"The Legend of Hao Lan" based on the late Warring States period, revolves around the struggle between the Qin and Zhao states. The Zhao state Censor's daughter Li Haolan (Wu Jinyan acted) was forced to be a slave because of family struggle , the businessman Lv Buwei (Nie Yuan acted) bought him. Later with the Qin proton Ying Yiren(Mao Zijun acted) produced chemistry after twists and turns.

I miss Yiren so much. He loved Haolan so dearly but always suspected she never loved him as much as she loved Lu Buwei. I miss this show lol I can't believe it ended the way it did
I don’t think he really suspected that. On his deathbed he says with the utmost confidence “you don’t know how much Haolan loves me” when Lubuwei mentions trying to get Haolan back. It was selfish of him to ignore her at the end, but that was more of wanting to be remembered (hated) forever. I miss Yiren too… After becoming Zichu, he was never able to love her the same.
@@coolbuz1 yup. I do believe over time Hoalan truly loved Yiren/ Zichu.
You need to watch all the history. Zichu cheated her (his reasons don't justify enjoy a life like a brothel brat while Haolan and his son was living a hell), ignored her, played with her (he was manipullative since the beggining trying to mold her like he wanted) and he didn't trust her, letting many people plays with her. If this is love I prefer hate. He could had loved her but his character was too cheap to be faithful to this pure feeling.
More people should put older people who are evil in their places like he did, cheers to that kid

@@ksmiles9024 First of all, I'm not a psychologist these are just my own thoughts. Secondly, I should revise my statement to say that after watching several clips, ending with this clip, that's how I came to my conclusion.
You can see that he is impulsive and aggressive here, which, although justified, other clips have shown these behaviours escalating later on. He had a difficult childhood, as explained by Haolan here. This explains how can't trust those around him and why he seems to have difficulty with relationships with those around him. Also, Haolan so casually feigned illness here to deceive and manipulate someone they should be able to trust (husband/father). I can imagine this kind of behaviour becomes ingrained in him so that lying and manipulating people around him for his gains is normalized.
Both Haolan and Zheng'er were not in the wrong here. However, this clip is an example of how Zheng'er's personality is shaped through his childhood experiences.

Lol he ate her right on up. One of my fab things bout this drama has always been thr fact that half thr cast of Story of Yanxi Palace is in it. Tho Yanxi is the better drama

@@Jelly-hq7ug Story of Yanxi Palace has lots scheming and danger and suffering for main character. But I would say it has a good end. Since they are real characters. I wouldn't call this a spoiler. It follows them through to the end of their lives. The details of their lives isn't written so that is fiction in the drama.

hello, can someone explain whats the difference between huang(hou)and wang(hou) characters, do they both mean royal? how come in another qing dynasty drama they use huang hou but this one uses wang hou :O
the legend of haolan is set in the time right before the unification of china under qing shi huang di - before him, the idea of a sole emperor had not existed, and therefore, the usage of wang(王) is used here. however, after qing shi huang di (who is actually zheng'er once he becomes king) unifies the six states, he and the emperors after him began using huang (皇) to define themselves as "the chosen ones of the heavens" since they were the rulers of a unified china
