I just watched a video by a physician teaching mistakes people commonly make when taking blood pressure.
One of the points he made is that the standard for taking blood pressure is to use the left arm, unless there are contraindications.
He said the different arms will give different readings, and so to keep blood pressure measurements consistent across the board everyone should use the same arm.
Another mistake he made is making the cuff too tight, or too loose before inflating it. He said you should be able to insert 2 fingers under the cuff before inflating it. More fingers and it will be too loose. If you can't get 2 fingers under there it will be too tight.
