Just a tip.....I always place a small torpedo level across the 6-32's sticking out before tightening the bracket for perfect level. If I'm off a hair and the light isn't straight from the street....well you know the rest! Great video Brian.
Replaced several of my sconces a couple years ago. It all looks very familiar, except I used a bolt cutter on the fixture adapter lugs/screws to get them to length. Was a bad idea, as then had a little trouble with the end thread being a little too malformed on one or two of them, and had to take a file to them. Good stuff, thanks!
Yea lol 😆 I still cut them with my linemans and I'm still learning 🤣. But yea the guy that also replied under this is right. You take the screw out put screw it in your wire strippers and it gives it a nice cut. Problem is u have to take it all apart. But better safe than sorry
LED’s suck, great troubleshooting and glad to see you using twist on’s I’ve used wago’s three times and twice I had to go back because wire falling out. They’re great where there’s plenty of room but in a tight box they suck. Great vid 👍👍
Man I don't know how u do it! I used to have to work out of town in the UP of Michigan. Those towers were tall!!! And of course when we were out there it was cold. Thanks!!!
I bet those old fixtures we're not working with the led bulbs correctly because they had a built in dimmer with the motion sensor only meant for incandescent bulbs. I’ve had some that would make led bulbs flicker but incandescent would work correctly.
What I have learned about property managers and rental property owners is they don't care what something looks like as long as it works, it doesn't have to match or even look good for that matter🙄
Glad it wasnt an issue on the brick that would have been fun to fish. No pigtail and jam the joint into the back? Just suggestions for thoes very cold fingers 😆. I wish I could tell the customer no fixing just replace it. Better yet if one builder grade product is dying replace them all. Oh well good money thanks
Company I worked for before I retired working from them for 4 years they own over 10 thousand homes in the Phoenix AZ Valley. We had 23 technicians HVAC certified. The make ready teams were told to install LED light fixtures that would fail within 6 months. Us technicians all agreed to replace them with incandescent light fixtures. It reduced our service calls.
@@thehandymanexperience226 oh yours in the video for sure. I was more referencing the fixtures Leo was saying he noticed failing within the six months of install.
@@natashaball316 I was thinking about it but I think I'm ok right now. I'm weird with this stuff I hear u make a little from it. But I kinda like not having a bias and just being honest with the stuff I'm using
Obviously you know what you're doing but I have a better method capping stranded with solid. Strip your stranded wire long. Then twist the stranded tip wire. Then fold the stranded stripped wire in half. When you go to cap the two wires together. Put the stranded wire slightly passed the solid. When you twist the cap on the stranded will twist in an then the soldi wire will twist in behind it, locking it in. By folding it you basically create more for the cap to grab into. This method will lock in the stranded wire solid. I've installed hundreds of light fixtures before developing this method.

Good idea, thanks ! But sometimes level isn't good it matters what looks good on the house. It's hard to explain but Like following brick etc.

Some wire strippers have the bolt cutter built in, and it you thread it in the right way, it will leave you with good threads.

Nice job as always ... I always liked troubleshooting too ... Thx
Thanks!! Yep, it definitely fun sometimes lol 😆
Great work even colder up here in North Mi.

Great troubleshooting really good job Brian thanks for the video.
Thanks Bro!!! Thanks for watching!!!
They are Cubs fans. That is why the lights don't work. If they were Sox fans, they would be fine. Lol. Love the videos. Keep up the good work.
O man bringing sides into this hahahhaha lol
@thehandymanexperience226 lol 😆
Wago is way faster than wire nuts. Awesome vid as usual man!
Thanks!!
Nice work Brian!
Thanks dude!
What kind of multi-tool do you use? By the way, I love how you go with the flow when you hear from the "experts." You have such a good attitude.

@@lightsandlights9898 that's a good idea but I show in the vid I wasn't getting the proper voltage
I might have checked the old light one more time after re-doing the splices to be sure. And use some Wago's for that.

I believe it and just had a call today with leds took the bulb out and put a incandescent in and it worked. Crazy stuff!!
I guarantee that had more to do with the cheap fixture than the fact that it was LED.
@@oldfredbear yea It was cheap probably back in the day but those lights are probably like 15 years old plus

I’m gonna send you a girlie calendar to go above that stupid fire extinguisher

Why did u unscrew the bulbs with ur hand instead of just unscrewing them by turning the ladder.

I don't like folding wire , but I'm sure it will work as long as ur getting a connection. But I see your thinking forsure
Powers off but did u lock and tag out. OSHA

bro no way are wire nuts faster than wago lol
Hahahhah lol 😆 I knew I was gonna stir some stuff up. There faster for me lol 😆 😅 ok bahahhahah
@@thehandymanexperience226 have you tried the ideal lever connectors that are a copycat of wago? wago is def better, but they are cheaper
