Parsons Box by Davey Rockit Vs. Boom Box by Andrew Neiner | Review Show Special With Craig Petty
Recently two of the biggest magic companies in the world have released very similar products at the same time. Penguin Magic released The Boom Box by Andrew Niener and Ellusionist released The Parsons Box by Davey Rockit. The question is which of these boxes are best and what are the differences. Should you get both of the boxes? Or just one of them?
In this Review Show Special, Craig reviews both boxes and talks about the differences between The Parsons Box and The Boom Box. He looks at the gimmicks, the tutorials - basically everything.
If you are trying to decide on which of these switch boxes to get then this is a video you don't want to miss.

Almost 10 years ago watching the Wizard Product Review I never thought this day would happen. Pretty humbling! Next on (my goals) list is making a Tenyo effect 🤞🏻..
Thank You for keeping it Pro and focusing on the magic. I hate seeing the industry split because of communication or accusations.
Andrew & I are good. Y’alls creation looks awesome! Seth an p3 team made some really nice gaffs an packaging.
You can “lock” the tab on the parson box by adding pressure to the sides of the box. I trialed an errored many versions before ending on this version as well as road tested this in working environments.
As a gaff maker this was intended as a utility. I feel some of the best material comes from the creativity of the owner. The serial routine is a baby of mine.
I hope everyone picks the box that appeals to them. Craig I appreciate this review and being a gentleman about this.
I hope all the viewers can learn more about Masuda’s creations after seeing ours. He is the real legend.
    - Davey

Nice comparison Craig. I love your comparing a "magician" to a "mentalist" premise for your no palm card to box routine...I have the Orphic Plus wallet and have used your no palm to wallet using the same byline as taught by you with that project.

You don't have to worry about bias when you compare two products. The differences are objective. One has a lock, the other one doesn't. One is plastic, the other is cardboard. That's it. Facts. Once you start reviewing methods, practicality etc. you enter the realm of subjectivy. This was a great video. I will get the boom box based on tutorial alone. IOW the Boom Box has you and the Parsons doesn't

Which one is made of plastic?

    • @youramagician

@@oliveri6476 I think Rob is confused, they're both made of regular card box material. Some previous gimmicked card boxes that have come out have been plastic.

The Parson’s Box is amazing. It may not have all of Craig’s routines, but there is a lot there including the instructions on how to build a new one in case it gets damaged. Davey Rockit is such a great creator, I look for projects he works on. I love mine and don’t see enough differences to buy the Boom Box too. I’m sure with the invisible thread sewn in it’s virtually impossible to rebuild, but Davey’s Parson Box includes directions how to build a new one. It’s a huge plus to be able to rebuild one if needed. I’m disappointed that Craig didn’t point out this difference.

That is a plus point for us to be able to build our own in case it worn out.

    • @youramagician
      @youramagician 2 года назад +2

I have a boom box, you could super easily replace the thread or build a whole new box for yourself. I agree that it would have been nice if the instructional video had shown how, but both products are so simple in their construction that I would think anyone could figure it out. That said they are really similar; not much reason to buy one if you already have the other.

I own both the Boom Box and Parson Box-- I like the Boom Box much better. Parson Box is not bad at all-- But 100% I much prefer the Boom Box as it allows me to do more-- Also, better construction IMHO.

Thanks for the review Craig. Just ordered the Boom Box. One thing I will say is I wish Penguin would spend some money on their website. It’s bloody awful! I think the server could do worth a couple more lumps of coal!

The bottom line is that one can say they are objective, but if they were involved in one project and not the other, the comparison IS going to be biased. To say it isn't is not entirely genuine, now is it?

Great video. My only comment is this video could have been done in half the time. Too much repetition.
