Colonel Greg Brandon (Christopher George), an American serving at a Royal Air Force base in England, has a grand military dream: a risky plan to send a fleet of 1,000 bombers to a German airplane factory as a strategic strike. Brandon badgers his commanding officers until he has his way, losing friends and alienating people as he goes. When the raid arrives, Brandon sees the wisdom and valor of his fellow soldiers and realizes that caution is just as important as zeal.

Pretty good aerial affects for 1969. Much better movie than I expected.
Better than I expected as well. I bet in the theater in 1969 it looked great.
@@joebudi5136 They certainly didn't do much if any homework on the subject matter and it was definitely Hollywood and not history.
Thx for sharing this film of Operation Milenium, people will say that such heroic past feats as these were not true, but oh so true they were
You are 100% correct about the 1000 aircraft raids, but it WAS RAF Bomber Command that did it first and NOT the USAAF, they did it much later than we, the RAF, did it. This is a great film, but it is not historically correct or accurate with some of the scenes in which the RAF are represented.
Greatest Generation. They moved mountains.
@@joebudi5136 Absolutely, the Allied forces, no matter their country or size of their commitment to the Allied Forces eventual victory over the Axis powers.
@@allandavis8201 I am pretty sure the 8th did not have a 1000 B-17s in the air until 1944. Now they did have B24's as well but I doubt we got over a thousand total until early 44.
....GREAT MOVIE... AMERICAN AND BRITISH MEN AND WOMEN WHERE BRAVE BEYOND BELIEF....HEROS.THST SAVED THE CIVERLISED WORLD....
Historically the 1,000 plane raid was conducted by the R.A.F at night.
The U.S.A.A.F. did carry out one “Thousand bomber” raid, in March 1945 a force of over 1100 bombers and around 700 escorting fighters carried out a daylight raid on Berlin.
Since I Myself AM a Ground Forces Gun Guy from the Marine Corps and Army, I mostly watch the War Movies concentrating on Infantry and Special Operations Forces ( SOF) - centric Tactical Themes, however, every now and then, comes along a damn good War Movie , featuring Air Force and Naval Warfare, and This Movie, starring Christopher George, is one of Them. 🇺🇸🇺🇲🦅🌎⚓🪖💣💥🔥🇺🇸🇺🇲
Can’t be all bad. Gavin McLeod and Katey Sagal’s dad are in it.
Great flick, thanks for posting.
Some scenes were taken from The Last Bomb 1945, and 633 Squadron.
They did that with a lot of war movies back in the fifties and sixties.
An actual "Movie of the week", look up that term from the late 60's and 70's this was an CBS made one, I think, , I remember it from my child hood watching it on my black& white T.V.
Thw plane crew sergeant was an E-8??
I really can't believe some of you guys think that this is a good film.
Thousand plane raid wow look at all that profit...$$$$$ Capitalism loves wars...
I see your a disciple of the religion of victimhood.
