Josh will never be satisfied with any vehicle
I think that your "youtube guy" who is me....should tell ya the good and the bad...the things the he likes and the things that could use improvement. I can just about guarantee ya that I'll have this FJ for 10 years or more unless it starts falling apart. Honda element...you can't go wrong either! Ecoboost 3.5 JUNK!!! I figured you'd appreciate my opinions on what could be improved my brotha
Then why do you no longer have the old FJ?
I'm sorry I've commented 3 times. As I watch amd have thoughts I guess. But brother you may be my new favorite channel to watch. I really enjoy the interaction you have with us the viewers. I feel like I'm there talking with ya. Good on you. Love it. Thanks for all you do. Would love to see you get together with Derek from Vise Grip Lodge channel. He does some farming and is growing towards your size farm.
fuel mileage sucked! I had a rental property back in the day in 2009 that I sold to a fella...I had to foreclose on him and I needed a gas sipper....guess what I bought....Honda element! Now I have both and they're great. I've had about 200 cars/trucks in my life...I just like trading around and enjoying them. In my old age I like keeping them
I love it man...thanks for watching. I am a guy that cares about his viewers....I totally love Derek's channels!! He's a character! Great attitude!
Nice video, Uncle Stoney! I truly believe that owners of the FJ Cruiser are incredibly privileged to have such an iconic vehicle. It's rare to see people parting with these beauties, as they hold a special place in the hearts of their owners. Thanks for sharing and keeping the FJ Cruiser spirit alive. Cheers!
I'm a Toyota guy. 95 4runner, 02 Camry, 03 Cruiser, 05 Tundra. All have over 250k miles and still going strong! Hang on to the old ones. The new ones are too expensive!
And not as good.
I have 2008 FJ Trail Teams. Used to be my everyday driver. Now it's a weekend warrior. Almost at 200,000 with no engine problems except getting a new alternator. I love driving this thing. They will have to bury me with it when I die 😂
I'm a Ford man, but I don't have a problem with any vehicle that people take care of. Clearly, whoever owned this vehicle took unbelievable care of this Yoda. I love OCD vehicle owners
Nice vehicle, Josh. You found a gem in this one.
me too!!
You would love my brother-in-law. He puts towels down over his floor mats so they don't get messed up. He lives in North Carolina too.
Recently traded out of a 2020 Jeep Wrangler for a 2012 4Runner with 107k miles. I really wanted an FJ but similar mileage ones were around $10k more than the 4Runner was and that didn’t make financial sense for me. The equity in my Jeep paid for the 4Runner and I lost the $600 payment that I still owed over the next 18 months. The frame and drive train are the same on the 4Runner and FJ from what I understand. Great find!
I'm a Toyota girl and have been for absolute years!! Have over 300k on a 97 Tacoma, 297+ on a 97 4- Runner and 234k on a Matrix every rig has issues but Toyota is awesome. Only draw back is the cup holders really, really suck! I love the old ones, easy and somewhat inexpensive to repair.
@@bettyc.5070 now that’s a good girl 😂👍🏾
Congrats on a good buy. Got a clean 12 FJ with 126k out of SC not long ago super nice vehicle.
I went from a brand new F-150 to a 2006 Tacoma for the same reasons (yes…it had the EcoBoost) couldn’t be happier
bam!!! Reliable, older with less computerized gadgets! Get a nice radio with apple car play and enjoy the darn reliability! Great comment!!
2012 Taco used every day towing landscape gear 201300 miles normal maintenance keeps on rolling ! Hard to replace it now like you said new ones have issues and cost a fortune!
Wow, you got a squeaky clean FJ! This one looks like a winner for sure. I have a 2012 in iceberg - looks just like yours but with different wheels. You're going to love the FJ!
As one that has owned Toyota vehicles since 1984, They are the best by far. My wife drives a 2012 Limited Highlander with 52,000 miles and I own a 2018 Tundra Crewmax Platinum with 63, 000 miles. I keep the scheduled maintenance on both vehicles and they run run run. As a SCDOT retired supervisor, I had Fards, Chivy's and Dodgem's for over 34 years. I had the privilege of driving each new off the lot. The Fard sits like a wagon seat and makes more noise under the hood than a helicopter. The Dodgem rides like that same wagon. The Chivy wins out. The last Chevrolet was a 2003 with the 5.3. I never had a problem with that truck and when I retired in 2013, it was still a good truck. That is why in my driveway are two Toyota's.
Their reputation for being reliable is starting to fade with the new models.
@@Commentleaver-c6x It seems you may be right. Producing too many too fast and charging double what I paid for my house 40 years ago. Still, I love my 2018 Platinum even though it loves gas.
@@jerryhubbard4461 yeah, the price of the new Tacoma’s and tundras is obscene.
I've heard that about the brand new Tundra's with the 3.5 Turbo motors. What other Toyota models are failing in reliability? I know all the new Tacoma's only have the turbo 4 cylinder as an option but I haven't heard anything bad about them?
@@Commentleaver-c6x Correct - a massive recall on the newer Tundra's for the 6 cycl engine destroying itself due to manufacturing debris.
Great new vehicle, Josh! Congrats on the find. And that lift is awesome for these DIY maintenance projects.
thanks brotha!
You'll get a hundred comments saying it but the "sludge" on the diff drains is metal filings/dust from the diff gears.DO NOT FREAK OUT. Diff gears are mass produced and not hand finished and hand fit. It's normal to see metal dust/filings on the drain plug magnet. That's why it's there. Also part of the maintenance is the fluid change: to help drain the metal contaminated case fluid. Most OEM's also recommend a friction modifier additive for limited slip diffs. If Toyota does add it.Does the metal dust/flakes shorten diff bearing life? Sort of: if fluids are changed regularly diffs will outlast engine. If ignored they will fail quickly:espicially if run through deep muddy water.Back to the drains: if you see metal chunks that's when you freak out.
My biggest regret is that I didn't own one when it came out. I own an 07' fj now for 5 years and really enjoy the smooth ride it has for an suv, plus the 4 wheel drive is awesome! Never gotten stuck in sand. Also has amazing torque with great towing abilities. I pulled a stuck ,buried ,15k pound F450 dulley out with no problem....If you're thinking about getting one don't wait any longer. It really is a great vehicle to have for work, play, or just to cruise...
Also, your FJ is a really nice one as well. Like it just rolled out the factory.... squeaky clean 👌
Congratulations.
Awesome! I love my FJ! $90k later in upgrades🤷🏻♂️ you got a clean one to start with, mine only has 62k miles on it👍🏻💪🏻
shew...$90k? Ouch! I'm gonna keep mine bone stock and probalby look for one that's a bit worn for "trail fun" ...this is my second FJ and I've got a bit of a Honda Element addiction too!!
Congrats on a nice FJ! I had a 1st year 2007 bought in April of 2006. Put 242K on it. Sold it to my nephew dirt cheap in 2021. Only had to replace the clutch and an alternator (170K) and also replaced the front wheel bearings and lower control arms. (240K) (Bushings shot). Early FJ's and 2nd Gen Tacomas are the easiest oil change ever!
I know!! My 07 was so much easier!!
Dude I replaced my stock skid plates to a RCI skid 2 alan screws to reach filter, drain plug access open, Replaced crap filter with a Baxter Performance adapter now using a Wix 51348XP spin on filter, add a 3/8 connector and vinyl hose to the A/C condensate drain water, off the frame. You found a sweet FJ.
I sure want one ❤ thanks for all the insight
Great choice Josh! We had an 08, bought used with 130k miles came from New Jersey area. Had engine light on and turned out it was the timing chain rattle. If you research there is a ton of info on it. I did the repair myself, without a lift. Challenging to say the least. There was a ton of sludge in the engine from abuse which caused the premature wear. Flushed engine many times and we put another 120k on it, along with a lift, tires and rims and many more accessories. Sold it for the same amount we paid. I'd own another! Drive a 2020 Tundra now , influenced by Scotty Kilmer!!
The filter design on the newer FJs is total trash. I'll just keep my 07. 😂
Congratulations on the new farm vehicle. My setting on vehicles is snug. Good luck with the trucks. Enjoy, and learn a lot from your channel.
thanks David!
Nice looking vechicle -like the way it’s shaped ! KOOL 👍🏼👊🏻
Good find farm guy. That is one clean FJ. The guy must have kept it garaged and used it mainly as a commuter.
I have a greatly love Toyota Kluger. 32:28 2013 model. Looks new. Never missed a service. 325,000 kilometres & I have never had to repair a single part. Runs like new.
Excellent work Josh the vehicle looks amazing for the year of it 😮😊❤
I have 2024 tundra, 2007 Tacoma they both should last 350k you have a awesome sense of humor dude I’m a rancher too black angus in Texas doing well
My Highlander has the cartridge filter. I actually like it. I don't use the cheap plastic drain screw. I picked one up on Amazon that has an extension tube that allows me to drain it out into my dirty oil pan. No mess. (I do not have a lift.) That FJ is a gem!
Ah...I'll have to research that drain for mine!
I have that same drain with the tube I use on my 2018 4Runner, keeps from making a mess!
The FJ is my dream vehicle! I hope to own one just like yours one day!
get ya one!!!
FJ is the real life bumble bee which will still startup after being thrown in the junkyard for decades.. I have my 2010 since brand new and still drives like a hot knife on the butter.. The brakes on them are long lasting like no other vehicles out there,, I may have changed the brake pads max only 2-3 times in the past 15 years.. My rear seats head rest don't fold like yours.. Mine came with the factory front skid plate,, only downside to those plates is that it's a 2 man's job to take em off for oil change jobs I don't think I am parting from my FJ anytime soon..
I like the oil filter catridge. I like being able to see the paper inside of fliter to see if any metal or anything in it. Kind of a health check for me on the engine. On the other vehicles people have to cut opem filters to check so im a fan.
I just bought an 07, all black TRD special edition, with under 80k on it when I picked it up. The only one that year that didn't have the white roof. Love it, and will keep it forever.
Got a 03 Ford F250 4x4 with the 5.4 has 140 000 runs like new. She's a keeper!! Today's soccer mom trucks can't compete!!
I sat in a forest green, FJ Cruiser, at the NYS fair and it was an awesome, fully loaded Toy.
I like the Toyota canister filter! You will too now that you fixed the stuck drain port on the canister! Next time, by removing the drain plug the oil drops STRAIGHT down, then the canister wont spill all over the place when removed cause its now empty! Ya won't have old oil runnin down your elbows.
I’m on my third one, started with an 08, traded it for a 10, traded it for a 13. I still love my FJ and have no interest in another vehicle.
I don't mind the cartridge type filters, I find they are less expensive than the spin on metal oil filters. I did replace the plastic filter housing on my 4Runner with a metal one. The ears can sometimes break off the plastic ones as they age.
That's a beautiful vehicle! I love the color and the shape of your FJ. I'd noticed you did not mentioned the price you'd paid for it. Hope you'll enjoy it for many more years.
paid right around 30k for it....these really hold their value well
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Wow. You stole it. I've seen higher mileage FJs actually transact above their original MSRP. Oddly FJs seem to not suffer from a price reduction once modded.
I had a 2015 Tacoma and recently bought a 2021 Tacoma. I gave my 2015 to my son-in-law, with about 115,000 miles because it was reliable and ran great, for a 4 cylinder, and I knew it would run another 200,000 miles.
I bought a 2021 Tacoma with a 6 cylinder and I love it. I have become a Toyota fan.
nice
Sweet new wheels, Josh. I had an element and have fond memories of it. Always liked the FJ. Congratulations!
thanks Doug!!
Toyota is one of the best quality vehicles you can own. Like all vehicles none are perfect, but Toyotas run forever.
As for the cross threading that's a bad mechanic not a bad vehicle.
The sludge on the magnet is normal wear. that is why the magnet is there. To collect and metal wear. No worries mate. .
Hello Mr. Stoney, I think the Toyota filter removal tool has a 1/2 drive hole. The tool has a hex to grab with a wrench. A 3/8 drive extension will go through the 1/2 drive hole and loosen the filter's drain. The Toyota's tool is deeper and will push the housing lock leaf spring out of the way. That locking spring gets bent out of the way and becomes useless. The filter housing should click as you tighten it due to the spring engaging. The filter housing just needs to be hand tight. The locking spring keeps it from coming loose. Man I need sleep.
Man I love it. We are homesteaders in Middle Tennessee. I have a family farm and my own property is 5 acres. We do well for all that we do. I like the fact that you were a nurse. I am an EMT myself. Love what I do. It I love the farm more. So just in case you ever do other product reviews, talk to kioti tractors. I have a dk4510 and even though it is a 45 hp tractor, it has paid for itself and love it. It has been great for us. Keep doing it man. I enjoy watching your tool content and anytime you come to TN I’d be honored if you wanted to come check our place out.
Nice video Josh. I am a Ford man myself, however, I made my wife bye a Toyota Prius 2012 getting 500 miles to a tank with a 10 gallon tank. She had to work around the state of MD as a Postal Manager. Let me rephrase this video , it is a great video and way to go for the lesson on maintaining and servicing.
Right on!
Those steps are great for us tall folks as they a good place to knock mud etc off ya boots etc before ya get in an saves ya interior abit .
Can't go wrong with the rig. Just they eat up front glass in city driving from the vertical placement. Nice purchase!!
This is one of the few vehicles that increase in value as you drive it. We have a 2010 4Runner with 233k on the odometer. Best vehicle I have ever owned.
That Toyota is very clean! Nice purchase.
Thanks! I hope it stays that way.
That is the cleanest FJ I've ever seen. Had a12 Trail Teams sold it in 14 with 29k on it and it had more frame rust than yours. Mostly just on the welds though.
I agree....that's why I jumped on it! Like new!! Really nice example
We have a 2012 FJ Trail Teams. Red roof that year for the TT edition. Love it! No issue at all last 12 years with regular normal maintenance.
ooh...that's a desirable one! Especially that red!
We love it and plan to hang on to it for a long time.. thanks for showing the back window opens. We never opened it before.. 😂 I also have a 2004 dodge ram 2500 Cummins. Living in CA now but have 30 acres in SE Ohio with plan to retire an relocate there next spring. Love your channel!
I want one bad! Love it! Great video!
I love it!
Have been following you for a while now. Appreciate your videos and what you're doing!! I am a General Manager of a Toyota dealership in upstate NY. If you need any information or insight in the Toyota or auto world, feel free to reach out anytime!! Dustin
thanks brother!
Josh - check and see if your FJ has KDSS. It stands for Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System. It's a cool system for off roading but not much use for regular driving (although some folks like the ride). It is, however, very expensive to fix if a component goes bad or you have a fluid leak. It's available on 4Runners and some folks remove it after finding out what it will cost to repair. FYI. Thanks for all the informative videos over the years.
the ex's 4 runner had that setup
I'm a Toyota man
I own a Camry with 191,000 and a Tundra with 106,000 on it. Love them absolutely no problem. I've owned Toyota since I bought a new one in 1988 pu... I've had several and never had any problems... I just bought a jeep wrangler after looking for something on that order. I looked for a FJ and just couldn't find one in my area... I'm wishing I'd kept looking for a FJ. Urs is awesome looking ❤❤!!!!
My Camry has 220K and my Tundra 125K. Just got them both serviced and inspected. Ironically both of the alternators went at same time. They are not cheap for the OEM part.,
I am a Toyota guy own a 2007 4.7L Tundra besides the normal maintenance the only part that has failed was the alternator @ 225k miles. I agree the cartridge oil filters are garbage thankfully I don’t have one
Good call on a FJ, I have a super clean one!!
I hope they make a new one someday!
I love the FJ . I just bought a 2024 four runner SR5.
FJ CRUISER.
Best vehicle EVER. I've been loving mine now for 13 years.
Ditto on mine having had my 2014 FJ for over 10yrs now. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
I’m sure a lot of people complained about that older style oil filter, dripping oil in the driveway. I put a hose on my 2008 Tacoma. My 2016 Tacoma is just like your FJ.
Oil cartridge is much better. You can't remove most of oil from a spin on filter so it all gets sent to the landfills. Cartridge keeps oil and even some debris out of our land/soils, it also allows for easy filter inspections. The metal cap is just a dust cover btw. I've loved every Toyota I've owned.
Sad what FORD did to themselves. They are the blame. Farley and the entire Board should have been FIRED two years ago!
I've ridden in a FJ cruiser. Toyota did something right with the heater system. Woman picked me up in one walking home in the dead of winter during a rain storm. I wasn't chilled until I got out of the FJ Cruiser. I own a truck that also has a cult following. The 1994-98 Ford F-350's with the Crew Cab package and all sub models have a following. I own a 1997 withthe XLT package, 4wd, and the reliable 7.3L Powerstroke.
the FJ has a crazy hot/cold HVAC system....for sure!! It will run you out of the truck!
Congratulations
Toyota Venza has an aluminum housing that some people switch to. The plastic one has been known to break. I personally replaced both of ours on our LC200 and Sequoia to a Jowett Performance housing with a quick drain valve. So much better than the Toyota one.
EDIT: Looks like that Jowett filter housing may also fit your application.
That drain plug is like an 8 ft lb torque spec, but typical Toyota mechanics putting everything back on with an impact.
I'm old Ford owner for 50 years and still drive my 1971 F-250... But will Not own any Ford after 2015 Cuz they went to Crap... But I'll buyold Ford that was taken care of!
They were crap before that buddy
I have a 2007 FJ with 164K on it I bought in 2017. and I LOVE IT! Maintenance is pretty easy and I am still learning it. I do most maintenance on it now, If it is something I cannot handle, then I take it to the dealership. I LOVE the oil filter location on the 07-09. Did you service the transfer case? First time I did the diffs and transfer case I was worried the drains and serving ports would be stuck, but they all came off with no problems. Enjoy your FJ. Also, you get used to the visibility quirkiness of the FJ over time and then you don't really notice it anymore.
Good choice.
Back in 2006 we had narrowed it down to the FJ Cruiser,Nissan Xterra and the Jeep Wrangler.
We went with the Jeep Wrangler, still running awesome and only has 44,000 miles (only because of the 2009 VW GTI).
Enjoy the FJ!!
Nice ride Josh. Here I am for my semi-annual comment. I'm on my second FJC. I should'a kept my first one, an '08 - but I had a problem with the windshield defrost in a semi heavy snow one morning as I was bugging out of my high altitude, N NM mountain retreat @9460 ft. Though the outside temp was still 30° F the wipers were building up with ice like a popsicle. The defroster wouldn't get the windshield warm enough to melt snow buildup outside the wiper area either. I stopped twice in 30 miles to beat the ice buildup off the wipers. I was just thankful that I was headed east into the sun, and could get out of the mountains onto the plains after an hour of struggling with the issue.
I traded that '08 for a 2012 FJC that I still own. I'm a multi-vehicle owner too and have kept mileage low on my SUVs by driving my pickups most of the time.
One tip I noticed between my two FJs - the 2012 has 16 inch rims because of a sport package. The 17 inch rims on the '08 provided a much better ride across the plains of NM where low populations lead to even worse highway upkeep than we get here in the center of the TX Panhandle.
I'm glad you changed the oil on that thing. My usual places for oil changes went bankrupt during 2020 - 2022 economic crash. I was thinking of changing my oil myself, but after watching you, I think I'll pass and make the 75 mile drive to Amarillo to have it done at the dealership. They change oil and rotate the tires in an hour.
The brand new Toyota dealership that was less than 30 miles from me closed down in '21.
Keep an eye on those buttons by the front cup holder. I've bumped that traction control by accident and took me 30 minutes of fiddling with stuff to figure out why it was growlin and steerin funny. I wish the motor had a little more power since the mileage is only 20ish mpg. On a windy day it has to shift down to get up the slightest incline.
I've never off roaded mine. I have an old 2000 Jeep Wrangler up at the NM cabin for the scenic, off-road drives.
I never had one issue with my Raptor. I had a 17 and never one issue and I drove mine to 100k in the oilfield on lease roads. That being said I too will be buying an FJ pretty soon.
keep your eyes peeled for a good FJ...they are notorious for frame rust I'm told
I'm just here to say I love that t-shirt man!
Wow, beautiful Toyota! 👍
I have a 2004 Toyota Matrix, that I bought new. Still runs like new, still has all the original parts. (Engine, Trans, Starter, Alternator, Struts. 💪20 Years💪
Was hear wooooo. Always liked these fj's. There is a group out here that trails them. Met a couple who rolled one off a mountain and lived to tell the tale.
folks either like them or they think they're super ugly!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmerdefinitely in the love them column. And the Defender 90 and 110. Those hold their value too!
I have had my 1999 4Runner since 2001. Hit 300k this year. I love what it does for me 😂. My advice to my nephews, now in their early 20s is to avoid any infatuation with cars if they want to accelerate their path to creating wealth. 👍
My brother was a diehard Chevy guy and he bought a Tacoma, and he said something to me that sticks in my head as a philosophy i think alot of people need to hear. He said "these days brand loyalty is worthless, people need to drive whatever makes sense for them that keeps the most money in their wallets." I never thought about it that way but its good advice
Josh, One of my Sister's had an FJ Crusier one thing I saw first hand was it went through a lot of fuel. That was because of my Nephew drove his Mom's vehicle and put a bunch of miles on driving up.. around Francis Peak and up Farmington Canyon
Down the wasatch front to Bountiful and back.lots of miles.
I have a 2012 trail t🎉eam red and 2013 trail team segment gray and I love them .they are a investment .and go any ware 😅
The FJ is a great ride.
I have a 2007 Toyota fj cruiser and it’s a real piece of junk. It’s got 145k miles on it and the factory alternator finally gave out after 17 years. Oh and I have had to replace the brakes. Lol. I can’t kill this thing. I’ve driven it from Florida to Alaska 2 times and it hasn’t missed a beat😊
awesome!
Awesome video josh ive got a 2016 chevy colorado with the 2.8 duramax and its got that style oul filter and i love it. Its in a nice place right on top left side easy to get to. Hopefully the fj lasts you a long time. Ive been a ford guy my whole life but these newer vehicles just aint made to last anymore.
I don’t even want to ride in a ford. I had a Taurus. It was in the shop more than we were able to drive it. One time we picked it up from the dealer and it broke down 2 miles from the dealer. It looked sharp and a huge trunk.
Next we bought a Honda accord. V6 manual. It’s a rocketship. We went 150k before it even needed brakes. Outside of a hitting a few deers it has never seen a shop. It’s at 200k looks good and runs great. Very little rust even though we are up north. And like your fj it has held its value.
Hey Josh thank you for the video woo
Hope you enjoyed it!
Awesome replacement.
It’s a nice car, so many cars for one person I don’t understand that part.👍
I create content.....wrenching, working and enjoying them is what I do my friend...remember...this is also a show. We bring them in and out all the time
Toyota here it’s at Josh…Love my Tacoma!
Its a great vehicle i own a tacoma great truck 250 000 wonderful miles
Carplay is awesome!
The older Tacomas and older Tundras are great trucks.
Looks good!!
It's a 5 Speed Fam. Sas Perfection UnderWorld Boss Connection
Love mine...Blue FJ 2007 119k mint. I have 3 Toyota's. The best.
ooh....blue! I been wanting a blue one!
I own 2 Toyotas and I agree, it is not the best oil filter design because most places don't remove the drain plug first and drain the oil then remove the housing to replace the filter as it was designed to do. Most places always want to take a short cut, which is sad. It shows a lack of wanting to do things right. There are actually two o-rings that should be replaced which typically doesn't occur if they don't remove the drain plug.
Great point!
I like the element
Nice FJ cruiser ❤
Hey Josh we had a 99 4Runner an awesome vehicle. But one thing that was a pain in the butt was changing the oil. It was a four-wheel drive so they had a skid plate on the front and you had to drop it every time. Then you had to reach up in the side of a block and get the little mini filter off and of course it's spilled all over. The dealership apparently was doing it it was my mother's vehicle and it was stuff full of rags and towels in there waiting for a fire. I always wanted to do a remote oil filter on it because there is no other way and it was such a pain in the butt to get to everything. I think you're just going to have to change it to what you need and it'll save you a lot of time to do a remote oil filter . If you really like that car do yourself a service and get a France oil filter or a Amsoil remote filter. They are able to filtrate down to less than one micron that will keep your oil clean and make all the difference on that engine. It's not France it is f r a n t z. Otherwise thought to be a toilet paper filter but they are awesome and expensive now I used to get them out of the junkyards on cars and later they were all stolen. Hope this helps
Always love the fj
I had decided that the stealership that I was using didn't care about my time. So I decided to change my own oil and save 2 hours and about a $100 bucks. My wife bought a 2021 4Runner and I wondered what the difference was between her 2021 4Runner and my 2014 FJ Cruiser??? They have exactly the same motor a 1GR-FE 4.0 liter engine. I had the hoods on both vehicles open simultaneously and went back and forth between the 2 vehicles and the engines are exactly alike. So I can stock up on oil filters and 0W-20 full synthetic oil.
That button, is for resetting the tire pressure monitoring system.
Anything Toyota holds its value...and Honda
Amen!! These FJ Cruisers are super special! Like buying a Ferrari....they are now appreciating in value!! Look out...I bet I pick up another one!
Im a ase certified master tech, theyre not takin the filter on and off with the drain plug, its just nobody ever uses it so it seizes up, also might wanna look at upgrading to a metal filter housing cause plastic ones break fairly often, fj's are normally good vehicles other than that though
Hello... been a mechanic for donkeys of years myself... car/4x4 are each to there own when it comes to the owners... I'm a landrover collector and run a 2003 range rover .. one of the most unreliable cars made in some people's eyes but I'm very impressed with it reliability over the years iv owned and looked after it.. . hope your new motor is good for you but I reckon build quality in cars has actually declined since the mid 90s but that is just my opinion.. cracking vid sir 👌.. stay safe 🏴
as long as you own a scan tool....a land rover is a breeze!! lol...I had a 96 discovery and it was always throwing codes...but you could buy them dirt cheap and they were tough as nails
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer 😅 I own 3 diagnostics systems .. all snap-on i didn't trade in my old ones ... 🤣.. but mostly used on other makes of cars /vans ect. Even a fault code can lead some on a wild goose chase for finding the problem.. .. oh I was always going to say .. when you put your tractor on the 4 post ramp remember and at the fuel, loader and attachment weight onto the tractors weight before trying to lift it.. For your own safety..
good point!
