From your video it is hard to tell, but how smooth were the holes you drilled? Would you recommend using a sandstone bit to smooth out the holes some? Thanks for the video!
Hey Bryan, I don't really have the size measurements. I just used an old Aggravation board as my template. I also can't recall the size marbles I used. I do remember there were two different sizes to choose from when I bought them and I went with the smaller marbles, which seem to work okay.
So if I understand right the guide bushing you put on fits the holes of your template. I need to try this cause it's really hard to use a plunge router and get the oils perfectly in line without some kind of system.
I am getting ready to do this project for myself. I do not have any template (and I cannot find one) so I am wondering if you have the measurements for the spacings of the holes you made (i.e. how far apart are the holes from one another and what is the distance from the hole in the middle to the holes closest to it). Finally, I have 5/8 inch marbles I am using. Will your holes fit this size of marble? thank you
Hey how did you cut out the holes in your template board? I'm looking to do the same, using a CAD drawing to make a template on 3/8" HDF. I'm using a 1/2"core box bit, so my template holes will be 5/8". A 5/8" drill just thrashes the hole. Any advice?

Rachelle Haymore I thought the holes were very smooth. I did sand the whole thing after I was done, but it really turned out great. We still use it.

I used an old aggravation board game as my template, and used bit with a guide bushing that fit perferctly
