Replacing Rubber Wheel In Milwaukee Transfer Pump/ Ford Transit 2023 Update
Man, I get that time is money and your are young but working on live wires/panels will end you immediately, or worse, make you incapable of working. Be safe before all else.
What type of camera do you use when doing work ? Thanks
Go pro hero 11 nothing too special and I use a wrap around Mike that also attaches a light
in cases where the old fixture is being replaced and they have multiple wires without pigtails, I just cut the wires off near the old fixture and leave them as pigtails for the new fixture. ground first, then neutral and last hot. harder to get zapped when you're not grounded. obviously only if the wires is in good shape, decent gauge, connected well and only feeding the new single fixture.
owwww, my head! 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
ok at 16:31, if they ran rigid conduit and transitioned to emt in kitchen, they probably converted from rigid to emt at the panel end also, so somewhere in garage or near is splice boxes or trough. I did see a blank cover below panel at one point, but that certainly wouldn't be big enough. maybe buried in wall or behind junk in garage? it sure won't pull if it's spliced or goes through boxes at angles.
Yea I checked that junction box under the panel, it wasn't it
probably hits the hallway outlet by door (with air freshener plugged in) and maybe other in hallway back towards the panel. likely pulled through and spliced through others along the way too. the fault must have cleared itself when resetting the breaker before, probably a wire nut off somewhere or a device screw nicked into it inside a box. **also, don't think you checked the vent hood, hard to say what circuit it's cobbled onto. lol
not sure of the age/builder, but it was common to have an outdoor receptacle (front or rear) tied to the kitchen circuit. simply a cost cutting measure to save GFCI, wiring and circuits. good enough to meet code(one at front, one at rear). we did that in new construction in the mid 90's, also garage off 1st floor powder room gfci, sometimes other outdoor receptacles off other bathroom GFCI. still seen it done in 2010+ homes with AFCI/GFCI in panels, they just dangle the front and rear off whatever general lighting circuit is closest.
What a DUMP
Hi brother, don’t you know anything?
Did you have the main power off to the panel?
I didn't
But safety is number one !
Those companies are a bad way to get work…..you seem determined and set up somewhat decently…….you can get work other ways and you’ll make even more.
Yea it's hard working for them since they want to pay less. The funny thing is I'm pushing the envelope. Some of the managers I work for they say my prices are double than what their used to pay. Yep this is true, having them. I try to have a mix of work. Customer work is drying up or at least the services I'm offering.
The problem home warranty customers you speak off probably were already jacked around by the company prior to your arrival. Companies such as American Home Shield are the largest scams out there. Nobody wins, they screw the homeower and screw the contractors. 24 THOUSAND complaints to the BBB over the past three years are for a reason.....
Mother what did you blimp out? 🤣
Lol 🤣
Do you have a compression sleeve puller tool? Thanks for the video!
I have one better, I have the ring splitter. The puller tool damages pipe if the ring is too tight.
@@thehandymanexperience226 Okay thats pretty good info thanks!
@@natashaball316 no problem!! yea I had to learn it my self. It's a triangle orange looking thing
@@thehandymanexperience226 Yes I found one on Amazon! :)
Dude, the ref had power when you opened the doors cause the lights were on and then you had no power after you pulled the ref out. WTF? 🤔
lol, it was plugged into a power strip/extension cord on floor ran in front to left of stove/sink by microwave where he tested power at gfci.
Man I wish I would have went to school for electrical. Seems very beneficial to have the license and know how. Did you do a lot of electrical work outside of your tower climbing days?
I do a mix, it's never too late ! Alot of repairs don't require a lot of skill, some more than others. Plus u could get a ton of info on utube. Schooling now a days seems like a rip off. But it matters what you want to do. I could always work for someone and get paid to learn.
Chevy stopped putting a trans fill tube on the latest Chevy work vans…. So annoying… and there very unreliable as it is. Switched over to the ram pro masters
I almost bought the promaster
half the amount of work same amount of money is a win win. more free time
Amen!!
200 is a fair price.
I think so too!!
I’ve been doing drains for years and honestly gotta be very careful in that corrugated piping. It’s so cheap… and most of the time it’s completely packed with mud/roots. Normally I run a camera if possible and see where it’s blocked and dig it up if it’s not deep at all… or give an estimate to run sch40 pvc.. depending on condition of old the old corrugated Good job Homie love your videos have for awhile 🎉
I love that idea, thank u I appreciate it man!!
Here the big guys charge WAYYY more booked years in advance and don’t even do a very good job. And don’t advertise with yellow pages or yelp. Google is the way to go… I’m free having tons of 5 star reviews and get a decent amount of work. If I spent money on advertisements I could easily grow but finding decent employees even at $50/h is hard…. Very hard. I’m exteriors roofing, siding etc. also do small builds, additions, garages, and all wood interior/exterior finishes and painting. We’re so spread out tho like 1h 15m from our little town. Filled with rich city folk cottages. The drive kills ya especially if your like me and live 15 mins south for jobs half hour plus away. Hard to be a basic one man show and two guys helping installing. Need a 4 man crew at least that I can leave work while I quote.
Yep u sound like u have a different problem and it sounds like u know what ur doing! Yea it gets troublesome sometimes, it takes getting burned or learning to raise my prices or drive charges. Time usually weeds the experience out. Lol certain jobs I price high or what ever but I'm sure u get what I'm saying.
@@thehandymanexperience226 “shit jobs”. I quote so high hoping to not get them but I still do lmfao
It's nice when your not a electrician with 200dollars an hour and a ton of overhead on simple stuff like that. I do not endorse rewiring an entire house or pannel swaps were liability matters pay there insurance bills.
I am licensed in electrical but that's besides the point. I still have a bunch of over head.
I get that stuff expensive but when you got even basic skills you gotta get paid. Gfci 200ish is about normal with part and cover at 30 to 50 for parts. Or tr outlets are not cheap even in bulk 20ish each? It's hard to have a firm pricing on that too because yoy go to put a cover on it now your cutting hardie plank woops the boxbehind it is broken or dosent have usable threads ect. You can see how all this adds up to oozing money. You sure have alot of metal boxes I may see one per place almost all plastic. I've been doing decora edge alot lately and it's nice in the switch box to just pull the wire and what your doing is isolated without turning off the breaker. One thing people should do and it's required when I do elecical work is pigtailed everything. There us no reason for half a room to go out when one outlet is the issues. In old houses they have alot of feeders and with a simple pigtail you keep them from loss of power. Bla bla all stuff that should be common sense but sense isn't so common anymore (make sure to reuse that 20 year old wire nut 😆 ).
I love my small jobs
Small easy work keeps you from going crazy. It's my favorite work too. If your stressed or have a chance to use your liability insurance all the time you will burn out. I'd rather get paid less ans be happy vs stressed and not able to spend it due to work.
Know exactly what you mean, some older homes and apartments have outlets and switches "daisy chained" together. guess what? everything in that room and any outlets or 3 way/4way switches maybe even going up or downstairs might be out if you miss 1 wire. I'd still have the breaker off.
$200 gets you 2 bags of groceries, my daughter just paid $225 to have one sprinkler head replaced and that’s not including the price of the head. It took 20 minutes to replace and that’s her landscaper who probably broke it when mowing 😂you need to adjust your prices to today’s economy. Nice video, good info 👍👍
This is true, I started noticing my prices from customers are starting to get more accepted. But it matters who they call. Cus if they called another handyman they could of said $100 . The problem is I'm still trying to expand my customers since there falling off. Most of my work is through property managers.
Plus all the driving around… one job could kill your entire day. People sometimes complain of my roof repair price start at $1000. I have to come prepared with everything and return what I don’t need. And drive to far away locations and back. Or 4 times if I forget one thing so repair prices have to be high for rural and size of repair and tools required.
been replacing those 3 screw glass type lights with just a medallion to cover the old paint ring then a plastic screw in type light. easier for everyone.
Good idea
If the box isn't grounded to begin with why bother adding ground wire? Adding one won't do anything.
The box wasn't grounded but the ground wire had a ground. They never bonded it to the box, easy fix and it's safe. U can't bond it to the box if there is no ground
thxs for sharing...
I got u Tom!
great video! 20:52 "you should shut the power off" , IMO at least put some temporary tape over the on-off switch, so the homeowner can't accidentally flip it. Also with dry hands you would not get much of a shock in my experience. I never worked wearing nitrile or latex gloves, so I don't know how well the could insulate you.
Gloves are always a good idea, yea anything that could stop someone turning on the power would definitely help not getting knocked on ur butt
just tighten the fixture nut until it's snug. No need to crank on it
Yea I have a problem with over tightening stuff, I don't want the stuff to fail/ fall it's a never ending struggle but I'm getting better!!
Yes, you can get "bit" off the neutral, but only if there is an open splice. If the switch is ON, your can can "bit" between the fixture white and the neutral
Yeppers yea I was trying to explain since that neutral was going somewhere else and if there is a load on it they could get hit. I learned the hard way wiring in 277 volt high bay lights in. Thought I couldn't get hit on the neutral and learned that day.
Nice work
Thanks!!!!!
Electrical makes me nervous
Haha yea it's not too bad. What makes me nervous is working on cloth wiring . Such a pain
Before an electrician arrives to troubleshoot and/or fix anything for me I clear out everything around the trouble circuit so I'm paying the electrician $80/hour to move my shit out of the way.
Cus ur a good person haha people don't move anything for Noone around here
you da man.....$ 170 is fair
Yep not bad at all
Good job 💪
Thanks ✌
I would not have posted this …
Why not? U think it's a easy fix?
Wow working on Sunday. Keep it up.
I know right, definitely wasn't feeling it that early in the morning ha
I like the improvised pin you made with the husky pick! :) Awesome video as always!
Yea I had to come up with something, once I took the snake out I realized I didn't have the pin :/
Well that was a fun ride
Yeee-hawww
What’s up with all these janitor jobs? You need to get better jobs 👍
Lol I know right!!! They had me cleaning gutters the other day cus there was a roof leak:/
Dude, make your snaking ventures much easier. Spend twenty-some bucks to get yourself a RIDGID 61718 Trident Cable De-Coupler. You’re welcome.
I'll have to look that up thanks!! Omg I just looked that up that thing is crazy!!. Thank u so much!!!
I was waiting to see if a member of the CCP was gonna come otta that pipe maaaan... 😂😅❤
Hahaha what about the Teenage mutant Nina turtles!!
Great video. I understood the lady as complaining "no water in the bowl" 5:19 "it stays empty" the water refill is not refilling, so feces would stick to everything. I would NOT want to see that cloths washer pump out its water into the sink that doesn't drain.
Thanks!! Yea sounds dirty!!
thxs for sharing...
I'm trying!!
Good hard working and on a Sunday! That sectional snake seems like a lot of extra hassle. Wouldn’t it be easier to keep all the sections attached?
It is a Hassle but sometimes I get lazy and I just go from the back end and feed the whole thing into the plastic holder when I'm retrieving it.
I just downloaded that ringtone I love it 😂😊!!!!!
Lol I usually copy my brother with the old school video game ring tones. It's always fun !!
@thehandymanexperience226 lol😊! You do great work man proud of you !!!
Really, Channel locks to remove what looks like a 4” plug. You need to invest in 24” ridged pipe wrench with a cheater pipe you can spin the world. All in all You’re still the clog master 👍👍
I think I have a ridgid 18 inch but I don't have a pipe. I usually just use the Milwaukee cheater pipe wrench. I thought I was going to break the cover cus I couldn't grab it right. Thanks bro!!
Your front seat isn't far off what happens with us. I put a velocity pro gear van bag in my font seat or sometimes it's the husky pro vehicle office bag. It forces me to deal with my mess that's how I keep myself accountable.
Veto kp-xl is something I use as well to keep common things accessible. It's also usable in a front seat or behind one.
Yea i usually put stuff in the front waiting to sort it out in the back. Weird system but it works kinda
Soon you will a T-Shirt that says "Got Roots"
Lol nailed it!! I like it!!
That equipment should be worth 100 a clog plus 100 an hour easy! People don't get that tools like that cost money. On a side note the snake looks clean and lubed good for you! I spray ours down as I put it away and there's little to no rust surprise surprise. Something I use for electrical and even plumbing is a baby monitor. I know klein has the Circut tracer and it works fine but nothing beats placing a camera on a tester or drain and seeing what's going on from far away. I don't have to ask tenants if something is on or off/works. Cheap radio frequency non wifi no internet models work great from az. Heck check out resale/used baby clothing shops garage sales name brands dirt cheap. Hope it helps and keep your snake clean 🐍.
I'll have to look into that. Yea this stufg is so expensive I try to take care of it. Snake oil is the trick bit I get lazy sometimes!!
