Maybe I have got them all. I haven’t checked to see what’s missing. Nevertheless I want to do the opposite direction to what already is there. As for Stony point, if you can sweet talk a driver into doing it for me on the quiet, I will gladly post it.
@@tressteleg1 Yes, it sure is! Eltham was just like a little town then & even up to the 1970's it was too, but now of course it's just a suburb. Love your work; spend many, many hours watching it. :-)

I know I have done some with Comeng trains. Check out the various Dandenong line videos. Whatever train you see coming the other way is often the usual type used on that particular line.
Pleased to ride in Melbourne trains compare to Brisbane trains. The announcements are minimal in Melbourne . In Brisbane they are overwhelming irritable & long with both auto and guard making duplicate announcements, one following the other, The volume is super high so even with head phones and music going , it is impossible to block out. I now often catch the bus to get some respite.
The Gold Coast tram, which I use once twice a week, it is just as bad. I put in a complaint to GoldLinQ, but got basically a copy and paste response. You have to wonder what idiots are running the show these days. I will save your comment or further ammunition against them. I know they are different operators, but the concept is the same.
Only time I've ever used Wattle Glen station was when I was playing baseball out there one day. We'd finished and I was walking back to the station when a train actually rattled along. I took off for the station. Luckily the driver must have seen me cause we waited a good 30 seconds for me. Thanks Driver. :)
Looks like it. Maybe you can find that run in the timetable. But that particular video was made up of at least two different runs as the first train terminated at Heidelberg, I think it was.
Thai HD Vision plenty of them in peak hour. A couple years ago nearly every train would skip jolimont-Clifton hill however the amount of expresses seems to have taken a hit with recent timetable changes
more excellent viewing as i've come to expect. just at the bottom of the screen at 0:35, is that an important piece of railway infrastructure or a kindly donated piece of unloved concrete?
@@tressteleg1 ,i'm now sure its just a piece of concrete. i don't think anyone is going to want it back. it was probably just thrown over the fence. kids do that sort of thing.
It's a part of the signaling - if you look closely you can see the cables next to it. They are commonly found near level crossings as it's a device that splits the track circuit into two sections. see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Track_circuit
Just think of the poor drivers being tossed about in these things on truly second-rate track. Cheap and nasty building trains these days without air suspension.
Oops! I mistook what video you were talking about. From my observations from editing these videos, it does seem that certain types of trains are confined to each line. It probably reduces the need to train all drivers to be able to drive all train types, and probably simplifies maintenance. Obviously Hurstbridge is not a Comeng stomping ground.
tressteleg1 it’s Metro themselves who maintain the track and stations. 20 years ago the stations and track were far worse than they are now. Melbourne seems to take the “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” approach a lot.
@@lachlantrainvideos How is that possible? Many look like they haven’t received maintenance in 20+ years. :) Even the quality of the track the trains run over seems to be run down in many areas. If it’s a choice between Sydney’s endless track work on weekends and this in Melbourne, I think I’ll take the Sydney trackwork. :)
Magic!
Having moved back home to Melbourne, now my line... Really appreciate the signal interpretations: quite bizarre!
🤔
From making one video to the next, I still can’t remember them!
Excellent video
Platform 3 in Macleod is where the train terminates.
Perhaps normally, but I’m fairly certain this one ended at Heidelberg, or maybe that is where the driver turned the camera off.
Used to be for the old Mont Park line.
😊👍
Thanks for the vid ...brings back some good memories when I lived in Melbourne .
😊👍
I think you got all of the electrified lines now!
Any plans for a drivers view to Stony Point? That would be a first on RUclips.

Yea, I would love to see Stony Point.
I forgot you live overseas. But with Covid out of control this last week, you would not want to come just now anyway.

Thought this trip a bit slow. Could see some of the platforms needed attention as well. I know I have done this trip before maybe the other way?
I did cover some of the earlier bridge works or whatever on this line. That would have been last year but I had no video beyond Heidelberg then.
Wow, a trestle bridge! @ 34:45 They got rid of the last of those in Sydney in 1989. Melbourne is so full of "history"!!
Paul Jones You are very diplomatic in your choice of words there. 😊 No mention of old rubbish! I suppose Richmond line were the last.
@@tressteleg1 hehe yep, the two huge ones near Windsor are the last that I know of.
Paul Jones that bridge is heritage listed and so they can’t get rid of it even if they wanted to. Iirc it was recently re decked.
The tunnel after Heidelberg is a vast improvement and should have really been done before 2018. 😬

I think that generally drivers will wait if it is not for too long, unless of course they are already well behind time.

Who is responsible for the upkeep of the Melbourne Stations, so many of them look run down compared to Sydney?
I think either Public Transport Victoria or Department of Infrastructure.
