Muraqaba is meditation (namaz-daily 5 timeprayer, kalwatt etc) Fikr is thinking (once our mind is energized by the kick start muraqaba.we start thinking about the god. ie pure godly thinking.our mind just got plugged out of the physical world-matrix.thats fikr)
A lively and helpful introduction though there is an error in prioritisation of the transcribed terms in the video title and information: the word that should be mentioned first is Dhikr. Sufism does recognise 'Fikr' (thought/reflection) as a technique (the Qur'an often makes reference to people who reflect), but it is refers to rational thought which is deductive and reasoned, while Dhikr referes to rememberance or invocation, which is contemplative and meditative. The goal of Dhikr is to realise that which is invoked (God), beyond the conceptual limitations of mind.
The real sufi practice of attachment to God All Mighty was best practiced by prophet Muhammad (saw). Follow his example, you will find God. Directly and manifestly in your life. straight away and no delay. Why you ask? because through revelation of Islam God All Mighty has closed all other doors to Him. There is no God except the One Perfect God (Allah in arabic) and Muhammad is His Messenger.
I have meditated for 50 years and this seems very shallow to me; it is very mental whereas yoga seeks to transcend the mind and go beyond ego and personal concerns, and even beyond the personality itself into an abstract state of Being.
I've always thought of the 99 names as a concession to mind because it can't comprehend the infinite names of God
i learn something here, if you seek rahmah/love, say Ya rahman repeatedly
Read the book Muraqba by spiritual Sufi scholar khawajah shamsuddin azeemi,if anyone wants to know about Sufi muraqba meditation.
Well explained, Jazak'Allah.
muraqaba=mindfulness..
that is right .mindfulness or self-observation. this guy is apparently just a scholar and not an initiate of Sufism.

Sounds kind of like a better version Buddhism. I say better because Buddhism is somewhat nihilistic

Fanna fi Allah is a Sufi meditative practice that seeks to annihilate the ego.
Yeah that type of meditation can also cause dissociation .. just FYI.
