This is extremely helpful! I'm currently learning this piece for college auditions! Your voice is so soothing and relaxing and your playing is just gorgeous! Thank you so much for posting this!
Its such a pleasure! I wish you the best during your auditions! I hope you can subscribe and let me know the results when you get them! Happy new year and hope to hear from you again soon!
Thank you SO MUCH for making this video, Amelie!! I picked up this piece recently and can't afford lessons right now, so this video is a true blessing. I especially appreciated your advice to use the trill key at measure 73. That's so much easier and faster than trying to play that passage using the regular fingerings! You're a genius!! :)
Around the 70's I don't know if you mentioned that alternate fingering for the the note runs "C" and "D". You will never be able to play that run cleanly withouth the alternate fingering. I assume you expect anyone of us trying to play the piece should know that but I have to admit, when I first played this piece, I tried the standard "C" to "D" fingering and it was not going well. hahahahaha I almost broke my flute with my big hands in the attempt. ahahahahaha
I'm playing this right now! My lesson teacher said when she bought it she thought of me, so the pressure is on. Thanks for the video, you sound amazing!! And where do you get your thumb ports?
I sooo want to learn this piece, but I have just completed 1 year of flute online studies with Amelie, lol! I can play the first bar of it! ;) Seriously in which year of flute playing can one start to practice this piece? (Thanks Amelie, I have downloaded the music and written down your tips from this session for when I do start playing it.)
Well my new intermediate method coming out soon might help get you to that level. Maybe in a few more months or a year. Happy to hear you can play a little bit of it.
Happy the videos help and get you relaxed! Running out of air can be a problem. It never hurts to add breath marks in your music and see if that helps.
Hi! I am a student in middle school who in 4th grade played the flute for 1 year and hasn't touched a flute in 3 years and I just bought a used flute on Ebay (the gemeinhardt 2sp (in good condition)) and I was wondering if you could help me slowly come back to the flute and the all the fingerings because I plan on being a self-taught flutist and I need some tips please help.😬
The Flute Channel oh wow!! I’m on amazon looking now.. What is the sound difference between the short shotgun microphone capsule and the one you have? I see the one you have is $500, and the short shotgun capsule is like $200. Is there a sound difference because of the price ?
@@GoddessofMusicTv Im not an expert at mics that much, but the short one (me64 I assume) and K6P capsule. It just captures a bit more room noise and you need it be a bit more closer and in the shot if your wanting to make videos. here's more info about that series of mics. Usually you have to buy the two items seperate I haven't seen them in a package. www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/pro-audio/hands-on-review/the-modular-sennheiser-k6-series-explained
for who ever has played this. how long di it take you to learn it? i'm going into 5th year on flute and have a total of 6 months to learn this. Any advice?
It shouldn't take 6 months but a few weeks of good planning and taking it section by section. Also be sure to play infront of others before your test/exam. These thing can help a lot. Also recording yourself can be beneficial.
I’m so glad I found this video! I’m performing a solo for my junior year at Districts and I decided on this and although I’m doing really well for just getting the music, runs are still tricky and really annoying especially since I’ve never really had the basics of music due to being a little self taught and scales were not something I’ve really focused on so thanks!😂

that c to d grace note part is a tongue twister. Glad im not the only one who has trouble starting that part
Fantastic help for intermediate flute players like me who need a coach to deal with these rapid and difficult passages.
Merci Amélie !
Glad I could help Luc! thanks for watching and happy practicing!

Hi. How do you practice the cadenza with a metronome and how fast should those notes be?
I'm playing this right now! My lesson teacher said when she bought it she thought of me, so the pressure is on. Thanks for the video, you sound amazing!!
And where do you get your thumb ports?
Beautiful playing. I'm sure the flute was found for you

@@flutechannel Super! :)
May you do a video on the Hindemith Sonate
Of course! Will do it very soon! I actually just played it in recital a few months ago! I love that sonata, one of my favorites!
your videos always relax me! I have problems while playing the flute..I run out of air and Idk how to work on that 😭

You should check out our fingering chart poster. Its totally worth getting. Also we have loads of videos you can start on.
Hey! You sound amazing. What is the name and brand of the microphone you use??
For most of my videos I use the Sennheiser ME66/K6P Shotgun Microphone.

The Flute Channel THANK U SOOOO MUCH!!!!
my pleasure!
What grade is this does anyone know?
I think 6 or 8
It’s in the diploma syllabus I’m taking
depends on the country you're in. According to the Royal Conservatory of music (Canada) the concertino is a level 9
tres bien
Merci!
Great job, congratulations
Thanks Jose! Be sure to watch the other part!

I’m on like month 3 and I still don’t know it.
Yup...that low "C" is nasty on the second part there. hahahahaha
I am not a flautist but I following you. Why?
Because she is beautiful like the music she plays.

The ending with the Triplets and you have to double tongue those is a bear for me. It sounds muddled even after 6 months on this.
