Just depends on the rider really.... performance wise V4 is just as good as crossplane inline 4 but when it comes to sound I lean more toward aprilia v4, it just sounds so good no matter what rpm you're at, while the R1 only sounds good on high rpms full open throttle
Any V4 is much much more powerful than any inline 4 , because that's physics and engineering, no matter what any V4 configuration with a crossplane , would be more stronger than a crossplane I4, it's just that this aprillia rider is new to dragging.
If you're comparing bikes, the Aprilia rider could ride that bike to save his life, but still managed to catch up. Which says a lot about the bike. Not so much about the person on it.
Aprilia RSV4 Factory 1078cc 217hp 122Nm Torque Yamaha R1 998cc 200hp 112Nm Torque R1 got way better electronics. it isn't a drag bike, yet it can catch up or even (with good rider) it surpasses the Aprilla which is good bike as well. at track; R1just kills it. it might overlap that bike at long run.
Launch to 60ft most important. I did on a k6 1000 with 170 crank hp and did a 10.7 on first go. With a better launch the aprilia and r1 would be high 9s

The specs your quoting are for the new RSV4 1100 Factory. This guy is on a 1000 Factory which has around the same hp as the R1.
