These nasi lemak, donut, pretty much the most common that u would see in suburban and rural areas. Unlike KL that have more fancy version, the food in rural is the one that most ppl grew up with. Enjoy
That's a regular donut. You need to try the traditional malay version of donuts. It's called _keria_ (cur-rhea) and while it's also ring shaped, it's smaller and thinner, looks less fluffy, and it's made of tapioca flour, deep fried in oil just like a donut is, but the sugar coating outside is more special, because it's not mere fine white sugar sprinkled around but rather with glazed sugar as the coating and that makes it much nicer. Later on, the traditional _keria_ has also undergone a slight variation by coating it with glazed gula melaka (or _gula apong_ in the state of sarawak in borneo) which is traditional malay palm sugar that's dark brown in color, boy, you gotta eat them while it's still very warm and soft, yummy! 😋😋
@carmaadventures whaaat??? You guys are sooo easily influenced! You haven't even met with this _keria_ yet, and you are already salivating! I'm very disappointed 😤
😦😦 OMG, you won't believe how much this means to us. You have made us incredibly happy and there is no words to describe how grateful we are 🩵🥹 You are the first person to ever give us a super thanks, you will be remembered for ever 🫶
Hi Guys, you can call it laksa mee or laksa noodle as well. Commonly it's made of rice flour while the wheat flour laksa is uncommon. Only famous in Kuala Kangsar city in Perak state. Last time Travels on Toast & iChang RM travelling a lot in this underrated island. Beside chicken, fish is a main food in Malaysia as well. Let's see how Fian Fishing, an inland fisherman of Pahang state made 'barbeque tengalan tempoyak' from his monsoon catch.😋
That is traditional nasi lemak: coconut rice with sambal n boiled egg wrapped in banana leaf, simple. Its good u guys stepping out comforts zone to try variety of local foods 👍we Malay n Thai use many seafood, fish as ingredients in our food.
ahaha you don't have to say thank you. We have to say thank you for watching us and commenting 🫶 Honestly, we prefer eating in more local places like that rather than nicer restaurants
The way to eat noodles here is to eat them with fork and spoon, using both hands. Not just a fork. By having both utensils you kind of be able to scoop or alternate scooping both the noodles and the soup. Eating the noodles by itself would be void some of the soup flavour and you end up with plenty of delicious soup left in the bowl. It got to be balanced. I prefer scooping the noodles into the spoon and then scoop some of that soup using the spoon. Don’t be afraid to ask for extra salt, sambal, pickled chillies, soy sauce, even vinegar, etc if you feel you need to up the taste to your liking.
Fish here usually cooked with spices that masks the fish smell. Some uses ginger, some with chili and some with tamerind. Fish also taste better when its hot.
All Malaysia cuiseine *must.,mixing..... Mix all, make harmony your food.. All food is salting, more sweet, more fat, so, Rice or another noodle must Mix...
Every state has its own type of laksa e.g. laksam (kelantan, terengganu) asam laksa, curry laksa, nyonya laksa, laksa johor, laksa sarawak, etc. And btw, kaeng som is from southern thailand not from Pangkor or Malaysia. Anyways, good that you're trying out the local foods there! Well done
U'd think the food in KL is generally cheap and affordable and then u go to the villages, rural areas and small towns and be like KL is so expensive haha. I guess u can apply that to any country in the world
It's ok if u don't like the laksa. Even Malaysian have their own preferences. Myself i don't like the laksa Pangkor. because of the fishy smell 😅 the thick doughnut ❤❤❤

U'd think the food in KL is generally cheap and affordable and then u go to the villages, rural areas and small towns and be like KL is so expensive haha. I guess u can apply that to any country in the world
ahaha correct, but to be fair, Pangkor was very affordable (the local spots)
Too bad...carol is already liking the fish flavor ....😊
Asam pedas ..next please
If Carol likes fish that speaks highly of the dish 😋
Why Carol does not like fish? They are yummy.
Carol is picky unlike anyone ahaha
So you guys are not going to borneo now?
We will be going around January and we are extremely excited 🤪
Onde-Onde with gula melaka
Gula Melaka is actually Brown Sugar @Carol Max
Thats what a good sambal nasi lemak should be. First hit not really spicy, then when u eat more the heat starts coming in
We definitely went to the same place then ahaha
You cut some of the fish and put the soup with the fish on the plate and you can remove the bones in between eating the rice and fish.
Max went all hands in ahaha
Please mix the chilli's, sauce with ur food
too spicy 🥵
The nasi lemak you eat is the real original before the fancy one with fried chicken. This is called Nasi Lemak Bungkus.
😂😂❤❤
❤
🥰
The noodle looks spicy
The red sauce is extremely spicy for us 🥵 ahaha
Laksa Pangkor... I kid you not...
ahaha
Gravy....
Kedai = Shop, Makan = Eat, Kedai Makan = Restaurant... 😅😅😅
It now makes sense why they had that name ahaha
OK mal s ku 💞🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾👍💞👍💞👍🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾💞🇲🇾💞🇲🇾💞🇲🇾👍👍👍❤️

😅 guys.. Your spice tolerance will increase from 1 to 10 when you travel around south east asia..
ahaha we already feel it increase very slowly ahah
A "like" for willingness to try our authentic local food in those unpretentious stores.
Thank you so much 🫶 We felt like at home
You only pay 2/10 from your home country
You guys don't eat spicy.. you should tell them.. but so unlucky to not eat spicy from heaven
