been wanting a 4-4-2 diamond all season, rashy hojlund front 2 just seems optimal. then we get to play kobbie, mount and bruno all at the same time. it also allows bruno to push up more, play sort of like a false 9 (bellingham sort of role), where he can be most dangerous.
Sounds good in theory but it doesn't work. Check out our home game against Brighton.
Trashy
@@flashlightproductionsauttp5612 I watched the home game vs brighton. The formation was the least of the tactical concerns in that game.
The formation was a big problem and didn't solve anything. In fact, it contributed to the problems
@@flashlightproductionsauttp5612 disagree, initially the shape matched up really well to brightons 2-4-4 in posession shape and we had a few turnovers and dominated the early stages. with the addition, of extra midfielders, it also allowed us to keep the ball better and rasmus and rashford linked up well. The problem came when brighton split their centerbacks and EtH didnt change the pressing strategy.
Plus this shape was used with completely inocorrect personell, eriksen, mct and casemiro, whereas wed use it with mount amrabat and kobbie, all far more retention based players then case and mct.
ETH still thinks his teams should have beaten Arsenal earlier in the season he ain’t changing anything.
his stubbornness will be his end
@@foxxyfem983 Yeah I agree all ETH had to do was be a bit pragmatic given the circumstances/injuries. He’s already admitted in the Gary Neville interview that he doesn’t wanna change tactics because when the injured players come back it will have to be a different system. That means he’s literally setting up the current team to FAIL.
He's not alone, I also think we should've won that game. Plus, he shouldn't change the system
@@smsm-xb1lti think last season he favoured results over playing style first 2 games he tried and got pattered this season i think he doesn’t care about results 😭
@@foxxyfem983 it ain’t stubbornness. He was literally hired for fundamental long term change in culture and style. You don’t get that by deviating off the path to pander to short run weaknesses.
Didn't we play the diamond at home to Brighton? We were absolutely shocking. There's no way he'll do that again.
The issue is the fullbacks especially Wan bissaka
Wan bissaka has one good trait......one...... And he can only use it in the right flank. I'd rather Dalot went left. He's a smarter and more technical player. AWB is waste on the left
i always said a 3412 formation would suit us. (Atlanta type football). garnacho and hojlund can run the channels, run in behind or drop deep as the 2 forwards , bruno just behind in a number 10/false 9 role. mainoo and amrabat as a double pivot. antony and dalot as Wing backs, then casemiro and 2 centre backs either side as the back 3.
Been wanting a 3-4-3 for a long time
Same
I understand why ETH doesnt change shape but you're right, ultimately it's crunch time and we have some key wins to secure. Pep alternates his tactics to fit the strengths of the squad and in my opinion, this is the main thing I don't like about ETH. Too stubborn.
He wont change.
It ain’t crunch time. It’s the next 5 years that matter.
Ten hag has always fitted his tactics to suit his squad. But United want to transition to a fundamentally different style, not pander to short term weakness. That’s not where this United squad is at. It’s about culture and style first. Tactics are mostly unimportant until then.
@@jgmediting7770 🤦♂️🤦♂️ fkn hell. I’m lost for words reading thst
@@UNITED8993 it’s the truth.
How about the same players in a different arrangement, with Wan-Bissaka staying on the right, where he seems to do better, Amrabat playing an inverted role at left-half (giving us the fourth midfield player), and Dalot playing at outside-right (Not his best position, but he can do it.)?
Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Evans; Mainoo, Casemiro, Amrabat; Dalot, Fernandes, Hojlund, Mount, Garnacho
Good idea AJ, hope that EtH at least thinking of this, unfortunately it’s not like in FIFA game, personally don’t think that with Amrabat and Mount who didn’t play a lot with the squad and not in good physical form MU can do it, hope that I’m wrong and we will see that(hopefully with Lisandro over Evans)
Did Scott Mctominay not play a CB role with Scotland where he done well? Casemiro can’t be starting again with that performance against Palace surely?
ETH only uses McT as an attacker, not as a defender
Can you please make an analysis on the Luke Shaw's injury history? Would be great to see what actually hindered his potential
I really want United to embrace the 442 and a mid block because the current team doesn't have energy for a high press.
Recruit Tuchel, sign a ST, 2 CB’s and a WB for each flank and we’re sorted with a top 4 finish really.
I also wanted the 4-4-2 diamond shape, till we did it against Brighton earlier this season and got ran through.
But whatever it is, we need a change.
Players' exits should also be on the line. If anyone plays like Rashford when he is to sign a new contract, we would so better off.
We will probably play well or even beat because of the occasion and history
Or park the bus or play a 10 -1 formation.
Louis Jackson or Rhys Bennett at CB?
Hope he gets it right
Tightness and compactness of a diamond would be the opposite of what we've seen this season. A very welcome change. The team is already unbalanced and hardly all our players will do proper quick, short passing. Still we'd want the defensive structure to close off certain areas of the pitch, especially the dangerous zones where opposition CAM would operate. I believe we could cut down the shots against ratio considerably.. maybe in half. However, just change in formation and possession game alone won't be enough. I'd like United to be much more aggressive in a mid-block where at least 2 players are involved in pressing at the same time, and the rest of the team adjust so the pressing distance won't grow too much. Yes, intensity levels are raised as we'd finally press every time like our lives depended on it, unlike what've done all season. Shorter distances to travel will allow a bigger conservation of stamina and further prevent the impact on huge muscles that long, pacey strides do. I honestly also think we can limit certain types of injuries this way.
On the bright side your videos show me that he’s the problem if you can come up with all these ways to remedy the situation he has. So I thank you for that 😂❤️
Aj is thinking short term. Pandering to weaknesses. Ten hag could do all this short term stuff, as he did last season. But he was hired for long term fundamental change in culture and style. To get rid of those weaknesses.
That’s what he’s been laying the foundation for this season, and why he hasn’t been pragmatic. That’s bravery and should be commended, because previous managers lacked it. Pragmatism is the last thing United need, when such fundamental change is needed.
Crazy for underrated Dalot is.
They don't play as a unit... They are easily scattered.. They don't move on the field as a unit
Out of possession....
That is all I need to know
Pressing
And tactics.....
U up for that.?
Yes, the issue at United are about tactical tweaks ffs. Just like they were for fergie from 1986-1991.
Haven't we used this once where we were abysmal as usual?
We did against Brighton not exactly like this but we actually played well and we just didn’t take are chances and we made sloppy errors at the back like usual🤣
I hope he doesn't change the system, tweak it a little, maybe but not change the wbole system. Some of the players already know what is required of then in this system and where they should be at points in the game whilst some don't.
Those ones who're slow to learn should be shipped out
Sometimes we have to believe what our eyes are seeing...
Ten hags tactics all seaso have been to throw on or start mctominay and pray for a goal from him.
Dude we don't have players for diamond formation. Amrabat is rubbish and was a mistake our luck that he is on loan and he will leave this summer.
Ok
Please drop the narrative that Ten Hag is intentionally exposing his players. 😑
Even if it made sense (which IMO it doesn't), he wouldn't have carried on exposing his players like this to the point where he's very likely to lose his job.
I’m sure if they just hired you, all will be fixed.
Just give up already. The assumption that he’s doing it to weed out the guys that aren’t good for the system is hilariously pitiful at this point. He’s just damn stubborn.
Ten hag does the same thing week in week out..and it's not working. Why not alter the tactics a little bit..shows how narrow minded his tactics are💔
If you think a sane person with all this noise of being sacked would continue playing like he has just to prove wan bissaka (example) isn’t good for the team at the cost of a place in Europe that you desperately need, then you’re desperately running from reality 😂😂
They will beat us 7-0 , the rigid and stubborn manager is done.
Just play a flat 442 work the channels stay tight
These man really falling for this propaganda, good back through this channel and look at the TITLES
This man did a video saying TEN HAG CREATING A NEW TACTIC 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Eth won't change anything. We're going to see the 3-1-6 trash formation against Arsenal. Against Partey, Rice, and Odegard, we'll get annihilated
