in.
